Expensive but very worthwhile chocolates! They were absolutely delicious and would definitely recommend!

Pricey, but delicious chocolate and macaroons. The saleswoman was friendly and even provided a sample chocolate. They melt in your mouth. It's a small store but it has quite a selection.

I feel like I was in heaven , these chocolates are just work of art . I wanted to gift but ended up eating 2 boxes on the flight yeah you heard me right lol . But sensuously wonderful idea for gifts

I had no idea what I was getting into when my cousin and I sprinted through Louvre underground to get to this place. When we got there, I felt like we had stepped into a dainty chocolat museum! Everything was so beautiful, it was like the packages were glowing. We got to taste some pretty superior chocolate. My cousin picked some nice petite boxes for us as well as family back home... *Vinyl record skreech*-snap back to reality. We went to ring up and after doing the exchange rate calculations in my head, I'd realized that she spent almost $600 USD on freaking chocolate! I told her that shop needed to offer financing for their products, because that is freaking insane. Well, their chocolate is insanely flawless. Staff: first-class.

The tea shop on the second floor is absolutely adorable and really should be on any pastry-lover's bucket list (ditto if you are into tea houses). Calm, refined, and civilized, it embodies everything that "tea" should be. Mom ordered a pot of tea and she deemed it delicious (she is often disappointed by hot tea--it is rare that we find an establishment that makes it properly). I ordered the hot chocolate with chantilly, and it filled me with mirth. (Warning: it is a dessert unto itself. This is not the insipid cocoa that comes from powder in an envelope. Imagine a cup of chocolate truffle, and you are about right.) We both ordered the plaisir sucrée, and now I need to go back to Paris to take a pastry class. Definitely come here for a special treat tea.

It was a cozy and intimate setting and overall a great experience. Of course, the macaroons were amazing! Loved that the cappuccino came with their logo on top of the foam. And they gave us 2 scrumptious Laduree chocolate squares, which was a nice treat!

We…read morehad finished lunch but were looking for some sweets before heading back to the hotel for a breather. I noticed this place was close-by, so off we went. Fou isn't a large space, really only enough for a queue to form and the staff to stand behind the counter. Unlike a traditional pâtisserie, there is no baking done on premises here. Instead, they import bakes from other pâtisseries and pastry chefs and sell them here. They had a good selection, with each having a label that tells where it came from and/or who the pasty chef was that created it. We decided on three pastries and a slice of cake - they were running a special where if we ordered three bakes then we could get a fourth for a discount. Each of the bakes were quite good - my favorite was the lemon which had great flavor while also being intricately decorated. Overall though, all our selections were high quality. Service was fast and friendly, and overall I had a good experience at Fou de Pâtisserie. It's a great option to get Paris' "greatest hits" from all over the city.

All the gorgeous pastries have signage indicating the maker of the treat. I visited this location as well as the location within the BHV on Rue Rivoli while I was in Paris. They both offered a lovely selection of treats! The caramel brûlée pâte à choux was quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life - a sweet caramel cream filling and a crispy brûlée sugar top. I also tried the pistachio tart (salty, not very sweet) , the pear and almond tart (very fresh, not super sweet, and gorgeous), and the chocolate praliné tart (very rich, dark, and indulgent). Overall, this is definitely a patisserie that I will seek out on a future trip to Paris!

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

It really tastes like melted chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in to make it more drinkable. We went at a bit of an off time, late morning and it wasn't overly busy. We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.
