I walked in and the smell of chocolate welcomed me with a great, big hug. Honestly, if I close my eyes, I can remember the exact moment I walked through the door! What an AWESOME little chocolate place! We really loved exploring the shop because each type of treat was so intricately designed and decorated. The store itself was designed so well. Even with all of the types of chocolate, it wasn't overwhelming visually. The service was great! The servers were so kind with sampling, and the prices were bar none, best I've seen in France. I really would HIGHLY recommend this place! Definitely better than those over hyped Laduree macarons (as per husband!).

Two amazing stores right next to each other!

This place has the most amazing chocolates! Everything is spectacular and leaves you wanting more! Even the macarons are pretty decent, though competition is high in these areas for that. I highly recommend coming here and trying at least a few of their chocolate covered goodies!

Hands down, my favorite macarons while I was in Paris. My friends and I happened upon Maison Georges Larnicol by chance while walking the streets near Montmartre. We were drawn in instantly by promises of Le Petit Musee du Chocolat - chocolate museum!? I'm there. They do a great job luring in tourists with the Chocolate Eiffel tower and other cool sculptures made of the rich treat. However, their goodies really are fantastic, too, so be sure to pick some up while standing in awe of the chocolate creations. Now as I said these were my favorite macarons during my entire trip and I tried my fair share! Their flavors were fantastic, macarons were done perfectly with the right amount of crunch & softness plus their prices were great. 1.80 Euro each or 7 for 7 Euros in a cute little package! My friends and I also got some other snacks and enjoyed them all. I was such a fan, this is the shop I chose to buy macarons from for my friends. You must try to get here while in Paris to pick some yummy bits up.

One of a few locations in the area that provides quality macarons, albeit on the pricier side. Definitely worth a stop when vacationing there.

Lovely & festive shop filled with all kinds of confectionery treats & emong them were macarons. Many of the items are self-serve but not the macarons - you need someone from the staff to assist you in packaging your selection. Given this was our first visit, we only selected a few - next time we'll know to go for the works - they were yummy! Passion fruit - very tart (in a good way) & grainy seeds? Not sure I liked that part Pistasche - very intense pistachio flavor Caramel - I liken this to a nice, rich, butterscotch Rose - strong rose flavor (in a good way) filling not very creamy but flavor made up for it These macarons are smaller than you'll find at Laudree or Pierre Herme but they were very tasty.....small but mighty & definitely worthy of another visit!

Fantastic chocolate and macaroon shop. The location was conviniently across from the St Paul metro station, and on the way to my hotel. A store worker asked if I'd like help, and since their chocolates are not described in English, I took her up on the offer. I told her I was looking for dark chocolate to bring back home with me and she alerted me to the fact that I can make a custom tin of picked out chocolates and went to grab me a tin. The tin was €2 which was a fair price to pay for something that will store your chocolates and keep them fresh and also have a nice token that says Paris for another use later. We strolled through the shop and she pointed out each dark chocolate selection and I told her if I'd like it and how many I'd like. At the end I didn't fill the tin completely, but it was nice to have my own custom selection. She let me sample some chocolates throughout and they were so good! I also got some caramels, which I highly recommend as well, and two boxes of macaroons which she was nice enough to bubble wrap for my flight home. All in all, I had wonderful gifts to share with friends when I came home, and a nice experience in the store.

Picked up some excellent pastries and macaroons at this location. The macaroons were every bit as good as those at laduree but without the high price tag. Macaroons come is assorted flavours at 0.80 each. The lemon was particularly good, but the rose fell slightly short with more of a berry flavour. Overall a great dessert spot that I would go back to.

This spot at the Carrousel du Louvre is a full service shop that gives out samples and allows you to build a box rather than just grab a premade assortment from a kiosk. I say this because we walked all over on our last day (wanting to make our own boxes) so we found out where the full-service shops were. The people who work here are very patient and kind while you make your selections. And of course, it's fun to sample the decadent merchandise. I highly recommend the Maracuja (dark chocolate w/ passionfruit pulp ) or the Salvador (dark chocolate ganache w/raspberry pulp). We made the mistake of turning our kids into chocaholics so we had to pay the price and bring them both home a box. Couldn't forget one for ourselves either. Each box comes with a handy picture guide so you can identify the merchandise. Or just pop one in your mouth and be happily surprised.

The BEST!!!!!! Oh…read moreman! I will start by saying that I don't even like macaroons in the United States. They are just dry and nasty most of the time lol But in Paris, I decided to give them a try! And I am glad I did. They tasted so good! Seriously, they were delightful little treats. The inside of the macaroons was moist and flavorful, while the outside had a nice firm texture. So good! I almost ate an entire dozen of those by myself! lol My fiancé was not super motivated to try one (probably because they suck in the US), and I kept telling him how good they are. Finally, he tried one and was shocked at how good it was too! They are not cheap. But worth it for a decent macaroon. I can't eat macaroons in the states now lol Ruined me for life. lol

This chocolate boutique was founded in the 80s by Patrice Chapon, once an ice cream purveyor for Buckingham Palace. Since then, he introduced his now-famed bar a mousse concept, allowing chocolate enthusiasts to sample made-in-house varieties of mousse sourced from cocoa beans across the world. I first visited a Chapon outpost on a quiet side street of Saint-Germain-des-Pres. You might miss the narrow storefront and brown awning on first glance, but melon-sized bowls of mousse in the window are unmistakable. The interior is warmly lit, featuring tastefully worn wood motifs. The backlit shelves to the right are curated with prepackaged confections, while the display to the left is decked with à la carte chocolates. We arrived for an early afternoon treat, and the friendly service patiently talked us through and offered samples of multiple mousse varieties. My favorite was the Equadorian, a dark, full-bodied flavor with some floral notes. I also enjoyed my sister's Madagascar, which had a thickness and richness reminiscent of caramel. My mother opted for the lighter, fluffier Peruvian, which was nearly the consistency of meringue. Lastly, the 100% dark Venezuelan had the thickest texture; however, the red wine-y flavor might turn some off. While the mousse is delicious, the prices might be harder to swallow; our 3 small portions ran over 20 euros. Nonetheless, I was impressed by the staff's ability to suggest an ideal mousse to suit each of our preferences. For a unique experience and a mousse that is sure to impress, don't miss out on Chapon.

Pierre Hermé If you…read moreknow Pierre Hermé from social media and all the viral videos, then this review needs no introduction. But if you haven't, this is a strong contender for worthy macarons in Paris and at a convenient location across the street from Ladurée. Located inside L'Occitane in the most gorgeous floor space ever, you will find Pierre Hermé at the center of it all. They have an impressive array of flavors that were much more unique than other patisseries. I definitely asked for a few recommendations as well since I tend to order the same thing (pistachio, raspberry, lemon, etc.) The workers were very kind. They indulged my request to converse in French and corrected me in a respectful and endearing way (I know some people get upset at this idea but I personally prefer it.) I had ordered a dozen macarons but truthfully would've ordered the entire lot if I wasn't alone and especially if I wasn't already taking a ton of sweets back for my flight home. I am a Ladurée purist and what I can say is that Pierre Hermé definitely had the best and most unique flavors compared to the two. The prices are fairly comparable and the coffrets are just as tasteful. Both are strong contenders and worthy of your money. I certainly will be returning and look forward to trying the rest of their selection. (15/50--2025)

Pierre Hermé is home to some of the best macarons I've had in my life -- which is probably too many for the good of my health -- and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the macarons, the staff's attention to detail, and all the unique flavors this shop had to offer. As a popular macaron shop in one of the hottest tourist destinations in Paris, this location is undeniably crowded. There's usually a huge line circling around a central display of macaron after macaron. The line looks pretty intimidating, but it moves quite quickly, and there are so many flavors that it'll probably be helpful to have a bit of extra time to review the menu. My friend and I split a pack of four macarons, including their seasonal isapahan (rose, lychee, raspberry), infiniment praliné pistache, and a jardin de cassandre (red currant, rhubarb). The macarons were delightful. I loved the two seasonal items; they were delightfully fruity and slightly floral, and I loved the slightly tangy flavor from the raspberry in the isapahan and rhubarb / currants in the jardin de cassandre. The praliné pistache was nice and nutty, and the inner cream offered a great additional richness. It's usually super crowded so seating tends to be quite limited. My friend and I ended up taking our macarons to go and enjoyed them elsewhere as we toured Champs Elysée.
