Some are stronger dark chocolate flavors and some are medium to light. I decided to get the one with 60% chocolate from Ecuador. As delicious as it was, for 7 euros in a small cup was way overpriced. Page put about 2 scoops that weren't even full. The mousse didn't even go all the way to the bottom of the cup, which it definitely should for the price. My sister saw this spot on Instagram and so we came here for an afternoon sweet treat. They gave us samples of chocolate while waiting in line and we had the choice or milk or dark chocolate. There were two different mousse options (milk or dark) and there's a separate line inside or purchasing chocolates vs purchasing just mousse. The line is long but orderly thanks to the employees. Credit cards are accepted. Even though I'm usually a dark chocolate girly, I'd recommend the milk chocolate mousse. I'd also recommend splitting one between two people. read more

They have a few flavors that rotate, but appeared to have some dark and white chocolate. We opted for the dark chocolate made with almond milk. This chocolaterie is forever etched in my chromosomes. This is where I had that "chocolate moment" this is where the dark chocolate told me, hey, milk chocolate sucks. It is just a tiny chocolate shop but the whiff of chocolate and the number of people coming in and out intrigued us. I didn't know this shop existed; we were just traipsing along the cobbled streets of Paris when we found this gem. The lady manning the counter was extremely nice; she even spoke English to me. She gave us samples, too. We stopped by Chapon at first because there was an ice cream cart outside, but once we got inside, we realized that the real star of the show was likely the chocolate mousse. The lady behind the counter had limited English but had enough vocabulary to let us know the differences (mainly the difference in percentage cacao terms) of each. After sampling a couple we got a healthy-sized scoop topped with chopped hazelnuts with one of the 72% chocolate mousses...and wow, was that delicious. The only thing I wish was that the mousse was served in an actual cone (e.g. a waffle cone) and not just a paper imitation. With a lightness that contrasted against the richness of flavor, it was a delicious snack to enjoy prior to us getting to our lunch spot! Mousse isn't the only thing Chapon sells as well; they have a variety of chocolates for sale, and we ended up getting a 24-truffle box for 26 euros - a very good price, IMO, compared to what we have paid back home in NYC, as well as in Belgium. The pieces tended towards the creamier side, and all the pieces have been good, but I would say that the craftsmanship, while excellent, is a tad below the level that I have enjoyed elsewhere (particularly some of the boutiques in Belgium). That said, the prices are good, and Chapon, at the very least, is worth paying a visit to for their mousses. Don't be afraid to pop on in! read more

There are 4 or 5 kinds of chocolate mousse that they give you to go in little paper cones; the girl behind the counter took the time to explain each one's tasting notes & origins. They have beans & bars from all over the world that you can sample as well as a case of chocolates which you can buy by the piece. I bought a small box and when I got back to the States and tried a few, I was so disappointed that that I didn't get a larger box- it was some of the very best chocolate I've ever had in my life. Definitely the best praline I've ever tasted. It was so good I'm actually considering flying back over for a weekend in December to buy a bunch for Christmas gifts. We ordered these chocolates to our home in the US... A quick search for Parisian chocolates led us to this brand and I am so glad! They are fantastic. The boxes are beautiful and each one of the four chocolates that I have sampled thus far is excellent. They are delicate with many layers of flavors - you can tell they don't use a lot of sugar and are using the finest quality chocolate. I am trying desperately to not eat the entire box. They offer several different origin chocolates that are fruity, intense, caramel-y, etc. You can get a topping (I chose powdered praline but they also had cocoa nibs) but I would skip the topping. The mousse is super rich and topping is overkill, unless overkill is your thing. If that's the case, get the ground praline and enjoy the moment. They also sell bar chocolates and individual bonbons in cute packaging but we were too engaged with the mousse for that to register. read more
