I came by this store for a new terminal for my car battery. The one in my car had snapped due to corrosion and had popped off on the freeway, which is so dangerous. Mike came out to take a look and was so incredibly kind and helpful. He installed the new terminal for me, and every question I asked he answered knowledgeably and with grace, informing me of the issues and every step he took to fix my problem. I am so grateful! While I was initially okay with the service, once an alternative diagnosis came to light, and it turns out that a battery was not the problem, the people at this location were immediately obstinate, unhelpful, and began hiding behind their own arbitrary, and ridiculous policy procedures. The reality, and the fact of the matter is they could have easily solved this issue, done the right thing, and they were just not responsive to my requests to get to the bottom of this matter. The battery I had bought was fine, and if it was truly that I needed a battery it would be fine. Since finding out I had a bad alternator, and not a bad battery, it seemed prudent to wonder if the battery was bad. Given I had to lug the battery to the car and did not have it present at the time, it made the diagnosis impossible. When it was possible , after turning the old battery over, we discovered it was an alternator issue. Why in the world I did not think to have the battery tested before leaving, I do not know. I just gave it to them. Within a few hours I did wonder, though, only to find out they wanted to play some kind of gotcha game. Of course there was nothing they could do, what was I thinking. I wanted to see if they still had the battery in the store. Which of course they did!! I was hoping they could test it, and make sure it was not still good. In hind sight it probably was! This is when they decided to throw a bunch of arbitrary , non- sensical, we cannot do anything about it, our hands are tied policy, bs at me. Unfortunately for them they were not able to leave me with a single rational, or salient thought about why they could not simply pull it from the pallet. Even if they had to re- label it, this is not an inordinate amount of work. The pallet, to be sure, had not left the store. So, it was not out of the realm of possibility. Even my appeals to have them make a one time , offer a one time courtesy, this one time! could not persuade. Not because it was not persuasive. Any rational person would agree, it was totally possible, and appropriate, then they should do it! Apparently, though, it's a matter of life or death, whether or not they take a battery off of the pallet, and re do the paper work. As though it would have required anything more than just pulling it from the pallet and testing it. Absurd, is the right term for it. If you actually care about the service you offer, and selling people the right product, for the right problem, you would do what ever it takes. You did not do that! Instead not once, but twice you simply hung up the phone on me! How dare you !! This was in the middle of a rational conversation, where no one had said anything disrespectful. It was really just an attempt to have them explain their point of concern, in my attempt to have them see what I was saying. I only wanted them to bring about a resolution. This would be the solving of the problem, where you as a company get to the bottom of the matter, and do the right thing! If it's within your power. Telling the customer to bad , we just cannot take it off of a pallet is a poor excuse. I would say if you cannot give an actual reason, then you are willfully disregarding the request of the customer. Shame on this company , and of these reps. I will be sure to use another company. They deserve to be punched in the face. Since I cannot do that, without consequence, I will write here. Maybe a higher up will come and teach them a lesson. Scandals. read more

Autozone in MESA: If I could put negative I would. When I arrived there was know one in line. There were two women helping two customers for about 10 minutes. They all looked clueless. Note: I am a woman. The parts manager was standing to the side doing appearing to be doing nothing. He finally came over to help me to check my new battery which had been drained + I wanted to check if it was good still + exchange due to the circumstance. He explained he needed to check before he could only exchange if it was bad. I explained to Mr Parts Mgr the Autozone off of Osborne suggested I have it checked + exchanged since it was under warranty, fine. So all of the sudden he said he had to help someone else at the parts desk ...because thats "his station"... but wait... isn't a battery a car part???.... just saying... yet he's the "parts manager"... ok.... he then proceeded to ask me to wait + that someone would help me. Then the line filled up with customers, suddenly a third customer service agent appeared walked over + asked me to get back in line because she had to help someone else. At this point I had been patiently waiting for almost 20 minutes (mind you the store was empty when I arrived).... I told her Mr.Parts manager told me to wait here. She then told me sorry, you have to GET BACK IN LINE... what an EPIC FAIL. I said OK + left. I will not use this autozone again as everyone looked half asleep + clueless... unbelievable. Please hire people who have some skills beyond ringing up people... most of my experiences in Autozone have been great through out the years, with knowledgeable + polite employess... but this one was crazy. Maybe they need training on customer service + car parts.... and a new staff or I guess management. read more

Terrible Experience. It's no wonder why this store receives so many bad reviews. I have spent $800 in this very store on McKellips during the past 8 or 9 months. You would think that a repeat customer who patronizes this store would get a modicum of respect. I needed just one item, but there were a few other things I would have picked up on my way to Fry's since I live close to this store. There are three local retailers who sell the same item for $6 less and I had read that they will price match. This store told me to go pound sand. Although I had the lower price pulled up on my phone (after they said they had to actually call the other retailer to confirm; yes for $6), and I let them know the other local retailers who had the lower price, they told me that they will only price match a stand-alone auto store; nothing else. I have two project cars I am working on presently and have quite a lot invested in them. I have a shopping list with at least another $1-2,000 to spend at an auto parts store in the coming months. Because this store is convenient, I would have likely spent much of it here. Not now. Do they understand what a customer service gesture is? When you can help out a customer for a few bucks, save them some driving time and gas, even when you charge full retail for everything. Will never spend another dime in this store. read more

I've been sitting on a $20 rewards card for a while now. I tried to use it at one point. I had an associate tell me that I needed to contact cust srvc so they can transfer the card account to my phone #. Needless to say.... I called cust srvc and I was told that the store should have just taken the card and be done with it. Card doesn't need to be linked to my phone since it was mail to me and I can show my ID. I come to the store and the assistant mgr tells me the rewards program is no longer valid and there's nothing she can do. Here's another store that doesn't know how to value a customer. I shop enough here to earn points. I had other points that I found out they have expired and I'm ok with that. I'm not ok with associates not knowing how to take care cust with simple things in the spot, instead they pass the buck. Add another disappointing experience!!!!! read more

My husband called the store and inquired on some parts that he needed. He spoke with Eric and gave him his phone number to pull up his account and Eric said that they had the parts. My husband asked for him to pull the parts and hold them for him. My husband informed Eric that he was walking to the store to get the parts. When my husband got there Eric was at lunch by then and someone else informed him that they didn't have the main part that he needed. that he would have to go to another store to get them. I have come here for years, but as everyone know it only takes one time to screw it up. So one time a nice older lady (the one with black hair) was checking me out at the register. I pay and she looks at my receipt for about 15 seconds and I asked her does it all look good? She says yes. I go to my car and I think to myself, hmmm I wonder what she was looking at? So I look over the receipt and I see that she double charged me for an item. Now the fact that she double charged me is not the issue, it is the fact that she look at my receipt and I asked her and she was like yep all looks good. If you mess up, just say so. No big deal. But she let me walk out knowing that she screwed me. And then when I went back in to get my money back, she look up from what she was doing and gave me a look like oh cap I have been caught. Then instead of taking care of her mess, she had a Co worker take care of it and while I was in line she explained what I needed to her Co work before I even said anything, so she knew. That kind of employee just lost you a 7 year customer and the only thing I will go to this LOCATION is to dump my waste oil. read more

Went by today because our battery had been dying easily and figured it needed to be replaced. We found out we were still under partial warranty and so they covered part of the cost. The service manager, Mr. Phong Nguyen replaced the battery and even cleaned up the battery acid for us which was above and beyond good service. read more

I went in to see if they had a hub puller for rent. The less than experienced employee told me there was no such tool. Really?!. I've been working on cars longer than this guy has been alive, and have used a hub puller many times, O'reilly's has them. He went on to tell me that "you're not supposed to push on CV joints!" I informed him he was incorrect, and that you're not supposed to pull on CV joints The hub puller pushes against the halfshaft and pulls the hub off of it. Pure lack of knowledge period. His total lack of automotive knowledge and I know everything attitude pissed me off to say the least. Obviously he is the smartest person he knows, very common for 19 year old males. FYI; most american cars including rear wheel drive vehicles have front hubs and not spindles anymore, at least in this kids lifetime anyways. This poor attitude is going to hurt you more than help. Also just a heads up Autozone, when you have customers in the store that don't need counter help, and just want to check out, put someone on the register so we don't have to wait for customers that need counter help. I've went through the application process for Autozone, and it has quite a lengthy automotive experience test. Autozone apparently pays no attention to their own testing process. read more

After trying to change it myself at night once it cooled down and realizing it was wrong, I called AutoZone and asked to exchange it. When I showed up, not only did Aaron give me the right one, but Aaron took the time and replaced it for me on the spot. I was in The store standing in the designated checkout line. All employees were helping other cutostomers which is fine but it was taking forever. I had two items. Well I guess the manager, he was wearing a gray colored work shirt which was different from the others, looked directly at me. He could see on my face I was inpatient. Well after he finished helping a customer he wandered off to help an employee who was having trouble with a computer, again looking over at me for a split sec. During this a new customer walked in and head to the back of the store. After about 2 or 3 more minutes of still standing in the designated line area the customer who had just walked in stood in front of the registers (not in the marked line area) and the "manager" looked up at him and said "I can help you right here". Trust me... this was very intentional move by this employee. He knew I was next and although I'm sure i looked impatient i was not acting inmpatient. I had been quietly waiting for my turn. I was first in line for the past 10 to 15 min. Now I hate leaviing 1 star because of one disrespectful employee but I am very mad. I'll just stick with O'Reilly auto parts from now on. I was stressing out over a battery issue in my car. It was just over a year old and purchased from this location. I went inside too ask Ellena about charging it and she told me too bring it in, coming straight from work I had no tools so she gave me a set too use. After getting the battery out and on the charger it only took 5 minutes before she was telling me the battery was. Even before I had time too worry about the price I another battery she had one up on the counter and rang it up under my warrenty where Ivan ( the manager ) walked by and happily put his code in the system bringing my total up, $0.00. My favorite price. I was in and out in about 15 minutes with a new battery and nothing taken out of my bank account. This AutoZone is always sketchy when the warranty on a battery comes up. They become very unfriendly after you prove that the warrant has NOT expired. Reluctantly hands you another battery that probably will not last the summer. Never returning to this AutoZone again. read more
