I have had the pleasure of using sdhq for two vehicles: a 2007 Fj cruiser and more recently a 2023 ford ranger. Every experience with the employees and shop has been great. They are willing to talk about any and all modifications, give thorough explanations, and help determine which route is best for you. The only issue when visiting their shop is my willpower is about as robust as my wallet (not very). I recently put on stage 8 icon on my ranger. Initially I had the standard springs. After adding a bit more weight all around it was suggested to upgrade the springs in the front coilovers to support a heavier load. Dustin reached out to icon, asked the engineers what they could do and what would work. Turns out 700# springs used on Tacomas work nicely on the ranger as well! Extremely happy with the end result. Now for my review: I first went to Desert Rat for a lift kit, wheels and tires. They were not helpful and gave me two websites to refer to for my decisions. I then went to SDHQ and was welcomed from the folks at the counter immediately. I told them what I had in mind and we walked through all of the options. I wasn't looking for anything extreme as this is the daily commuter and part time off roader. They found me the perfect set up for what I was looking for which is likely small potatoes to their normal builds. sales counter offered to help me find my products for my electrical needs. immediately follows up that request telling me he knows nothing about electrical. i buy a rocker switch for my transmission cooler fan, and when i get home to look up diagram for wiring the website has 2 options. 1. a website that does not sell that product 2. a website that both my computer and cellphone tell me is a website impersonating the correct one and that will steal my card info. cannot wait to go return my $10 switch on Monday only to be charged a 20% restocking fee. read a few more reviews and figured i would edit for the sake of full disclosure. the week prior they helped me immensely and i had a great time working with the sales staff when it came to getting me plumbing parts. the fact that the sell electrical switches with this installation issue is my only concern. while i am sure the solution to my problem is just to use the bad website or google the diagram and hope it is correct. Any company that would employ a women like Serena to represent their business is simply not focused or qualified. She will ignore a dozen messages and will not reply to multiple business calls. If she is part of ownership then this place is worse than I thought. I must say after living in NYC, Los Angeles, Paris France, Rome Italy, Tokyo Japan and now Tucson Arizona, there is something about Phoenix that is very unattractive. Make sure to read their fine print!! Let me start off by saying I own a couple other SDHQ products and they have been great, but never have ordered from them directly. I was looking at purchasing their billet terminal kit and billet battery holder for my tacoma. Although I thought the billet terminal kit was overpriced at $173, I decided to order it anyways (along with the billet battery holder at $55). They make you check a box that says "I have read and agree to SDHQ's Shipping & return policy" which from my experience a lot of companies do meaning they may charge a restocking fee for some items or are not responsible for lost or stolen shipping items. I completely understand that. So yes I check the box without reading the fine print (because who does), and then comes the checkout screen which says FREE shipping, Place the order and then I get another email a few minutes later saying I owe them more money. I have spent thousands of dollars on aftermarket parts from many different online companies/small businesses but I have never come across an ecommerce business that handles online orders like this. Pretty frickin lame if you ask me. Maybe ask how other small businesses handle their shipping instead of making people pay twice? I suppose I could understand if I was ordering a big bumper, prinsu rack, or some gigantic part but I wasn't. It was 2 parts that could've fit into a small box. read more

We have a 2018 Toyota 4Runner with a custom suspension and lift, and we have been bringing the 4Runner here for about 5 years. SDHQ has always been honest. A Toyota dealership tried to tell us our rotors and brake pads were bad, and they tried to charge us $1500 to replace them. SDHQ had installed after-market slotted rotors and brake pads, so we took the vehicle to them. Turns out the rotors and brakes were just fine. The quotes for work are always accurate, and they do not try and upcharge for additional services. The only thing that was wrong was the rear brake pads needed to be replaced for $80 for the pads. read more

My husband owns a very well known hunting outfit, is a Cabela's Guide and all our vehicles and camp equipment we are always asked about our experience with products and companies. We see people from all over the world, my husband sponsored by many companies for products on his trucks and used in the field and camp. HANDS DOWN I would give this place a ZERO for customer service and commitment to their service. We received zero communication regarding our stage 5 and the fact that the rear was unavailable for 4-6 weeks and they sent out the fronts and never called us to tell us about the back order is absurd... 5 days from my truck going in to have a make over and we had to cancel everything because of their error!!!! Placing us in a terrible situation this guiding season. Ordered a Stage 5 Icon from them and they shipped the front control arms only, never called us and told us that the rear was 3-6 weeks out putting us in a huge bind right before guiding season as we had an appt with then shop to install. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION and when we called and found this out, they didnt care a bit, refunded us and said their good bye. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be lied to and overcharged. Mis diagnosed issue with my truck which had some slip in the axle. My tires were simply too big for my stock 3.42 ratio they either didn't do the work or straight lied to me but they tried to tell me it was my headlights and hood. Literally laughable when I got there I said ok show me and nothing happened. Then they told me it was my spindles which are solid as a rock. This place is a joke I took it to lowboy Motorsports and Todd told me for free what it was in 5 minutes. Save your time money and sanity and avoid these crooks. read more

I had a great first experience here. I've heard a lot about SDHQ online (TacomaWorld, Facebook) so I decided to take the 45 minute drive down from Cave Creek and check it out myself. Brice was very helpful at the counter and answered a lot of questions centered around my Tacoma's suspension as well as gearing options. I had also met one of there sales managers at the recent Overland Expo, Joey. Brice then helped me grab a new set of SDHQ branded ditch light brackets, as well as a set of billet ABS protectors. Great customer service, and their in stock selection here looks tough to beat. Lots of fasteners for projects, which was an unexpected bonus. I'll be back I three weeks for some electrical work and post an update then. I have zero complaints about that. The communication is poor on their end. 800 dollars for Upper Control Arms was a pretty big deal to me. So when my box arrived I was a little confused to not have any bushings . Plus seeing the damage to the paint on my supposedly new ucas from a poorly packed box it was obvious the washers had damages the paint because they were loose. I sent pictures and the customer service rep didn't care because they didn't spend their 800 for a damaged product missing bushings. Budget being key it was on July 2nd I was able to get my truck in the shop. Then as the install was in process we found out there we're no sleeves!! Needles to say my 4th of July and for my family and daughters birthday were ruined. And instead if rushing me a complete and undamaged set they made waited until I was able to ship back their mistake. Total Chaos should drop these idiots as distributors. SDHQ will sponsor trucks, companies or individuals but if your a little guy they will do nothing to make up for the extra cost in the shop or the ruined holiday weekend. In the age of Amazon it weird to deal with multiple mess ups on an order that is for a top dollar part with no compensation. They cost me and additional 300 in shop costs, stay away from these nitwits! Poly performance on the other had sent me a complete and perfect set of Total Chaos Lower control arms!! Go with Poly Performance they are true professionals!!! In all reality if I hadn't been excited to look at the new UCAS I would have never noticed the missing Bushings having no experience in installing I would have never caught the missing sleeves. Point is I should have been able to take the box to any shop to have the UCAS installed with out double checking if it was correct. If you value you hard earned money stay away. Horrible experience with a ruined holiday and birthday weekend. read more

Poor selection for Jeep upgrades and terrible communications. Went in to ask about upgrading my Jeep's suspension, the "counter" gave me one option. When I asked about quality and the manufacturer, "I don't know, it's all we got." Went home and did my research, good manufacturer. Went back to order part, counter person punched it into the computer and gave me a dollar amount. Seemed very cheap so I asked "that's the price?" "No (eye roll) that's the amount we need to place the order." And how much is the price? "Same as our website." Oh OK guess I should have known that. Order placed, 45 days later I called to see when it was going to be in. "We've had it for a month, we told you it would be here in a couple of weeks." We scheduled it for over a month out. During time I emailed them hoping it was better to get my brakes upgraded too. Took them over a week to respond yes they could order the part that was on their website. By that time they couldn't get it in time for install. Got shocks installed, and yup no call if Jeep was done. I had to call them. Picked up Jeep and only at this time was I told the labor cost. Luckily it was reasonable, and I've met one of their mechanics on the trail. I have confidence in their work. Plus they ask you to come back in 500 miles to check everything was tightened properly.
