I never write reviews but I really felt this has been too terrible of an experience not to share and at least if nothing else, to save someone else from going through what I did. This is by no means towards my salesman, Steve. He did his part it was between the banks and Autos Only where they messed up.
I started out in Lynnwood where I met my salesman. I was looking for an SUV and unfortunately there was not much inventory at that location. We went to the Burien location and I decided on a Acura MDX I used my car of which I owned 100% of as a trade. This was on a Friday evening, none of the banks were open so the financing manager, Terry drafted up the documents and I signed partial papers (enough to drive it off the lot).
Everything was to be done by Tuesday where I would then come in and finalize all of the paperwork. I work overnights but still agreed that Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. was fine. I got off work that morning at 7 a.m. from Redmond, drove to Burien and waited until 10 am, I was not greeted by anyone. Terry was not in his office so I assumed he was running a bit late, at 10:45 am Terry was still not in so I tracked someone down (Johnny) to ask if he was going to be in today that I had an appointment with him. Johnny gets Terry on the phone and returns to tell me that he's not ready for me yet and Terry will call me when he is. Well great, I wasted a trip, gas, and time.
Over the next 23 days of still not being financed by the bank I had called; the bank, Johnny (he took over for some reason as the go-to person), and Terry. I was met with phone calls not being returned, bank throwing me through hoops saying that they could not verify my employment but refused to use the work phone number I provided. Once they did verify my employment, Johnny called me to set up an appointment to come in the next day to finish everything up, contact bank etc. I asked specifically if I needed to bring anything, he said no.
I showed up the following day, he told me that the banks still needed a copy of my work contract (which was not being renewed until the end of June and honestly none of their business/both my job and income were verified that should have been good enough) and gave me their fax number to go ahead and fax it when I receive it. Yep! I went in for him to hand me a fax number!
A couple of days after that incident I was done, I took the car back and told them to take it I no longer want this headache. Well there was another problem with that, my car that was not supposed to be sold until everything was finished, was sold. Yep, they sold it. My car in which was never in any accidents, never had a single mechanical failure, always maintained on time, and in great condition was gone. The answer to this was, to find another car on the lot and makeup the difference to finance $1200-$2000. I agreed because the whole reason I traded in was to establish credit through a car payment.
there was a black 9-5 Volvo 2006 on the lot. I figured it was fair enough, I test drove and then asked for the CarFax. Johnny then told me that he "wasn't going to lie it had been in an accident but wasn't totaled" Well, like an idiot I believed him and went on to complete the financing. I was told it was going to be by them but a couple days later conveniently it had changed to a bank. Come to find out this car is nowhere near the ballpark of my trade in, it was in more than just an accident, and has had brake system problems almost its entire life!
All in all, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. There will not be a third time. Please use caution when dealing with this company, I understand sometimes it is needed especially in hard times with credit being tarnished. However, with a 0 FICO score and some medical bills on my report, I have since gone to Toyota where they put me in a brand new car for $250 a month, signed, sealed, delivered same day without a copy of my contract with my employer!
To Autos Only: Your loss! You would have had a loyal customer if you done right by this whole deal. Putting me in a car full of problems and making me pay for it is far from doing the right thing. I will warn everyone I can to prevent them from having the same thing happen. read more
