I want to thank Michael for taking me in when they were technically supposed to be closed, the day before New Year's Eve. I am very happy with the service I received from Autostaat, especially from Michael who is the owner of this fine establishment. I own a 2000 Audi S4 since 2002 and I've been deciding whether if it's worth keeping or not. I've had a handful of problems in the past, the S4 and I have a love and hate relationship. Before discovering Autostaat, I took the S4 to a previous euro repair shop. Long story short, I wasn't impressed with their service and what their estimates were, I might as well have taken my car to a dealership. What I should do is actually thank them, the situation forced me to search elsewhere on Yelp and I found Autostaat. I called and spoke with Michael over the phone and we began to exchange emails of what the S4 needed. I provided Michael with the document of the parts and labor estimates (via email), that the previous euro repair shop had documented (fully inspected). The next day he sent me an email with his labor estimates and I was impressed. I showed Michael what I was purchasing from an OEM/Performance German parts website. He confirmed the parts that I was planning to purchase and I finalized the order. I received my parts and scheduled a time to drop my car off to him. I work the daily grind hours from Monday through Fridays, so I asked if I can drop my car off on a Sunday morning. He met with me as scheduled at his shop (which I really appreciated) and he discussed the process of the installation and repair. Michael called me and informed me both Monday and Tuesday what he encountered, without me calling him with a status. He had my car for about two days and by Wednesday, Michael contacted me to let me know that my S4 was ready. I dropped by that evening and he explained in detail what he went through to repair my S4. He took the time to answer all the questions I had of my car and he was very patient with me. I definitely received a lot of insight from him and I respect what he and his shop are all about. Overall, the service, communication, and costs were the best I've ever received from a euro repair shop, since I've owned my S4. Called up to ask a question about getting a service repair done. The lady that answered the phone yawned when I began to speak. No problem...but after I asked the question she was extremely short with me, and came across as if I interrupted her nap or that I was bothering her by calling. Having a business of my own, I would never have an employee answering phones with this type of customer service habits. I take this as a reflection of the business. Unfortunately, my last visit was so disappointing I am lowering my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Per Audi's maintenance schedule, the 115,000 service on my Audi Q5 TDI includes a refill of Ad Blue diesel emissions fluid. In each of the four prior 10,000 mile maintenance services provided by Autobahn Motorwerks, the Ad Blue refill was included. This time, it was not. I did not realize this until 12 days/450 miles after service when my Ad Blue Refill notification appeared on my MID. When I returned to the shop, I was told Ad Blue service was every 20,000 miles per the Mitchell maintenance schedule they use. They said they do not use the Audi maintenance schedule. This contradicts what I was first told when I started taking my car here nearly four years ago. At that time, I was told they perform the same scheduled maintenance that the dealer does. Regardless, their comment that the Ad Blue refill is every 20,000 contradicts the service they performed previously. I tried to show the Audi maintenance schedule that I brought up on my phone, but there was no interest by the shop in looking at it. Upon further questioning, I also learned they did not check the battery, despite Audi's maintenance schedule stating this should be done as well. This experience makes me wonder what other shortcuts were taken. I still give them three stars for the great service I was previously provided and low costs. They do seem to do good work. If I go back, I will have to make sure they follow the Audi schedule so my car can remain at tip top shape and the remaining emissions warranty does not get jeopardized. read more

Not only was the service cheaper, but it was fast-like done within 2-3 hours fast. The techs were also great. Derek was super personable and took the time to explain everything to me, even giving me advice on not servicing something, when he could have just as easily said "sure" and took my money for something I didn't need. Disappointing experience. As an oblivious car owner, had turbo charger replaced for initially 2100$, jumping to 2400$, did not really ask for tune but was not clarified well enough about options either. Never physically shown problem with car. Bad communication, lack of organization. Did not receive loner car as advertised on web site. Attempting to bring car to shop first was first diverted and told Mondays where only for makeup work. Had to return car several times with more problems. Overall lack of respect. Thumbs up to Autostaat for having integrity and honesty!! The starter on my daughters car went out over the weekend and I had the car towed to Peoria VW. Peoria VW told me the starter needed to be replaced and recommended six other items to be repaired. TOTAL COST (without taxes included): $3760.00. I had the Rabbit towed to Autostaat and spoke with Mike about the condition of the Rabbit. Mike had his team look over the car and told me the starter and vacuum pump needed to be fixed. I told him to change the oil on top of repairing what had to be fixed. TOTAL COST: $719.73 out the door. My savings: $3040.27 Great shop that I will return to in the future. Autobahn Motorwerks should be a 5 Star rated shop. I was referred to Autobahn from a friend. I bought a vetta for my wife a couple years ago from a small dealer. This car is the definition of a lemon. This car has had major problems from day one. The first month we had the car the transmission went out. I took the car to five shops and Autobahn was the best price and did not try and sell me extras to make a buck. Micheal went out of his way to find me a used transmission and the repair was done fast with no issues. Next my motor ceased up. At the time i was living in Mesa so i had the car towed to two shops that both wanted to sell me a new or used engine for half of what the car was worth. Autobahn was the only shop that had the master technicians that could rebuild the motor. No other shop would touch it. Michael and his team took the car and had it back to me in 2 days. And the car runs Great. i have had the car in their shop a couple more times for small issues and i always get the best service. One of the best qualities that autobahn has is Honesty. Micheal will only take your car when he knows he has the time to work on it. A lot of shops will take your car and sit on it until they have time. Not Autobahn. I recently purchase my first Volkswagen Jetta TDI and I had lots of questions. The VW dealership service departments charge a fortune, so I decided on Autobahn MotorWerks as my son had taken his Jetta there two years ago - they were the ONLY ones who could diagnose and actually FIX the problem his car was having. I worked with Gary at the shop to get my DSG transmission fluid and filter serviced, he answered all of my questions I had about the vehicle. Michael Benson and his staff of mechanics are absolutely the best. Michael has done a lot of work on my 1997 Ford Explorer - it has 230,000 mile on it. He put a rebuilt engine in it last fall. I had to have another repair recently to pass my inspection. The part I needed was on my old engine, which he stored in his shop. I ended up paying for less than an hour of labor and no cost for the part! Michael is honest, kind, and a man of true integrity. He will always be my mechanic.
