I had full-body XPEL STEALTH PPF installed on my BMW M3 at Tint World Norwalk in January 2025 for…read moreapproximately $5,000. Unfortunately, my experience afterward has been extremely disappointing. Over time, widespread white swirls/clouding became visible across multiple areas of the PPF, including the roof, trunk, and doors. There were also visible marks on the windows and taillights. I brought the issue back to Tint World and was initially told that the vehicle required a special filtered wash. Later, I was told the problem was likely caused by chemical contamination. Tint World had also applied a ceramic coating to the vehicle in June 2025 after concerns I had with the original installation. I subsequently had the vehicle looked at by other professional detailers, and I was told that the appearance of the film was consistent with an issue involving the coating/application rather than normal wear. I also filed a warranty claim with XPEL. XPEL ultimately stated that its film did not appear to be defective and indicated that a non-XPEL product, chemical, or coating had been applied to the film, directing me back to the installer for remediation. Despite all of this, the matter has not been satisfactorily resolved. Tint World offered to remove the PPF, but I was quoted approximately $1,400 for removal rather than being offered a no-cost correction of the problem. This has been particularly frustrating because the car was nearly new, had very low mileage, and I paid a significant amount specifically to protect its finish. I have also been told by dealerships that the condition of the PPF negatively affects the vehicle's trade-in value. I gave Tint World multiple opportunities to address the situation before posting this review, including contacting the location and corporate office. Unfortunately, I have not received a resolution that I believe is reasonable considering the cost of the installation and the condition of the film. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering PPF or ceramic coating carefully document the condition of their vehicle before and after installation, understand exactly which products are being applied, and obtain everything regarding warranties and remediation in writing.
