I've been coming here for a long time now and it's been good. He was reliable for the most part with the work that he does and I feel that he gives fair (not great) rates. The only thing that really bugs me a lot about this place is that the guy is always late. I try to come here when it opens so that I can be first in line. But he is almost always 15 min late so this time around I came late and it's still not open. The phone number does not have an answering machine so even if I call there's no point in calling. I wish he had a business cellphone with him so he can at least let me know how late he is running... Edit: Waited close to an hour and still not here. Really is as good as it gets here. My car wasn't starting yesterday due to what I thought was a fuel pump that needed to be replaced. I first called around a few places to get a quote on the repair. I was getting prices of 400, even 600 dollars. But then I called Auto Pro Repair and talked to a nice speaking man of the name, Vick. He said labor would be about $175. Well I figure that plus the price of a new fuel pump will probably be my best local price. Today I got it towed over to Auto Pro Repair. I wanted to make sure this was something that could get done today, and he said he would make it happen. For whatever reason, my car started when it got there. I don't know if something just got shifted on the way over there from the tow, or what, but it was working. None the less, Vic did a thorough check of anything that could possibly be wrong. About an hour later I receive a call from him saying everything looks normal and I can come pick it up. Any other mechanic could of gone ahead and tell me I need the fuel pump replaced and charge me hundreds of dollars. This is a man that's honest and cares. Came in with a cylinder 2 misfire, left a couple hundred lighter with the truck running worse... Called Vic and he told me that he suspected it was going to be a bigger job but he wanted to try to save me some money, told me to bring it back in, was gonna be a big job... I took it to my regular mechanic instead (Alex's in Sunland) and she said there was one nut missing and the other was just sitting on the manifold, which had caused air leaks and accounted for the loss of power. I'd like to think Vic had a bad, careless day and this isn't as shady as it looks, but either way, I'll never take a vehicle to him again. read more

My car broke down 250 feet from this shop. The owner gathered what he needed for temporary repairs and then brought the car into the shop. He stayed late till 7:00 on a Friday to finish the job. He gave me lots of discounts. He even offered to have his wife give me a ride home while he worked on the car. Very nice people who care about the customer. read more

It feels so odd to give five stars when I didn't want to be there in the first place. Emergency auto repair blows. My radiator hose also blew. It blew a major hole, and I needed to replace it right away. My navigator said Hamlet's was my closest auto repair option (ha! close? when I tried to navigate to it it told me I had already arrived. Looked up and saw the sign across the street. Duh). So, drove the 5 steps to the garage. Abe (owner?) called in the part, said they'd fix it up for me. No estimate on cost which I don't like, but I hadn't signed anything so figured it couldn't be too bad. 90 minutes later I was fixed, coolant filled, and car washed. They didn't even charge me for labor- just the part. Auto work can be a nightmare, but this was almost pleasant. Can't give less than 5 stars for that. read more

Great for volkswagen (VW), Lexus, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, other German and Japanese imports. Auto Pro Repair is the wonderful combination of not crowded and fairly priced. Vatche is honest, fair, and hard-working. I've taken my VW Jetta GLI to about a dozen auto repair places and none of them provided service as well done and as quickly as Vatche did. He's also a great haggler on parts and often wants to get the best value fix for his clients. When it looked like my 2006 Jetta GLI needed a part replaced (I'm not a mechanic, but it had something to do with wheel alignment), it looked like it was gonna cost 400 bucks. He searched and found the same pieces for 180 total. He also walked me through the repairs needed, telling me the prices of parts and explaining why they needed to be replaced. I have no idea why he isn't at the top of the search for repairs on Yelp. He also goes the extra mile. When I said I needed to leave by 1 p.m., despite the fact that he wouldn't likely get the parts before 3 p.m., he said "Let me see what I can do." I ended up getting a ride home a few minutes later, but it was the attempt that mattered. You know he's deliberately trying to get you the best deal and as quickly as he can. He has a 1967 Camaro in the back that he's been working on for a little while, feel free to ask him about it. read more
