I had may daughter take her car to Auto ER, it's close to campus and I read many good reviews. Auto ER stated it needed a new radiator and a new head gasket, quoted me about $1,700. Something didn't sound right so I paid their diagnostic fee and picked the car up with a car trailer. Took it to my local mechanic and he replaced the radiator only at less than $300. Also, he didn't understand how they could recommend a head gasket when the radiator was bad and they couldn't do a pressure test. The car is still running well after almost a year... read more

Before taking your vehicle here, definitely shop around. Everything is overpriced. I came here because they advertised a free oil change for hospital staff. After getting my free oil change, they said the only urgent thing I needed fixed was a turn signal & they recommended a coolant system flush and a power steering fluid flush (both services I have had done numerous times at other shops). I foolishly agreed before asking for a quote on their services and was later charged OVER $500 for a coolant and power steering flush and they NEVER replaced my turn signal. Florida Statute 559.905 requires that a written estimate be given for any repairs over $100 and they never did this. Not only will I NEVER bring my car here again, I will NEVER recommend anyone bring their vehicle to Auto ER. I have received quotes from other local repair shops that range from $172 (Pep Boys) to $294 (Toyota Dealership). I can't help but feel like they saw an opportunity to take advantage of a college student. read more

Consumers BEWARE!!!!!! I wish I could give a zero rating for this place. These mechanics are only that by name. They totally screwed up my car. I had my engine repaired there and still have the same problem. Took it back, they quoted me an additional $1000 for a NEW problem that wasn't mentioned before. I left. Had various mechanics look at my car and was told that whoever worked on my engine messed it up. They couldn't even guarantee me that if they worked on my car that it would resolve the problem because of how bad AUTO ER rigged my engine back together. Wires were cut and put back together improperly, parts and bolts were missing from various areas. They all couldn't believe how awful the engine looked. Additionally, the 'new' $1000 problem AUTO ER said I had was INCORRECT. Nobody else said I had that problem but them. Even though the work that was done is under warranty, I wouldn't go back to this place with my car if somebody paid me to. I am stuck with a messed up car now until I can afford a new one. I really struggled between three or four stars for this place, but because I believe in being gracious (and it was a tough call) I give it four. The prices are average. You may find slightly better prices somewhere else but it would a lesser known (sometimes unreliable place) and there have definitely been places that I've gone to which were much more expensive. The downside to this place is when they're busy, they take a very very long time to get to you. Granted, the place is very nice and they have amenities such as bottled drinks and snacks however it is slightly painful to wait half of a day just for somebody to get around to you. Also you can generally expect a bit longer than they quote you to wait for your car to be fixed. (If they say 1 day it might be more like 2 or 3) I don't believe it to be malicious. You only have the amount of employees you have. They are very nice people here. The main desk guy and two body work people I met, one lady and one man...all extremely personable. That alone makes me willing to come back. To top it off they did an excellent job on my car and I was pleased overall. read more

I wanted to say positive things about this establishment. I returned here after an out of town guest needed repairs and the service was friendly, done timely and seemed to be quality work. I don't know about my friend and how the repairs have lasted but I am very disappointed with what I have discovered about my repairs. My thermostat wasn't working which in Florida is usually not a big deal unless you have a need to defrost your front window so you can see how to drive in the early am (5am). The cooling system flush they suggested lasted for about two weeks. Now that was a gamble because they said it "might" help. I found out later it was more to it than that. I also had rear brakes done at their recommendation due to road vibrations. I was ok with the work because I had noticed the vibration. Well guess what... I decided to get a second opinion about further work that needed to be done because when I got the vehicle back it was leaking oil. Seemed to be a coincidence since they told me I need valve cover gaskets. Sure enough I do need gaskets but not at the $530 they wanted to charge. It was also discovered by an independent mechanic (not a dealer or another auto shop) that the rear brake job that cost me $352.05 was half _ _ _done. They didn't surface the rotors and put the pads on w/o the silicone backing on the pads. The break job not done completely is what disappoints me the most because they didn't do a complete job. My new mechanic found the problem they missed with the cooling system. I was able to get the valve gaskets done for $400 cheaper than they wanted to charge. At the end of the day I'm actually investing more money than I would have spent here to get my vehicle in shape to last me another 3 years until I finish school . the difference is my new mechanic is focused on identifying and fixing the problems that will help me achieve this goal. Instead of a bandaid and half fixing. Unfortunately I won't be back and will be warning my friends. Oh and I should also mention that I had to spray the inside of my vehicle with air freshener and clean greasy oily finger prints off of the inside and outside of the door after they finished with it... it smelled of sweat and oil... reminded me of a locker room. A friend has used auto ER for years with excellent service and laser-guided repair recommendations. Today I called for the first time because I'd picked up a bolt through my tire and needed a fast fix. They told me to come whenever I could. It was fixed practically before I could take a seat in the waiting room (too bad - lots of free snacks and drinks!) and THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME A DIME. If this is how they treat first-time customers I am looking forward to being a loyal returnee. read more

I have been taking my car to the AutoER for 2 years and I have had exceptional experiences each and every time. I could write pages about how much I value the care, quality and expertise they bring to the work they do. I truly feel that they care not just about my car but about me as a customer and have on many occasions gone above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and 100% satisfied with my service. I was in an auto accident in July and was facing the stress of dealing with insurance issues, phone calls for rental cars and figuring out how to get reimbursed for everything. When I arrived at autoER without an appointment they assured me they would take care of everything, provided me a rental car on the spot and made all the necessary insurance calls and billing arrangements. Their repair was timely they kept me informed at every step, and detailed my car at the end!! Afterwards I noticed an odd squeaking noise in the drivers side door. I brought it back a little nervous as many repair shops would have brushed me off or denied the issue. Instead they took my word for it and worked tirelessly to find and fix the noise. Even after I brought the car back 3 times when the noise came back they were extremely apologetic and patient. Autoer has customer service like I have never seen. Without an appointment they always fit me in and even work overtime to give me a ride or finish my car the same day. I brought my car in at 2pm for new breaks thinking Id have to leave it overnight but they were done by 4! I never mind waiting as the shop is clean, comfortable, they provide refreshments and free wireless. Like I said I could go on and on about how this is the best service you will get in Gainesville or anywhere. I unquestionably recommend AutoER. Working with Bobby and the AutoER team has been the silver lining to what could have been really difficult and stressful situations. It inspires me to see a team take such pride in providing exceptional care and making sure every customer is 100% taken care of. This is a standard I rarely experience anymore and can only compare it to the "Nordstrom" philosophy (but without the price markup!). You will not be disappointed with their service. read more

Just wanted to update the review that the company called me and left a voicemail (I was traveling when they called) offering to fix the car at the original estimated price. I wasn't interested in fixing the car with them anymore (having to leave my car with them for another 3 days), and I found a less optimal solution that saved me over $1k. However, I do appreciate that they made an attempt to rectify the problem, even though it was a little too late. I'm feeling very satisfied with the service I received from Auto ER Collision Repair. My car was in a crash which left the hood, bumper, and one headlight banged up. I have custom paint on my car and I was worried that it wouldn't look the same after the crash. Auto ER did a perfect job on my car! Auto Disaster! After being involved in a vehicle collusion, I discovered Auto ER via web (aka Auto Disaster) and was impressed by how highly reviewed they were. After having my vehicle towed to Auto Disaster, I had to wait 4 days AFTER Auto Disaster received the vehicle until I received a quote from Auto Disaster, costing extra in rental fee's. This was just the beginning; I was given an outrageous overpriced quote for repair work and body work. I requested to scrap some of the unnecessary cosmetic body work included in the quote but was quickly denied due to "the high safety standard" that the shop enforced, eliminating from any flexibility with their quote. When I found matching replacement car doors for a fraction of the costs, Auto Disaster was willing to use the doors until they found out the doors were matching color of the vehicle, and did not need to be painted (I'm guessing because of loss of labor charges), when the shop learned of this detail, they retracted agreeing to use the replacement doors and said to either do the job fully as quoted or to "get my vehicle out of their shop before they begin charging storage fee's" Once I found a shop to transfer the vehicle to for work, I gave Auto Disaster a heads up, but later received a call that the tow truck driver was told by the shop that they were closing early and could not release my vehicle to them. After calling and speaking with Mike, the owner of the business, he denied the shop ever said that and instead turned the tow truck away because they could not allow a standard tow truck to remove my vehicle from their shop, since it could potentially damage their business. Mike begin to express his displeasure with me transferring my vehicle to another shop, and started unprofessionally ranting for a long time about the other shop owner, and ended the discussion by stating, that I would regret transferring my vehicle from them. I sent a tow truck with a bed the next day, as required by Mike to retrieve my vehicle safely from his shop. I learned that for some reason they dissembled the vehicle after the first tow truck attempted to pick up the vehicle. Since the shop was "Busy" and could not find the tire that they removed, the tow truck driver had to locate and mount the tire back on the vehicle for it to be assembled to tow. After the vehicle was towed out, I discovered that my headlight was missing, after calling and talking with the owner Mike, he informed me he would find out where the headlight was and call me back. After waiting 4 hours and making several calls to the shop, only to be told each time that "mike left the office, and we don't know when he'll be back" and that "everyone in the shop is unavailable because the shop is busy" I left a message after the 4th or 5th time calling stating that I would be contacting the sheriff's office regarding the headlight. Within 3 minutes of leaving the message, I received a call from Mike, clearly hostile and angry Mike began by saying, "so you think we stole your light? Well you got us, oh yeah, you really caught us red handed". I asked Mike if he found my headlight or not and he very angrily replied "Yes, and I want YOU to come down and get it, ONLY YOU! I WANT YOU TO BE HERE, I WANT YOU!" in a manner as if Mike was challenging me to some sort of physical altercation. I've never experienced anything like this from a business before, it was absolutely insane! I went down (only me) to the shop. Surprisingly, Mike wasn't at the shop when I arrived, and I was given my headlight back without any issues. It's quite clear that this shop is money hungry, unethical, extremely unprofessional and just downright the nasty looking to take advantage. Don't fall victim to the overwhelming online positive reviews as I did, it's like they say, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. I have never been to a shop so crooked. I had my daughter bring her car there, they told me it needed $2000 dollars worth of repairs. I had it done and the car still did the exact same thing. Brought it to another mechanic and he had it fixed for $100. I asked around about them and found out they pay tow truck drivers to convince people to bring their cars there. They have also had a huge turn around in employees. Which is a sign of a bad shop. They either screw the customer or screw their employees. Thats not someone I want to give my hard earned money to. read more

I went into AutoER because my brakes were squeaking, which I thought was the brake pads needing to be replaced. They performed an assesment and told me that my brake pads were fine and all they needed to do was to deglaze the brakes and machine rotors, which should be rather inexpensive considering they don't have to replace any components and all they are doing is basically sanding down a few parts on the brakes. However, the bill was well over $200 because they added on a unnecessary brake cleaning charge and charged me $200 for one hour of labor which is ridiculous for this repair or any repair for that matter. read more

My daughter took my car to Auto ER after hitting a deer for a quote. The price was reasonable and she proceeded with allowing them to take care of the repairs. My husband and I went to pick up the car and found the shields under the car that were damaged had not been replaced. When we questioned it, they immediately deferred to their quote of services. We asked for a further explanation as to why this was not quoted as it was a part of the damage. The response was "we do not put the car in the air when we give the quote". I thought that would be a standard practice. How can you tells what needs to be done. I had to pay additional money to get them replaced. Only for a week later, them to come off as I was driving. Thankfully two kind strangers finished taking them off so I could drive home. I was not charged to replace them but I had to be without my car again. The overall customer service and friendliness was ok. But hard to appreciate under the circumstances. Especially since we paid for the repairs out of our own pocket. read more

I never write reviews but this is a special occasion....... Horrible experience! They told me originally it would take about 3-4 days and ended up taking about 3 weeks. At one point i had to go and pick up my car simply because it was just sitting there with no work being done and i needed it. Took it back 2 days later and every time i called to ask for the status they just kept saying a few more days. After all the run around and having to ask my friends for rides I picked up my car and it still had scratches on it (the ones they were PAID to get rid off) needless to say i would never go back there and didn't even offer a discount for the horrible job they did! There were still several scratches on the side and their excuse was "oh i didn't even see that". This place needs better management, someone who knows what the hell is going on in their shop! How can a car sit there for 3 weeks untouched after i was told 4 days max! Save your money and go someplace else. read more
