While shopping my tint needs around to area shops, I found myself in downtown McKinney and decided to stop in unannounced to see if I could get a quote for my 2017 FIAT 124 Spider coupe. Upon entering, I was promptly greeted by Alex who was tidying up the shop after finishing another customer's car. I told him I would like a quote on my car, and he said the owner was out and asked if I had an appointment. When I told him I did not have an appointment, he went ahead and asked if he could help. (My first sign I was in the RIGHT place!) I told Alex I had just purchased a new car and it was hot- I needed tint but didn't want to pay for anything super fancy, just something that would cool the car and complement the overall look of the coupe. He carefully explained about the different products they had available, what each was used for and how the different manufacturer warranties worked, and then gave me a quote for the two door windows, citing that the back window which is hard plastic, wouldn't be wise to tint as the window is too flexible (on purpose due to it being a convertible top) and the tint wouldn't likely stay put. (My second sign I was in the RIGHT place- honest feedback!) Alex quoted me $125 for the two windows, and then told me he wasn't busy at the moment and could do the install while I waited- maybe 30 minutes. I agreed, then followed him to the work bay so he could show me the actual tint he had available. He cut samples and had me hold each up to the light so I could determine transparency while feeling the different thickness of the film. After making a decision, he got to work. 15-20 minutes later he came back in the shop to announce he was finished and to fill out my warranty card and take payment. This is my 2nd time in this shop, though I didn't tell Alex this, and he went above and beyond for me on this job as if I were a new customer. Not only did he listen to my needs, he made appropriate suggestions, and did a completely professional install on my Spider. It looks fantastic! Will definitely be back in the future. When I arrived, I was greeted and provided more information to make the best decision on which tint % I should choose. As I was walking out, they were taking my car to the back. I was told it would take 2 1/2 hours to complete and was called 2 hours and 20 minutes later. Went here with a Groupon after an extensive check of reviews to get my 2014 Subaru Impreza wagon tinted. Don't let the meager building fool you, these are top notch guys. The building is an old gas station from I'm guessing the 60's and the bathroom is even outside around the corner. Big squashy couch to sit on while you wait, if you choose to do so, but, you might prefer to drop your car off as there isn't much to look at or do while you wait. The guys that own the place will chat with you about stuff but they are pretty busy. Now to the meat and potatoes of the review. They do excellent work. I've owned and had many cars tinted by another establishment and paid a pretty penny every time. The initial look of the tint right after they do it at Auto Eclipse is perfect. There are none of the "water bubbles" left over that other places leave telling you they will dry up over time. This leads me to believe that the technician at Auto Eclipse actually takes the time to squeegee out ALL the bubbles leaving a perfect tint job. They computer cut the tint for a perfect fit here as well. They place "do not open" stickers over your window switches to remind you not to roll down the windows for a few days. No place I've ever used has done that before. Their tint is lifetime warranted for fading and bubbling. They had my car done in about 1:45. On a side note, a small piece of trim from the drivers rear door was damaged in the process of installing the tint (just a hardly noticeable scratch really) and George came to me to inform me that it had happened and they had already contacted the Subaru dealership and had ordered the part for replacement. I, for one totally understand that "shit happens" when working on cars and really appreciated their honesty on this issue. They could have just put the trim back on and I'd probably never have noticed. This, people, is a sign of a good honest shop that actually has a clue about customer service. Jesse did a complete vinyl wrap on my car in April 2019 - was white, now burgundy gloss. Car looks beautiful and Jesse was fair, honest and easy to work with. Some touch up work was necessary which Jesse did within a week (the vinyl had to completely shrink before touch up could be done) and without charge. He offers a 7 year warranty on the vinyl wrap. Overall I am pleased - only "unpleasant surprise" was that the underlying white color really came through when I had a door ding. Jesse did patch it to my satisfaction but there is still a blemish. I mention this for others considering a vinyl wrap, this is not a criticism of Jesse or his work. I would fully recommend Jesse as being fair and honest - he stands behind his work. read more

Wow, 4.5 stars?? I can tell you why that is, pretty much all of these reviews refer to tinting as the service performed, if you look at those that had their vehicles "detailed" you'll see something closer to my 1 star rating. I don't want to go on a long rant here, will just lay out the facts for why I believe I was not offered service equal to what I had paid for in all honesty, you can be the judge on whether to take your vehicle to these folks given my experience... What I had paid for: Full-Detail Package for Small Vehicle at Auto Eclipse Vehicle Condition Prior to Detail: Very clean, I bought the car a few months ago, don't have kids, don't eat/drink in it, and really only use it for my 10 mile trip to and from work. The car is washed/vacuumed/armor all'd once every two weeks religiously. When I showed up to redeem my Groupon, I was told that the detail is interior only and they will wash my car and utilize a spray wax. He mentioned they would use compressed air to clean the interior, clean and condition the leather, and shampoo all of the carpets. I was a bit baffled as a FULL detail includes both interior and exterior, however the gentleman stood his ground and told me take it or leave it. Since I had booked this two months in advance, taken time off from work to drop off my car, and had a ride lined up both there and back I was too invested and the car needed a wash. In hindsight I should have turned around and gotten my money back from Groupon. Fast forward to 7 hours later, when I came to pick up my car. I was in a rush to get to a doctors appt so did not have a chance to inspect the job done in front of the gentleman from Auto Eclipse, mistake #2. There was an RV parked next to my vehicle, some 12 year old kid walked out and asked me as I was getting into my car what I thought of their cleaning. I wasn't sure how to respond since this young man was clearly too young to be employed legally, and he had stepped out of an RV parked at the shop. Confused, I got into my car and drove off. What I found inside: 1) All of my belongings from the console, glove box, etc were thrown into a garbage bag in my trunk, I thought I had been robbed at first as no one mentioned this... 2) There was an oily residue COVERING everything inside my car, including the metal and plastic trim 3) My windows were covered in streaks and un-wiped spots 4) My carpets looked like they were clean, however there were some corners with dirt and the words embroidered into the mats that were still dirty that make me wonder if they truly were shampoo'd 5) My leather seats were covered in the same oily residue, not sure if they were cleaned and conditioned 6) Dirt in places such as shift boot leather folds 7) Bottom plastic trim at base of driver's side seat broken/unseated 8) Ashes/dirt in speaker grill in dash, if compressed air was utilized this would have been blown out At this point I was a little irritated, as my car was returned to me maybe slightly cleaner than when I had brought it in. When I stopped at my doctor I had a chance to check out the outside, and this is where I realized the folks at Auto Eclipse took me for a ride. What I found outside: 1) Some sort of water/soap spray marks covered the exterior, as if a car was washed in close vicinity and air blew it onto my car. 2) Bird droppings from before I brought the car in still on vehicle, these were on the car a maximum of two weeks and come off if you use soap and water... 3) Oily streaks/handprints from tire shine or interior dressing randomly over exterior 4) Bugs on front bumper 5) No evidence of spray wax utilized At the end of the day, I'm to blame for not noticing the warning signs prior to dropping off my car to these folks. These are my experiences, if you choose to take your vehicle here hopefully yours will be different, otherwise for auto detailing I'd stick with establishments that do this as their primary source of business... read more

I've driven past this building hundreds of times and never noticed it, but I came here for tinting on a dealer recommendation. The install was very well done, and the pricing was reasonable. Service was great accommodating my desire to drop off one day and pick up on the way home from work the next day. They finished a few hours earlier that promised the day of the install. Really the only thing keeping this from a 5 is that my car smelled like mechanic smoke for 5 days and I couldn't use the windows while the tint rested. read more

Appointment scheduling was fast and friendly and the day before received a call from them confirming the appointment. I had my car detailed on Saturday. The window's had streaks, the rims/tires were not shiny, there were dirt crumbs still right under the back seat, and there was still dog hair in the seat. We had to get our windshield replaced from a crack so that we could pass inspection. George had to order in our glass but it wasn't very long of a wait. Shop was very clean and the staff and George were very friendly. They got our new glass installed and all taken care of in an hour. He was also the least expensive for the work done. So, I stumbled upon Auto Eclipse through Groupon! I had a coupon for their window tinting services and called them on a Friday to set an appointment. The first thing I mentioned was my Groupon coupon and they welcomed that! They "squeezed" me in for an appointment the next day (Saturday) which was surprising since it was literally a last minute thing. 3 to 4 hours was my quote time only because they were working on a car before mine, so no problem. I only waited about an hour and half in their establishment after i explored Downtown and right off the bat the employees we're open for conversation!Jesse and George (I believe were their names) were great! I was the only one waiting so we got to talking about the DFW area and great attractions to visit, I felt very comfortable for being by myself, they even put Transformers on! They were right on with their quote time, I dropped my car off at 1 and was leaving right around 4, but once they actually pulled my car back, tinting only took about 45 minutes. They did a beautiful job! I drove about 30 minutes on two tollways (both there and back) to get serviced by Auto Eclipse and I would definitely do it again! Thank you guys! read more

So I woke up really early on a Saturday morning. I had a brand new car for about 3 months and knew I really needed to tint my windows. Every time I called a place they were booked for the weekend and it's really hard to give up my transportation to work during the week. I called Eclipse first thing Saturday morning, and George told me they were booked but to drop my car off and they will find time to squeeze it in. They typically close at 5 on Saturdays and I am sitting in the lobby at 5:40 while they finish my car. Got the complete run around from these guys today. I was told to bring my car in before noon and they would be able to tint my car windows before closing at 5. I drove 20 minutes out to McKinney and dropped off my car at about 11. My friend was nice enough to go out of her way to come and pick me up (also a 20m drive for her). I called the shop back at around 2 and was told that they hadn't started working on my car yet but would have it ready by 4:30 or 5 at the latest. My friend takes me back over there at about 4:30 and there was my car baking in the parking lot not being worked on. I was told by the front desk that it was just too busy today. I get in my car to leave and there are small rocks and dirt on the floorboard mat where someone had reparked my car, some more icing on the cake I guess. So thanks for wasting my time and gas money, my friends time and gas money and a big part of our Saturday. read more
