Instead of coming out and charging me to replace the windshield for a solution that he knew would not work, AJ called me immediately and let me know what the most likely problem was. He said the windshield replacement would not solve it, and that I needed to re-seal or replace the cowl under the windshield wipers. He was right.! I made an appointment online to have a small chip repaired after a rock smacked my windshield on…read morethe highway. The actual repair process was excellent. For a 9:30am Saturday arrival, the place was nearly empty except for 1 other person. The staff was friendly and the guy got right to work giving us the Safelite spiel and guarantee before the team took the car back to fix the chip. The waiting area was very clean and they have drinks, coffee, tea, and snacks for you to munch on while making fun of whatever TV show is on. It's a very chill environment. Less than 30mins later, my car's done. Of course, the chip is still visible (and that's the case unless you replace the entire windshield) but it's definitely better now than it was before and if anything were to happen with the chip, there's that lifetime guarantee that I can always rely on. My only wish is that they had: 1) More appointments available. I was scheduling right after Thanksgiving week so maybe that was why pickings were slim. 2) A wider window of availability since most of us work during their regular hours and don't want to opt for a 12pm - 4pm "they come to you" repair window.

I learned a hard lesson today about reading reviews before assuming a business is good because your…read moreinsurance company tells you it is. Went to Safelite in McKinney to have a 1inch rock chip repaired and in 15 minutes they handed me back my keys and told me my windshield had cracked out when they were trying to repair, an unfortunate event that almost never happens if the front desk was to be believed. When I went to check the crack it was about 10 inches long in three separate directions, not just cracked at the bottom. The manager (?) then immediately tried to sell me a new windshield at my expense. No "I'm sorry" or "I understand how frustrating bringing a tiny rock chip to be repaired and leaving with a $1200 windshield replacement might be". He just asked if I would like to have them set it up through my insurance or pay out of pocket. I didn't make a scene because I was nearly speechless at the audacity. There was a lady checking in next to me and they told her same spiel about, ".......small chance it could crack out and it's not our fault...". I told her that's not true, they just busted my entire windshield. The Frontdesk didn't respond to me but instead looked at the lady and said, "his was the first one in a long time". I had never been treated so unprofessionally or been dismissed so quickly. To have no sense of any empathy or responsibility is just shocking. Trust the reviews, this place is terrible. Please stay away and save yourself having to replace a windshield they break at your expense. Please see before and after photos below.

While shopping my tint needs around to area shops, I found myself in downtown McKinney and decided…read moreto stop in unannounced to see if I could get a quote for my 2017 FIAT 124 Spider coupe. Upon entering, I was promptly greeted by Alex who was tidying up the shop after finishing another customer's car. I told him I would like a quote on my car, and he said the owner was out and asked if I had an appointment. When I told him I did not have an appointment, he went ahead and asked if he could help. (My first sign I was in the RIGHT place!) I told Alex I had just purchased a new car and it was hot- I needed tint but didn't want to pay for anything super fancy, just something that would cool the car and complement the overall look of the coupe. He carefully explained about the different products they had available, what each was used for and how the different manufacturer warranties worked, and then gave me a quote for the two door windows, citing that the back window which is hard plastic, wouldn't be wise to tint as the window is too flexible (on purpose due to it being a convertible top) and the tint wouldn't likely stay put. (My second sign I was in the RIGHT place- honest feedback!) Alex quoted me $125 for the two windows, and then told me he wasn't busy at the moment and could do the install while I waited- maybe 30 minutes. I agreed, then followed him to the work bay so he could show me the actual tint he had available. He cut samples and had me hold each up to the light so I could determine transparency while feeling the different thickness of the film. After making a decision, he got to work. 15-20 minutes later he came back in the shop to announce he was finished and to fill out my warranty card and take payment. This is my 2nd time in this shop, though I didn't tell Alex this, and he went above and beyond for me on this job as if I were a new customer. Not only did he listen to my needs, he made appropriate suggestions, and did a completely professional install on my Spider. It looks fantastic! Will definitely be back in the future. Thanks for the GREAT work, Alex! -Troy S.
