BYOB on adult nights.
Holly O.

Although I had attended a kids party here before, last night was the first time I attended adult night. It was so fun. It's 18 and older and they card do don't forget your ID. It's also BYOB. The skates were in better shape than I expected and the facility is charming, old but clean. They had a Dj and the music was a fun mix of recent songs and throw backs. I look forward to skating here again!

My friend hosted her birthday party here and it was a great time. We went on an adult skate night and you were able to BYOB. They rent out skates but not blades/inline skates so if you want those you'll need to bring your own. This place looked like an old school skating rink and hasn't been updated in a while but that adds to its charm. A huge plus was that the DJ was great and played such good music all night. Would highly recommend a visit!

This is the second birthday party we have attended at Austin Roller Rink. When you go inside it reminded me of skate night back in the 90s. While skating on the rink there is a section in the middle for the people who need to hold on. They play music but sadly you have to pay $1.00 for 2 songs. The concession sells ice cream which came in handy when leaving in the hot TEXAS heat. I know next time I come it won't be for a kids party!

Went to Austin Roller Rink during their adult Wednesday night skate! It was awesome. Friendly staff, DJ had some great music, and altogether fun! I hadn't worn a pair of skates in a couple of decades, however I didn't feel intimidated. The skaters range from super slick to beginners (me). I'm so glad to have given it a shot, feel like I will be attending more adult skate nights!

Very positive feelings about this spot. First time we visited. Our 7 year old daughter got skates…read morefor Christmas, and learned to get around the house pretty good on the tiled area. My wife, and I--(both 50 y/o)-used to skate every other week growing up, and were both really good skaters. Not anymore. We both thought it would be like riding a bike. Nope. She had a few little slips and falls, and made it around the ring just twice and gave up, switched to shoes, and just watched my daughter. I went out, got about a half a lap, but it was so hard, and I nearly fell a few times, in that short distance. I saw a smaller rectangular area, where kids were practicing, so I went in there, so I didn't slow down the main circuit. I took maybe 2 strides, and went tits up. Bad. Really bad. Little kids stopped to ask if I was ok. I was not. Not even close. I went flat out, like a cartoon. Legs went completely up in the air, and I landed flat on my back. I've never fallen like that in my life--I couldn't believe how bad I was now--I used to even skate backwards, back when I was 16. Anyways, I was down for maybe 30 seconds, then laughed it off with the kids in the area, and said I was fine. I wasn't. it was so hard to get back up, I could barely breathe, but tried to pretend I was fine, smiling through the pain. I walked back to the main seating area, thank the maker I didn't have to go back to main circuit, to get back to main area I was still fighting for breath, couldn't take a deep breath, and my lower back, bum, and back of my upper thighs were killing me with pain. we ended up staying an hour, my daughter was a great skater, and having fun, so I just kept pretending I was fine, and smiling. Asked my wife to drive home, that's how bad it hurt. Took a couple Advil, and 2 old, saved, pain pills I had from a dental issue a few years back. . Those helped, I got my breath back, finally, 2 hours after the fall. The next day, I had bad bruises all over my bum, lower back, and back of legs. I was in pretty bad pain for a couple weeks, but it was manageable, and went away eventually. Anyways, I learned my lesson, and wife did too, no more skating for us. We took my daughter again though, she loves it, and has less distance to fall, if she does fall. My only 2 minor gripes, took a while to order daughter some chicken tenders, never used a QR code on phone before to order anything, and they won't take a verbal order. Got that figured out, but it was close to 40 mins waiting for the chicken. By the time it was ready, so were we, we were ready to leave. She wolfed down a few bites, and we tossed the rest. They were very good she said, but we were in a rush to leave. My azz was killing me, and I wanted to get home to lie in bed! The other little gripe was the arcade. We all played a bunch of cakes, using their swipe card. I had a mental aprox of "ticket" points, and we had just over 400 or so. Went to prize counter, they scanned the card, and said he what 63 points. Huh? I know we got 150 points from just one game I was playing, to win her some "tickets". We told the younger guy at the counter, there must be some mistake, we had over 400. I suggested maybe we might have done something wrong, maybe we scanned the card wrong on the machines? He was friendly, said oh no, it wasn't you, it's the machines. He said some of them don't update the points won on the card properly, or aren't on "the network", it's a known issue, happens all the time. So I said, well I know we had over 400, can you just up our count, and let my daughter grab something in the 2-300 range as a sort of compromise. He said he couldn't do that, and could only give us the 60 odd points shown on the card. That was disappointing, but not worth causing a scene. Seemed so petty, the thing she wanted to get for 250 points or whatever was a small $3 toy at any 5 below etc.-if it's a known issue, they should have just let her get what she wanted. Oh well, all in all, we still had a great time the 2 times we went, and are going again tomorrow, for Labor Day, for daughter to skate around. We will probably skip the arcade though, and order her chicken tenders early.

We came here for my godson's 5th birthday party, and we just did the roller skating and food options, and brought our own cake to celebrate. Since we came in the morning, we had bagels, fruit, sliders, cookies, and brownies. They also had coffee available, as well as a cold water dispenser. The staff was great about getting everyone fitted with skates or rollerblades and out onto the floor. They even have skate mates available for those still getting the hang of skating, which really helps the kids keep their balance. The roller rink area is quite large, with entry and exit points located all around. There's even a kid-friendly, beginner-level area at the back of the rink so little ones have space to learn. I felt the floor was in good condition, and the rental skates were great too! I'm a pretty good skater myself, and I had so much fun skating with the kids and the other parents who joined in too. Can't wait to come back to experience more of the activities they offer!

Skating under lights with the Austin skyline in the background makes for some really cool photos and a memorable experience. Was able to purchase the tickets online for skate rentals and a one hour skating rink experience. This option for online reservations is nice since it can sell out during busy times. There is seating around the outside of the rink to sit and put your skates on. The rink in general was pretty crowded so not the place for fast skating. The temps were in to 80s so the ice was slushy and lots of melted water, but should be expected ted with an outdoor ice rink in Texas. It is a very festive atmosphere with Christmas decorations galore. Also there are food trucks and options to purchase food and snacks. Overall, a fun holiday activity and a unique way to experience outdoor an ice skating rink in Austin, TX.

We didn't buy anything but noticed that they had a Bar with Snacks, Seating, a Merry Go Round, and the Ice Rink. There were so many people there. The Bar line was long. The ice rink didn't have too many people trying it but the people attempting to skate were having a good time. This place was packed and full of life. Overall it's a cool place to take photos and family for an experience. I've only been during the day but I'm sure it looks really cool lit up at night.

Let's go, let's go, let's go!!! You got this. So, sheepishly I walk up to the counter and ask how much the entry fee was...$20 including skates... not cheap but not crazy expensive either. Ok. You can do this. I ask if I sit outside before I go on the ice. No problem the skate representative said. The fee included skating to 1 pm today. I had plenty of time to muster up my courage. My daughter's best friends started ice skating at this location a year ago, they did invite us at that time but my oldest just wasn't interested. After casually showing my kids figure skating competition videos, somehow this sparked my oldest's desire to learn. Our first time here was on 10/28/23 and we've been taking weekly lesson since then. I also registered my daughter for a one-day camp during Thanksgiving which I do NOT recommend for super newbie younger-aged kids, a little too intensive and they might lose interest and motivation. She really just needed more practice time on ice to get a hang of how to not fall lol. However, the coaches are amazing, friendly and energetic, you and your kids will enjoy the camp regardless. The fun-filled activities and lessons were worth the money we paid, It just wasn't what we needed most at that time. The Pond Hockey Club has a nice and well kept environment, I especially enjoy the warm room when my daughter grants me that option. It's always clean or being cleaned as the staff work really hard to keep this place pristine. If you're thinking about trying out figure skating, please email to schedule a lesson, you won't be disappointed. The cost of skate rentals and daily ice fees are rather simple and straight forward, give them a try!
