    One of my happy places!

I'm rating 4 for the awesome big wood floor! The food and drink selection is ok and the prices are decent. They have rental skates with 3 options: regular quad skates, speed quad skates and roller blades. On family day, adults with kids don't pay for entry. It's pretty clean and the bathrooms work. I love skating here. I only wish that they would tell indecently dressed customers to add some clothes when they attend in family day with children around. Wednesday nights are 18+ and that's when you can really groove.

Went on a Saturday and arrived shortly before opening time (2PM) and they let us all in. The pricing is very reasonable, the staff was great, and it had a feel of the 2000s like when we use to go as teens. The DJ was awesome and energetic and played a great variety of music and at one point did limbo and stopped open skate to allow for fast skating divided into 3 turns (kids, teens, adults). My group of friends had a great time and all said they want to go back.

Beginners are reminded to stay in the middle

Friends of mine have been telling us we need to try the Rollercade for months and I am SO glad we finally jumped in! Our first try was on adult night (Wednesday) and we were warned to get there early because there is typically a line. While the line did manifest around 7, by the time we showed up about 7:45 we were inside in a flash. Entrance/rentals are a breeze, $10 to get in and then $4 for skates. If you bring your own, skip the rental fee. You can also purchase a token for a locker to put your belongings in for $1. It seems many people opt to just leave their items underneath the seating around the rink and don't seem particularly concerned about theft which makes me think it's a trusted community vibe. Before we could even get inside we had made multiple conversations with the friendly regulars and security and could tell this place had a great culture! Upon throwing on our skates we were right in the rink and it was a BLAST! Even as a beginner, watching all the regulars dance and have such a good time made it the most fun. The music and lights add great atmosphere as well! Beginners should be warned that you will be asked to stick to the middle of the rink until you have your skate legs ready. During adult night some skaters can get pretty fast and intense, however it is apparent that everyone is watching out for each other and being respectful. Even as the rink got crowded toward the end of the night it wasn't an issue to have your own skating space and feel confident you wouldn't get caught in any collisions. A few notables: there is a snack stand which offers lite fair and no alcohol (trust me, this is a good thing when people get into the rink) and parking is tricky! Very slim lanes so plan ahead if you have a large car or parking makes you anxious. You are able to take private lessons with the staff if you want and we also got a tip that coming on a Thursday proves to be pretty dead, making it easier to practice if you aren't ready to throw yourself right in. Overall incredible and unique experience and I will be back for certain!

Adult skate night. First time here since derby days. Super fun. Slow skaters in the middle and fast skaters on the outside.

Toilet stall, four of four, no wheelchair access

Brought my kid here for an event and there are no wheelchair accessible toilet stalls. I don't particularly care if I can get on the floor so I didn't even ask about that, but if I'm going to have to hold it for hours or leave the building to go pee, we have a problem.

This is where I found Pouring Events Bartending. The owner, Kevin, was so responsive to emails and phone calls. Kevin and his staff were willing to take on a High School graduation celebration. At the end of the day it was most definitely worth having Kevin and his team catering and bartending. Our daughter graduates in 2 years and will definitely call Kevin and his staff again!!! My daughter requested a fully vegan menu with a gluten free option and Kevin was so helpful & thoughtful in planning our menu! The vegan lasagna was delicious (even the non vegans agreed) as was the fettuccine Alfredo, garlic bread, bruschetta, and Caesar salad. The Gluten free fettuccine was a hit for the "gluten free girlies", and the vegan, gluten free cheesecake bites were the bomb! I highly recommend hiring Kevin & his crew! They are the best! We had breakfast tacos, waffles, coffee, and a few other breakfast items, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was especially good. What surprised me most was how much more this place is than a restaurant. The historic home, museum rooms, gift shop, bakery counter, and beautifully maintained grounds make it feel like a destination rather than just a place to grab breakfast. The atmosphere reminded me of visiting a family home that has been lovingly preserved for generations. There is so much history throughout the property, yet it still feels warm and welcoming instead of formal. I was also impressed by the gift shop. It's packed with Pioneer products, baking mixes, Texas-made goods, and unique souvenirs. The bakery case alone is worth checking out because the desserts are enormous and looked amazing. We happened to visit on a rainy morning, so there was no wait. After seeing the property and experiencing the food, I completely understand why people are willing to line up on busy days. If you're visiting San Antonio, I would recommend giving yourself extra time here. Come for breakfast, stay to explore the house, browse the gift shop, and walk the grounds. It's a place that feels uniquely Texan and unlike anywhere else I've visited.

Be prepared for a wait since seating is first-come, first-served and the restaurant gets quite busy. Fortunately, the wait didn't feel long at all because we were able to explore the surrounding historic neighborhood while waiting for our table. Once seated, there was a bit of a wait for the food ( hence 4 stars), but it was well worth it. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. Our server, Martin, was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. The house coffee was a standout. It had a unique blend of spices that gave it a rich, flavorful taste unlike a regular cup of coffee. For food, we ordered the sweet waffle, and it was rich and buttery. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and equally delicious. The biscuits were soft, buttery, and flaky, while the gravy was flavorful. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
