I had such a terrible experience with Austin Pet Care that it's hard for me to even write this review. My cat Colbert was chained inside a van with the doors left open and music blasting. Angel doused my cat in chemical flea spray without even asking me first. I told Angel my cat had never had a bath before. When he turned on his terrifyingly loud water sprayer, my cat freaked out. My cat didn't calm down and he told me to run and get a bucket to put the water in. I frantically ran to get a bucket (why didn't HE have a water bucket???) and when I came back, my cat was running down the street soaking wet with soap and flea spray. W. T. F. I finally caught my cat (thank god) and Angel asked if I could rinse him myself. I said I could and so he left. I rinsed Colbert with water but little did I know that didn't remove the flea spray. My cat puked that entire night because he ingested flea spray. Angel was nice enough to answer my calls that night and give me advice (hence the 2 star and not 1 star review), but really that was probably because he was concerned about liability. And after all that, guess what? He gave me a $5 discount. FIVE DOLLAR DISCOUNT for having to chase my cat down the freaking street. The worst experience I have ever had dealing with any company. It started out very professional when I first called them to talk about the details of their service then when it came to the time of the appointment, they showed up an hour late and when I tried to help them with directions they wouldn't listen to me and wanted me to get in my car and come meet them. When I asked again if they would JUST LISTEN and let me give them the turns (since they were just up the street), the guy said he would "call his brother" and hung up! Eventually he arrived and the guy looked like a wannabe Euro Superstar. I was embarrassed for him. He grabbed two of my three dogs and put them in his van and said it will be $60 for every dog. Now this is interesting because on the phone "his brother" who is the one I spoke with initially told me it would be $40-$60 per dog depending on their "behavior". I don't know about anyone else but behavior isn't really the determinant on price however the complexity of the groom and if they have mattes, etc. usually are the factors on price. Anywho, I called back to "the brother" at the "home" office and asked him why all of my short haired dogs would be $60 across the board and THIS TIME he said it would be $60 across the board because I live in Round Rock (I live off Lamar just north of Airport) and now there is a mobile fee. What I say? Mobile fee? After all of these shenanigans, I decided to go get the dogs out of the Euro Van and escape with minor injuries. I went out to the van and said I don't want your services anymore so please give me my dogs back. He said that will be $60 because he "already started". Well if the hair on one part of one ear of my dogs face is worth $60, then Mr. Euro should be rich and not schlepping it in a van doing dog grooming. Then I said, I am not paying $60 for this, he said well then $40 for the mobile fee to come all the way OUT HERE. Look tight pants, you are a MOBILE vet groomer and way OUT HERE is in Austin you POS. I really just said NO, I am not paying you anything and give me (insert expletive here) my dogs back and so he did. Then I ran in the house and locked the doors and peeked out the windows until his Euro scarf, sunglass wearing tight pants ass was gone! Voila! Bottom line: DON'T DO IT. We were stuck in a pickle and needed help getting a shelter dog from his transporter to our home. Mark, the owner, was not totally ideal to work with when we tried calling to set the taxi service up, prioritizing his workout over our needs, but still, it got scheduled and we were grateful. Greg picked up the dog and his paperwork from the transporter and delivered the dog to our house but accidentally left with his paperwork and rabies tag. Mistakes happen, this shouldn't be a big deal. He text-confirmed he had it all and would bring it the next day. I'm thinking problem solved. Then, he completely disappeared, not responding to phone calls or text messages for 2 days. WORSE, his boss who owns the company, Mark, refuses to rectify the problem. I was very friendly and calm and asked if he could please just handle this and get all the paperwork from his employee so we don't have to re-vaccinate an old and sick dog. I thanked him and told him I was going to let him handle this problem now instead of me continuing to try to find his employee, and he said "don't hand this off to me, no" and hung up on me. I'd never trust someone who cannot take responsibility for basic customer service with taking responsibility for my pet. read more

I used Austin Pet Care since I heard about them from my friend. I used them for the Pet Boarding service while I was out of town. I typically am hesitant to leave my house alone with somebody I don't know to take care of my dog. The day that Ramon & Selene from Austin Pet Care came over to meet my dog, Canelo, there was almost an immediate bond between them, so I knew my dog was in good hands. You can tell Ramon and Selene have a lot of experience taking care of pets since they are naturals. I have also used them on a couple other occasions since things have come up on the weekends and they have always made time to go out of their way to take care of my dog. Selene has taken care of my cat Henry a couple of times now while my wife and I have been out of town. She and Ramon have always great about keeping in touch while we're gone, which was a real plus last time since the cat inexplicably decided he wanted to hide the entire time we were gone. We got pretty constant text updates from Selene, who was a real trooper crawling around on the floor to locate the cat way under the bed and let us know he was ok. They've always been professional at communicating, exchanging keys, etc. The house is always in great condition when we get back. Anyway, 5 stars for pet care -- I can't speak to the problems others have evidently had with the grooming service, but I'd certainly recommend Austin Pet Care for out-of-town feeding/playing. read more

I had angel come to my home Monday to groom my shih Tzu. I will post what he replied later for all to see how rude this man truly is! He of course just like everyone said got lost coming here. I drove to get him. Anyway I took my chihuahua out there first and asked for her nails to be done. I myself can cut them but I don't get them that short that's why I paid him. Then I brought him my other girl! Angel wanted to know how to cut her. I brought him my male shih Tzu to say like this one. He nodded his head and asked me for some towels. I guess they don't have their own supply. So after he was finished my baby was happy of course. She was cut way shorter than my boy. I didn't see the razor burns at this time. The next morning it was very clear. She has four or five places where he hurt her! I texted the brother late last night sending him pictures of the spots. Angel got very nasty this morning about it all. I want you guys to know my dogs are very loved and taken care of! My dogs go to the vet! They do not have fleas! They sleep in my bed! And they only go out once a day for a walk. We use pads normally. I got some disturbing accusations from your side. That's very uncalled for. First of all, is over 40 hours ago since we went to see you. My only fault is that I forgot to mention to you that she had already a burned or a rash on her thigh probably due to fleas infestation. She bit and bit herself and caused damaged . About the nose and neck injuries she had none when sent back to you. You would have noticed it or I would have told you. I don't hide to customers this kind of issues. Is unprofessional and cowardly. If you want to blame someone for your pets bad conditions blame yourself. She was in extremely bad shape when I got there. I went there to rescue her more so than anything else. So please stop blaming me for the lack of attention that your dogs receives daily. Your chihuahua had huge nails. She can't walk like that and can develop arthritis problems from this. Nonetheless, I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. I have done this for many year and have encountered throughout my life people like you Who blames others for their own faults. The truth does not sin but hurts. It's hard to believe this guy Angel (the owner and groomer) is still in business. I had a horrible experience with him! I had read the wrong Yelp reviews (another business). I never would have given him a chance if had read his reviews - which are just like this one. When we made the appointment we said that our dogs are a very rare breed, so we didn't expect show dog cuts but needed to be able to work together and make it better over time. They said sure we will, send us a photo. We did, then they argued that they wanted a photo of our (overgrown) dog not an example of one with a proper cut, which made no sense. But he does not want to be told ANYTHING at all. When he came, he had never GROOMED or even SEEN this breed, didn't do ANY research, had looked at the one picture we sent and CAME WITH NO MANUAL. No pictures. Nothing but his arrogant attitude. Real, trained groomers never work that way. He wanted me to describe in words what I wanted which was not possible for me so I had to pull up pics on my iPad. He didn't like that, but silly me, I tried give him clear directions on what this breed should look like and he had a weird, crappy attitude. I should have showed him the door then but give him a chance. Big mistake. I had read a review of a cat running out his open van door, so I went quietly and politely out to tell him that my dog is a runner. He said VERY seriously "You disturbed my concentration. Don't do that again." That's the way you speak to your customer??? So when he brought my dog back in, his head looked way wrong, nothing like the photos I had to make him look at. So he acted like he understood, took him out again and when he brought him back I could see he did not want to listen my attempt to explain what was off. So and I said that I would just pay for the one dog today, not do the other one and be done. Then he got really, really nasty! I felt awful. He even refused to step outside, telling me that I wouldn't pay him, if he stepped outside. A VERY awful experience with an extremely arrogant, rude, nasty person! WARNING!!! Overpriced, Stressful to Dogs, Mobile Fees, & Rude Employees! If you care about the well being & proper treatment of your pets, please do NOT use this company and read what happened to me. After reading so many great reviews about Austin Pet Care Mobile Grooming, I thought I would give them a try. They did not offer me pricing for grooming my two dogs because they said they would need to see them first. Angel came out with his helper and told me it would cost $100 for my Aussie Shepard & $60 for my Mini Aussie Cattle dog. Be it known, that I take them to a kennel and am charged $45-35 for each of them, for the exact same services. I told Angel it was too much and I was declining the service, then he proceeded to complain that he had to drive an hour to my house ( not my problem...when Ramon said they could service my area). In addition he said that they normally charge $50 for coming out and getting cancelled. I told him I wasn't about to pay him anything when they couldn't tell me what it was going to cost me for the services until they saw the dogs. And Ramon had said nothing about any cancellation fee at the time of booking! Angel reluctantly said he would wash the dogs since he was already there and asked what I was willing to pay. I told him I would pay $70 for the Shepard & $50 for the mini cattle dog. He agreed to do so with some major attitude. During the bath, Angel handled the dogs very roughly. When they finished the first dog they put her on a choke collar & hooked her to the back bumper of the van with no leash, while she stood in the sun on hot pavement. His assistant proceeded to dry the dog with a loud blower, while the dog struggled & pulled on the chain because she was scared to death! They missed shaving her paws and went back over them, leaving them looking all torn up & unevenly cut. The smaller dog was rushed into the bath and never got her nails clipped as promised, nor was she dried properly or shaved completely! It was a disaster and extremely traumatizing to the dogs. Please save your dog/ animals the agony of this horrible service...it's NOT worth it! read more

I have NEVER taken the time to write a review on YELP before, but spent lots of time reviewing others. I have never had such a bad experience before with a company. The groomer that came out today was extremely rude, rolling his eyes, sarcastic and put off about how I wanted my dog bathed and groomed. It had been 3 months since our last grooming in which I pad $60 for this service using the same company. I should have gone with my instinct as I wasn't happy the last time, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Today, thinking I would pay $60-$70 again, while in the driveway, the groomer changes the price to $120 because I wasn't willing to use a certain razor that would shave my dog down to the bare minimum and he was going to have to you a "special" razor. I'm sorry, the natural breed of my dog is not supposed to have shaved hair, and I'm sorry if you have to work a little harder. If we weren't moving this week and unsure of how long it would be before my dog could get bathed and cut I would have told him to get off of my property immediately. I will never have them back and would extremely forewarn anyone who is considering using them .... to JUST SAY NO!! read more

My wife and I have had Schnauzer's over the years and finding a groomer is not always easy. We found Austin Pet Care on Craigslist. I called Ramon and scheduled a grooming for Rocket on the Saturday before Christmas. Angel was not only on time (he was early), he was very well prepared. My wife trusts no one with this 10 month old pup but liked Angel immediately. I poked my head into the van and Angel insured me he was familiar with Schnauzer cuts. He did an outstanding cut on Rocket and agreed to clean up our Chocolate Lab when he finished. She got a nail clip, a teeth brushing, and ear cleaning at what I thought was a fair rate. Overall, I think this company is great. They come to your home, plug in and go to work. Very good work, very professional young people, makes me sing their praises, Excellent experience. These people will rip you off. They're dishonest and don't even cut hair well. I've paid less for much a better cut and friendlier service from someone who comes to my home. I would have given 0 stars if possible. I called to get an estimate before I scheduled the appointment and the estimate was for $50 at most due to the size of my dog. When the service was completed his assistant came to my door and told me it'd be $65 and when I tried to give him the $65 he told me it was $75, that she must have just mispronounced. I told him I would not pay that much especially because the original quote was for $50. He got really rude, raised his voice and told me to get out of here. I'd totally recommend these guys to take care of your loved-furry ones. I have used several services from them. First was the mobile pet grooming with Angel, he was very friendly and patient. He explained what the whole service/fee was going to be about and what should I expect. He was very kind to my shiba inu puppy and took him for a very small walk before the grooming. He made him look all shiny and clean. It's an easy and very convenient service, since I work long hours. Later on, I decided to give a shot on the Dog walking/pet sitting service with Selene and Ramon. Both of them are very friendly, kind and reliable. Very responsible people. My dog has some anxiety issues and they have gone the extra mile with Queso (my dog) -That's why I keep calling them!. They keep me updated with my dog's behavior during the walks. The best is that I can tell my dog has been very happy and its what matters for me! :) Another thing is the schedule, sometimes I have to stay longer at the office and they are always willing to work out the schedule, which I haven't found anyone else to do such thing. Austin Pet Care is great! Their prices are affordable and they handle my shy dog with gentle care. I asked Angel to not shave my dogs ears and tail and I am always pleased with the results. I like that they come to my house and groom my dog in about an hour right in my driveway. If you or anyone uses this company its at your risk. Don't let your dog look like Shit. So last week I called to get an estimate on grooming for my 10lbs dog. Spoke to a guy who said he would have to see a picture of my dog before giving me an estimate, but no more than $40 for a dog that size/weight. Seems fair so far. I texted him a picture and received a call back (very promptly) saying the cost would be $40 since he was actually 20lbs. I tried to explain that he was 10lbs, but the man argued with me. (He must know my dogs weight through a picture better than I do?). Called back today to schedule an appointment and spoke to the same guy. I guess because I didn't mention that we spoke earlier this week he told me it would be about $50 even though I told him it was a 10lbs dog. Strange. Didn't use the service. I'll go to PetSmart where they'll do it for $35. So much for trying to support local business. read more

I really like Angel! He has come to our house twice...the first time he was early, calling to make sure that was okay, the second time he was right on time. He's fast and efficient. My baby (a mini schnauzer) never has any cuts...her ears are always well groomed, something I've had past groomers skip over. The first visit, he gave her a mohawk to look like a donkey (the husband's request), which turned out perfectly. She always smells good and is super fluffy. Today, he told me she was experiencing pain in her jaw and I should probably look into it further. Thank you! I didn't know and am very grateful to him for going above and beyond to tell me. This was an interesting experience! Today was the first time I've ever used a groomer for my cats....and I would like to add, I have never bathed my 7 year old cats. These guys were great! They got to my house on time and groomed my cats in the amount of time they quoted me. There was a lot of patience involved in the process.... Especially because my cats do not go outside and just when we were taking them to the car, the neighbors landscapers showed up firing up all the equipment. My cats look great and are seemingly not traumatized. They even said they were surprisingly good for it being the first time... Even though I heard the shrieking of my female cat... These guys are sweet! I would like to add that if you are looking for a big fluffed up rig, this is not what they have.... But they don't need it, it works, they are efficient, and my guess is that these guys will be really busy in no time, so book now:) read more

I used Angel with ATX Mobile for the first time - it was very easy to schedule an appointment (did it via text) and my cat was WAY more comfortable than she has been in the past at the groomers. Angel was friendly and flexible, open to adjusting to what would work best for my pet. The resulting shave was very good - even and clean, despite all the large knots that my cat had. I was able to get both the cat shaved & dog's nails trimmed in less than an hour, and the whole experience was cheaper than the past groomers I used! Would definitely recommend them! read more
