I have two Bichon Frise dogs one is just a puppy. She has only had one grooming, however her previous groomer allowed her to come for Table Time to get used to the noises and they would trim her nails she is only 7 months old. Upon scheduling here the owner required me to pay $30 per dog just to schedule my appointment. When I arrived I explained that the puppy had mats on her ears and they would need to be shaved. She called me about 30 minutes later to let me know my puppy had "such bad mats that she had hematomas." I arrived back shortly, her ears were wrapped to her head in a tight bandage. I immediately took her to our vet. She confirmed she did not have hematomas, however she was cut. I did not complain-I actually sent a complement to them for my older Bichon's haircut. My husband thought he looked great. My puppy still has thick scabs at the tips of her ears inside and out! Upon checking out I was pressed to reschedule. I have an Italy trip scheduled and was unsure of the arrival home date. Because of my puppy's cut ears the groomer did not cut the ears correctly and I was told I needed to bring her back- She has a vet appointment to be spayed the next day she is scheduled for the hair-cut fix. The groomer said I need to reschedule due to her surgery the previous day. I called to be sure. They have no openings until July 1st. We are out of town. My older pup is scheduled on July 5th. We arrive home on the 5th from memory with no calendar in front of me I was off by a day when the check out person wanted to schedule-the owner, Jade sends a snarky text that my dogs must come 8 weeks out (they are the ones who have zero flexibility) . This business owner informs me that we are not a good fit- No apology for injuring my dog, causing a $150 vet visit. Just a lovely text stating we are not a good fit-Guess What? You are 100% correct we are not a good fit and you are a terrible business owner

Three visits all in one 1.) My first 2.) My last 3.) One too many…read more Unprofessional, inconsistent and strangely odd after hours business practices. My healthy & happy 7yr old Cairn Terrier was (partially) hand stripped by Sara. Sara suggested that I come back a second time for a follow up stripping since it can be very stressful for the dog to do an entire coat in one session. I agreed and scheduled a follow up hand stripping session in a week from that date. A few days after the session with Sara I realized that my dog was suffering from a condition called Candida (no fault of Posh Paws) which is a yeast build up in the gut that causes the microbiome to be disrupted. One of the symptoms is flaky/yeasty skin and hair loss. I politely emailed Sara that I would need to postpone the next hand stripping session for a month and/or until I was able to knock the Candida out of his system. Fast forward to a little more than a month later when my dog was 100% back to his usual healthy self... and Sara emailed me the following... "Knowing what I have learned about the condition since your last visit I have reservations about grooming him again. If he were my dog I would avoid stripping and just clipper his coat. I would also recommend finding a groomer at a vet clinic that you trust so his issues can be addressed promptly. I wish you the best of luck finding a good fit for Hamish and his grooming needs." This is absolute nonsense! He's 100% healthy and needn't be in any veterinary care whatsoever. Anyone who knows anything about Cairn Terriers' coats knows that clipping the coat is NOT the correct way to groom the breed. Hand stripping is the proper grooming technique and also much healthier for the dog's overall health and well being. It appears that Sara just doesn't want to work with my animal because she's paranoid about liability. Why? Does she have a reason to be afraid? Makes zero sense whatsoever. At no point did I even remotely suggest that my dog's condition was caused and/or exacerbated by her grooming in April. I'm baffled that a supposed "show dog groomer" would schedule a follow up session and then send the aforementioned gibberish email. Posh Paws charged $120.00 for a partial hand stripping. Not overly expensive but when you factor in all Sara's odd rules, regulations and strange requests i.e. "Don't park on the street, park in my driveway... Don't call us during business hours, Call after 8:30PM! If we don't get back to you it's because we're extremely busy and/or out of town and on the road with show dogs" etc... etc... It's not worth my valuable time and effort to jump through all those strange hoops. I have an amazing groomer in New York City who is far more professional and forthright. I'll be heading back there soon for work and will be sure to get the job done right the first time instead of playing silly games with this unprofessional "Home Based Groomer". BUYER BEWARE: Since this IS a home business, it is sorely lacking parking, proper doggy day care and/or crates for when the animal is waiting it's turn and then finished being groomed. The grooming area is literally the size of ONE HALF OF A ONE CAR GARAGE!

During the holidays, when its so hard to get a grooming appt, I called them an was glad to hear they could come out much sooner than taking the dogs to our usual groomer. I canceled that appt and told MC that I canceled our standing appt to try them! The day they are to arrive, they never show. I called and called, no answer. Then finally a text, she's lost, then 30 more min, she's run out of gas? And hour later, she's got a flat tire?! Seriously? I was furious. We finally rescheduled for later that week, I had to reschedule, but before I did I asked if we could for sure still get IN that week and she said YES. Never heard from them again. Bottom line: if you live in Central Austin they are probably fine. However, they advertised in the local Dripping Springs paper that they NOW service our area. They DON'T. They don't know the area. We live in a GATED subdivision with nicely paved streets and she never asked me when setting up the appt where we were or whether or not we were on a dirt road, but She then used that as her excuse later. If you live out here there are much better more professional groomers. Hill Country Pet Resort and Just Four Paws. Don't get left hanging with dirty ungroomed dogs at the last minute. Anybody with clippers and time could have accomplished this. 4 hours and $100+ later, I expected the quality of cut my dog had received in the past for a lower price and in less time. I'm not sure if they have new staff or if someone was having a bad day, but this did not live up to my previous experience here and we'll be looking elsewhere in the future.

One of my first thoughts, and I realize this is just ridiculous on my part, was to avoid the oil spots on the asphalt after her bath. But then I reminded myself, the building and the parking lot have little bearing on what goes on inside. It's a no frills front desk operation, to be sure, but I peeked around back and it's super cute back there. There was a joyous reunion when April saw Jessica again, and as always, Jessica did an amazing job. I loved what another reviewer said: "Jessica is literally the doodle whisperer"! Our old groomers no longer seem to work here, but we still rave about the kindness and care the team showed our pups back in 2021. 2026: Our new pup arrived to us covered in mats so severe I had to trim some myself, leaving him a bit uneven. We scheduled a grooming session but didn't realize he would be receiving a "first-time puppy cut," which is different from a full grooming appointment. I completely understand the difference, but I wish I had been informed upfront, as I was expecting a full-body cut--especially at the price we paid. A month later, we tried a different groomer, Ivy, after seeing a Goldendoodle cut on their Instagram that we loved. She did an amazing job! As a reminder, per most pet grooming policies, all dogs must have up-to-date vaccines before their appointment. Additionally, there is now a late pickup fee if you arrive more than 30 minutes after your pet's session is completed.
