We were in a pinch, and a neighbor recommended Just Four Paws. My husband made a call, and we were able to drop off our pup the next day. He stayed for over two weeks until we got our family emergency resolved. We are so grateful. Our puppy is too young to be neutered, and boarders do not like to take intact pups. I get it, but sometimes things happen. I am so grateful to Marc for being willing to watch our pup. I hope to get some puppy training done soon. read more

Marc was able to trim my skittish dogs nails when no one else could (they've cut his quick before or refuse/can't even when I provide a muzzle). If you're looking for a social call don't expect it, just expect pure service and very reasonable prices. If you have any concerns or questions, advocate for yourself/dog, you have free will. Noticing that a majority of one-star reviews are people who didn't even board their dogs and judge by "hearing dogs barking from afar" (y'all it's a kennel). This guy takes in all kinds of dogs and has such a relaxed attitude because he knows it calms them. I don't know how he does it, but it happens and happens well. We've been to a lot of groomers over the years, but there are very few who've been able to get our Airedale looking like her breed. Just4Paws does an amazing job and at a very reasonable price for the area. We are so glad we found them and don't plan on going anywhere else. read more

Extremely disappointed by this guy's unprofessional behaviour! Brought my Retriever for simple nail trimming... he takes him in.. comes back out in less than 5 mins and drops the leash across the counter... with a lame excuse "sorry I cant do this.. he is biting me and fighting me"!!!! I do not understand why are you running a pet salon if you are that incompetant & unable to even do a simple job! This is NOT the first time my furry boy was getting his nails done! I started using Just 4 Paws in 2007. I have never been disappointed. They took care of my first dog even as he was aging with special care. Now our second dog goes for grooming and boarding. We just acquired a pup and hope to use Marc's wife for training. I trust Marc and his wife with my beloved pets. They have 24/7 on premise personnel. They are prepared for emergencies. Marc the groomer is very talented and patient he did a fantastic job on my sheep dog Molly his prices are extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend bringing your pooch to Just four paws We have been using him for more than two years and when I saw the previous yelp reviews I felt that the truth should be told. Not sure what these other reviewers were talking about. To groom and cut a sheep dog can be challenging and he does it perfectly everytime and might I mention at a really good price. read more

Looking at the pictures on here does nothing to make me want to check this place out.... but the main reason I would never bring my dog here is because I can always (and I mean ALWAYS) hear the dogs barking and howling from there when I go to the Bee Cave dog park. It's right behind their business. It sounds like the dogs are in distress similar to a dog pound. read more

The guy here is a great groomer we have a pretty large dog I'm having coming now for nearly a year every six weeks and the haircuts have been perfect also really good pricing I would highly recommend not sure why yelp stars are so low One last point that I particularly enjoy is that before and after the dog is groomed they are not kenneled like some of the chain stores like to do read more

Marc is and incredible groomer and an even better person. He is one of the most level headed and fair business owners I've ever met. Every single customer is treated with respect and every dog is treated with love and compassion. The staff is extremely friendly and the facilities give the pups lots of room to play and rest. The kennels are always cooled or heated depending on the weather and the doggos always have plenty of water and food. Julie, the receptionist, is an absolute sweetheart who brightens anyones day just by talking to them. We boarded our dog here for four days in December and definitely do NOT recommend it. When we dropped him off we were effectively dismissed--staff had no interest in his feeding, health or behaviors. It was clear the staff member wasn't listening. They didn't afford us the opportunity to inspect the boarding areas. If we'd had any other options, we probably would have walked out. We wanted to pick him up at 1pm when we got home but they said we couldn't come until after 4pm when we called to say we were on our way. When we finally picked him up he was absolutely filthy, very subdued and skittish which is so unlike him. He is an older dog, very placid and incredibly friendly--even to strangers. We asked the lady how he'd been, she just said 'fine' and carried on her business. It was clear she just wanted us out of there. Their customer service is pitiful. He was completely exhausted, could barely keep his eyes open, which is unusual for him. From the state of his coat and how tired he was it seems like he was kept to sleep outdoors. We got him home and bathed him, then called them (less than an hour after pick up) to ask them about two large red sores on both his hind legs and two lesions on his neck (looks like he'd been attacked or bitten by another dog) but to date (6 days later) our call hasn't been returned. We decided to give them a few days to respond before posting this review but clearly they don't care. Do NOT use this company--they will not take care of your pet. read more

Well on the positive side I was happy they weren't completely booked up when I began looking for a place to board my dog 3 weeks prior to July 4th. And the owner (who was at the front desk when I arrived) seemed nice enough. However, two things disturbed me: So as mentioned above I booked my dog Sam for the week of July 4th, three weeks prior to the 4th. Their website advertised $25 boarding per night, and when I called I confirmed that price. When I arrived to drop him off on the 2nd there was a big white sign taped to the front door that stated "EFFECTIVE TODAY OUR PRICES HAVE INCREASED" (and by the way the new prices were not changed on their website, which I checked that day). Really?!....so two days prior to a major holiday you increase the price $5 bucks per day, when you know its far too late for anyone to change their boarding plans, and with no prior notice at all. I call that bad business practice. So his stay ended up being $40 extra, as the bath also went up another 5 bucks. Its not that I think this is an unreasonable price, but I think it was a shyster move to increase the price without notice on one of the busiest dog boarding holidays of the year. They bring Sam out into the front desk area and I'm while I'm distracted with settling the bill I get that immediate sense of "oh oh"....and look over to see a pile of poop on the floor which my dog is devouring. This because they keep a cat litter box in the front lobby and receiving area. Eww gross! So from now on I'll book way in advance at my regular place, where I get report cards with gold stars and smiley faces on them telling me about my dog's experiences, and Sam has his doggie day care buddies, and where when they did increase their prices after three years, they put the notice on their door two months in advance! (I'd tell you where but I don't want to have to compete with you for boarding come the holidays; I'm just that selfish). read more

Chaotic, Aloof, Disorganized Boarded dog here for about 12 days, non-consecutive, May/June of this year. Compared a few places & choose Just for Paws because they appeared to be the lesser of evils (ok, maybe not 'evils' but we weren't thrilled with any of the options in our area). So, on the positive side, they let us bring the dog in for several hours to test out the facility & see how she interacted in the play area with other dogs. Very well, just what they should do to get business. Unfortunately, I had to wait 10 minutes to be helped, then got only a mini-tour of the place because they seemed to be understaffed/stretched thin. The front desk person didn't seem to know much about customer service. The facilities were not impressive. The indoor runs that I saw looked run down, a bit too dirty even for a dog facility. There didn't seem to be much natural light, either. Outside play area was not ideal. They said the dogs are out in a playgroup for HOURS. Like, up to 8 hours. Many other places would only give your dog two 15 min. play times/day. This sounded excellent, but who knows if they really did that... Clearly the chaos was directly related to the number of dogs out at one time (maybe 10-20 dogs???). But there was only one staff member outside with all those dogs. I just can't imagine what would happen if something went wrong. During boarding our dog came home with a can't-miss-it sized scab on her nose. They didn't notice it or tell us about it. On another visit, she came home with a pimply skin problem on her head. I called to see if they had other reports of this or had noticed it. He said they had no reports of it but that he had started to notice it (but again they did not report it to us). We had to take her to vet & although it was no big deal & may not have even come from boarding, I just feel like they need to be more proactive & communicative. Both incidents made me feel like they are too aloof. Oh, and just like another reviewer, we checked out their website which showed one rate, only to arrive and find another rate which 'had just increased' (again before a major holiday). To their credit, they did give us two nights at the old rate. Still, I don't have patience for outdated websites - it reflects poorly on your business and your attention to detail. As far as I'm concerned they should have honored the old rate until they could get their marketing materials consistent. read more

A lot of the reviews here are really old, so I wanted to post about my recent experience. I really like this facility. I have a 1-year-old Doberman Shepard. She is a big hyper puppy who needs a lot of exercise. I called a lot if different places before bringing her here. Most of the places I called keep the dogs in small, cramped cages, or they only let them out a few times a day. They also price gouge the hell out of you. One facility I called told me they have a mandatory $30 "play orientation". If you don't have time for the orientation, they bill you $45. Fuck that. Another place required a nasal vaccine, so even though my dog has had all her shots, they were going to require me to pay to have her re-vaccinated nasally. A third place was going to make me pay for a mandatory flea dip, regardless of whether of my dog actually has fleas. Other places charge "per day" instead of "per night", so if you stay overnight, you get billed for two days. Ridiculous. I really like this facility because they don't have any of that BS. It's $35 per night. No stupid mandatory orientations, re-vaccinations, or unnecessary flea dips. The dogs stay in runs, not cages. They also let your dog out to play all day until they close, which means your dog does not spend the entire time cooped up in a tiny pen and can actually run around and play with other dogs for the majority of the day. That was a huge plus for me because my dog needs lots of exercise, and this is one of the only facilities that will do that. When I arrived, they had a bunch of the smaller dogs up front with them, which I thought was sweet. They gave me a tour of the facility and showed me all the yards. The staff is very nice, and they listened and were responsive to my questions and concerns. When I picked up my dog, she didn't seem traumatized or scared like she normally does when I board her. She was happy and tired out! I love that she got to play. She has been sleeping all day ever since I picked her up. The only negative I have is that they close at 6, so it is very possible that the last time your dog will be let out for the day is around 6 pm unless you specifically ask for other arrangements. They told me they do have someone come check on the dogs 9-10 pm but do not let them out unless they act like they need to go. I asked them to please let mine out at 9pm every night, and they said that was not a problem. I think they just need to make this the routine for all dogs - I know mine would really suffer if she wasn't let out before bedtime, and it kills me to think of her trying to hold it that long. read more

I took my senior citizen dog there for many years. They treated us kindly and I always felt like they took extra good care of her. Knowing that they would be extra cautious with her due to her age, helped give me peace of mind when I had to leave her. My only regret is not finding them sooner! read more

I only got as far as a phone call to ask about tours. I couldn't hear anyone on the phone for several seconds but I heard several different dogs barking. Finally I said Hello, Can anyone hear me? Our dog Pongo comes twice a week for daycare. He absolutely loves it and comes home exhausted - he can't wait to get there and runs out of the car every time we arrive - just we want from a daycare. Marc and team are fantastic! I never think twice about leaving my pooch in their caring hands and that's priceless. read more

After having my 4 month old Boxer stay at a different boarding place in Austin for 5 days, and coming back skinny, with an eye infection, and with diminished manners, I was desperate to find a more high end place, that would train him. I saw this place on yelp and liked the location. I stopped by just to check it out, and right then and there decided to leave my pup there for 7 days for training. The owner was kind and informative, he have me a your of the place, and I met all the other dogs. He introduced me to his beautiful dog, and let my dog play with the others while he evaluated his personality. When I called to ask how my dog was doing, he was extremely informative and answered all my questions in detail. The facility is clean and in a great area. read more

We have been taking our dog, a very high energy German Shepherd mix, here since he was a puppy. We also took our two previous dogs here without incident or complaint. We have never had a problem or concern with the staff or facility. They have always gone out of their way to take care of our dog, who has numerous food / environmental allergies requiring a special diet as well as multiple medications. It is certainly not as though we would just leave our pet anywhere- we don't have children, this is our child. The fact that we leave him here at all says how much we trust and appreciate all they do to care for him when we aren't around. read more

My dog and I love this place!! He gets audibly excited when we pull into the parking lot. They always take good care of him! Everyone of the staff knows his name and is happy to see him. He's never gotten sick after being here either. They give him his special diet and medication daily. Sometimes we come for doggy day care and other times he's stayed while we were on vacation. I know he's had a good time and played hard because he usually passes out when we get home. We appreciate the quality of care he gets at Just 4 Paws!! read more

Unfortunately, in my opinion, this kennel and it's owner Marc, are major disappointments. The place needs to be cleaned up and better organized and could use some renovations to bring it up to normal standards. If you leave your dog there, be forewarned that there is a lack of supervision of the dogs at play, and that should make you nervous about how safe they really are. Not a great experience here. We dropped our dog off for a bath and quick trim because we couldn't get into the place we normally take him. The guy at the desk is the groomer (seems to be the one in the place) and seems nice but the office area is covered with a layer of grime. We dropped the dog off at 9:00 and at 2:00 we call and are told he will be ready by 4:00. I show up at 4:00 and the guy is grooming our dog (he's still the only person in the place) and judging by the amount of hair on the ground he has been working less than 20 min. He mumbles something to me and keeps grooming. After about 10 minutes he says that the dog took longer to dry than anticipated (he's been there for 7 hrs at this point) and he needs 20 more minutes. I leave and come back after 30 minutes - still not done. I wait 10 more minutes before he is finished. He gruffly takes my credit card and says nothing. Don't know if he was having a bad day or what but we will not be going back here. read more
