We were doing home remodeling and were able to get the tile off ourselves but really didn't want to deal with the thinset but Austin Dustless did a great job of quickly and efficiently grinding it all down. If there was dust lying around, they did a great job of cleaning it up. They can also help dispose of tile and they're super friendly. What I think set them apart for us was just the professionalism in getting an estimate. One of the best experiences I had in my house renovation! They were prompt with all communication and on time for the estimate and removal. They did excellent work for a very reasonable price, and it was totally worth it for the reduction in dust. Plus, spotlight on Joe the crew leader for going SO far above and beyond. After the job was over and they left, I started to open the dumpster to throw something else in, not realizing a bunch of tile and bags of tile dust were pressed against the doors. I have removed tile myself, and had it removed. This is NOT dustless, but it is definitely lower dust, and absolutely worth it. Every project comes with it's issues. These guys have been great about working through the issues. I posted my original review without calling them first, so shame on me. They responded to my review directly and positively. The concrete was left very clean and smooth, and while we did have dust, it was manageable and mild. The flooring installation process actually created more dust than the removal. But that was a different company. With the setup that we requested, it got them off to a late start. A quick phone call and more crew showed up to knock the job off. This was on a Saturday as well. They offered that to us to keep us on track, as this happened a week or two after the snowstorm. read more

I highly recommend Austin Dustless. We had to retile our entire downstairs, and were concerned about the amunt of dust this would produce. After finding the company online, I gave them a call. They promptly scheduled an estimator to come out an give us a quote. He was prompt and professional, and gave us a price within 24 hours. I will say it was some of the best money we ever spent. They were excellent with communication, and coordinated with me so that I could schedule to have our furniture moved to save time. I love how the concrete looks after the removal of my glued down hardwood. Before I give pros/cons about my experience, I need to clarify that me and my kids stayed in the house throughout the process so we are well aware of how loud the whole removal is even in separate rooms away from the working areas-the workers DID let me know it was going to get loud but I never thought it would get THAT loud. There were times I was able to smell like a wood odor but nothing strong and it didn't last forever. I recommend this business to anyone looking for a dustless experience. When we spoke to Arianna in their office, she was professional, great to work with and happy to help us with getting an appointment scheduled for measurement of the area and a quote. This company provides such a great service. We have an open floor plan and needed about 350 sq ft of tile removed so that a new floating plank floor could be installed. I had been dreading this flooring project because I thought the tile removal would be a nightmare. I figured that grinding all the thinset off our concrete subfloor would leave a dusty mess for days. But then I found Austin Dustless, and I am glad I did. Basically, every piece of equipment they use has a vacuum over it, so the dust from breaking the tile and grinding the thinset never gets into the air, so it never has a chance to settle all over your house. I was a little skeptical that any tile removal could really be "dustless," but Austin Dustless got it done! I can't think of any other way to describe this removal than "dustless." I stayed home the whole time they were working and was not bothered at all by any dust. The vacuum and air-filtration machinery is noisy (not to mention the demo hammers and grinders) but with earplugs in, I was able to work comfortably from my home office the whole time. Also, the grinding got our concrete slab so smooth that it required zero extra prep when our new floor later got installed. Worth every penny. They tackled a big 900 square feet of tile demolition on a total of 2 floors in 1 day. They showed up promptly and completed the work as promised whereas everyone else wanted 3 days to complete the job. Not to the reason it's only 4 stars. Although they sent a small army of 7 workers, the team fatigued and started gouging the concrete. This left dozens of divots ranging from 1 to 4 inches and up to 1 inch deep. This, combined with scratches on our hardwood flooring, led to our asking them to fix the divots before we payed tile. To the owners credit, he came out promptly and patched the divots. However, as we could prove who or what machine scratched the hardwood during the demo process, I chose not to bring it up. I used Austin Dustless today. I contacted them via their website on Sunday night. They called me on Monday morning and scheduled to come to my house on Tuesday morning. This was great news as there was lots of very dusty, chalky, unhealthy thinset all over my floors. They were supposed to arrive at 10. They were a half hour late but they called in advance and let me know they were running a tad behind. That is OK by me. Just show up near the time you are supposed to, don't make a habit of being late and call if you won't be there on time. So many contractors don't seem to get this. Anyway, they got here and got straight to work. They were professional, courteous, fast and friendly. I had called four other businesses that claimed to do dustless floor prep. Austin Dustless had the best price and they were DUSTLESS. Unfortunately, I tried a DIY last week. This resulted in Home Depot rental fees and an incredibly, dangerously dusty house. I wish I had gone to Austin Dustless first though I probably would have done the calculations and thought "I can do this cheaper."
