Tomato soup

Fancy restaurant where the owner advertises that a lot of celebrities come here by decorating with all their pictures on the walls. The service was nice and the decor is homey and clean. Its a larger restaurant than it looks on the outside with many different floors and an outside seating area. We highly recommend the eggplant parmesan! The tomato soup and the pizza were just okay but usually we would not have ordered a pizza at a place like this. We were just in a hurry to catch a ferry. I imagine the other items on the menu must be better.

Beyoncé, JayZ, blah blah blah ate here. How do we know? Giant pictures of them in front. Supposedly the nicest dinner in Capri. Fully booked yesterday. Got a 730 reservation today. I'm writing this review as we eat. Get here at 7:10, ask if we could wait for our 730 reservation as my wife wanted to shop a little down the block. They said better to sit now. Surely we can wait for our actual reservation time. No. Ok. We sit. Where do we want to sit? Anywhere except on the street tables. Why? Because they are reserved. Reserved how? What did our reservation entail? I see no less than 5 tables open on the street. We take table closest to the street, inside. (In the picture, you'll see both the celebrities they display and the completely open tables that they refuse to allow anyone to sit in. Except for charming Italian people it appears.) Waiter comes to take our order at 7:25, sigh could have walked down to the shop wife wanted to see. Waiter doesn't bring olive oil and vinegar with bread. We ask on his next go around. He brings them. Oops, nothing to pour them in. Waitress realizes 10 minutes last, brings them. Breads decent. Pizza margarita is good, saltier than the others in Naples. Came out 30 minutes after order. Spaghetti with anchovies is somehow under seasoned? Wish they would have offered cheese, salt, anything really... but no just a single candle and a flower. Condiments aren't stylish enough I suppose. Came out 50 minutes after order. Shrimp fried 3 ways, comes out 75 minutes after our order. 30 euro = 6 small shrimp. Not even the batter or sauces were interesting. Water has been empty all meal. Finally getting asked if we want more. Yep, sure could use water refilled once during a multi course meal. Do we want desert? Ha, no. Annnnnnd meal finished. Still hungry despite ordering 3 courses. And it appears they now are allowing reservations to sit on the street. Yep fuck this overhyped mess of a place. Go to Anacapri/Capri and actually read the yelp reviews. There's a reason this place is expensive and poorly rated. Too busy looking for celebrities to seat at their outside tables to focus on the common folk. We've had delightful meals at the top 5 yelp reviews restaurants in Capri/Anacapri. We went off script for this one, I guess the celebrity photos work after all.

I am seating in a completely EMPTY restaurant on Father's Day. They are unwilling and refusing to accommodate our party to a decent table . Not helpful! Rude and would not ever return

Our experience was good. I had my cc concierge make our dinner reservation about 2 months ago. Our party was 6 people (4 adults, 2 kids). They gave us a table in the back of the restaurant which literally was super cool (considering it was 90 degrees with humidity outside). We didn't care to sit on the front patio...don't really know what the hype is about unless you went to be seen stuffing your face. We could care less about who visited the restaurant, we care about the food :). The chef sent out a complimentary fried cheese dish; the kids had 2 Margareta pizzas and it was so good we ordered a third for the adults to share. It's different...it was a super thin crust almost like a cracker but it didn't get soggy with sauce. Again we ordered a 3rd for the adult appetizer lol. We also ordered tuna tartare, lobster salad and squid dish...all were really good. And we ordered 2 truffle pasta dishes (AMAZING!! You have to order) a baked meat cannoli (YOU HAVE TO ORDER) and the sliced beef. Then we had the tiramisu and apple tart desserts. Regarding service, we are from the US but are well traveled...service in Europe is NOT like in the US. People saying waiters are mean, etc. I don't know what the expectations are of the people who have a bad review were. It's not the US service level, they don't work for tips as in the US. Flag the waiter down if you want another water. And price range...it's definitely €€€€. But it's a white table cloth restaurant in the center of Capri with high quality food...it's not Naples. Check out my receipt I posted. In addition I posted pics of the food. I would definitely recommend.

Wow this restaurant is beautiful. We sat in the inside (better because there is air conditioning). The service is okay, it took a bit to get our food but that's okay. The chef brought us the fried mozzarella for us to taste (on the house). It was spectacular. So fresh and tasty. The lentil soup was also delicious. The fish carpaccio was extravagant and the best so far was the pizza with truffle! Omg it was to die for. I'm definitely coming back here. The ambience is very vibrant and it's definitely where all the cool people go to.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I went to this restaurant on my day trip to Capri thinking that it would be wonderful as so many celebrities have claimed that it serves their favorite food. I will say the restaurant is absolutely beautiful but that's about it. My party and I were there eating lunch. We arrived just as the restaurant opened and even though it wasn't busy, our waiter was running around like crazy but funny enough, never seemed to give his tables any real, personable, attention. He was rude, frazzled, and quite honestly seemed disgusted by the customers in the restaurant. The service was inconsistent and my party were constantly searching for our waiter to ask for more water/drinks as he frantically ran about never stopping to ask if we needed anything. My party ordered a tuna appetizer to split and instead were served raw, soggy, shrimp that we truly couldn't eat out of fear of food poisoning. We questioned the waiter and he rudely informed us that we requested the shrimp (and of course charged us for it even though we hardly touched it). We also ordered two "pizzas" to share but I could hardly call them pizzas. They were stale saltine cracker crust pies smothered in cheese. We ended up spending over 100 euro for two miniature "pizzas" an appetizer we hated, and two coca colas. How is that even possible?!? We all left disappointed and hungry. Save your money, don't believe the hype. Try another restaurant in Capri. I wish we had!

We even saw him take a bite of the communal Parmesan cheese with the spoon from the dish (and the mother returned it to the bowl) which prompted us to not use the Parmesan. The pizzas were hot and fresh, we ordered the Davola and salsiccia e friarielii. Both were delicious but in the end, we love a tomato based pizza the best and should not have wavered. A glass of house wine was surprisingly reasonable at just 5 euro and was a standardly nice, juicy, easy to drink red. The bread was incredibly delicious. The smokiness from the wood oven made it possibly the most delicious bread I can remember eating. No butter. No olive oil. Just delicious. We would have loved to have tried a few of the pasta dishes that looked delicious, so our recommendation for a couple is to get a pizza and a pasta and share them. The salads also looked fresh and large. As many places in Italy, there a fee to sit at the restaurant and be served. 8 euro for both of us. The next day when waiting for our ferry ride, we popped into a pizzeria and grabbed another pizza diavola to go...what a let down. The pizza at buca di bacco was within a euro or two in price and 100% better. If you haven't had a good pizza in Italy and find yourself in Capri, at least grab one or two of their pizzas to go and eat them near the ocean overlook. Don't forget the chili flakes You will be quite content.

Nestled on the side of a cliff in Capri, is this lovely place. It took our group of 8 on quite the trek down the side of said cliff in the hot Capri sun. Well it was worth the hike because the view was spectacular and the food was phenomenal. We basically ordered the entire menu but the standouts for me were the scallops, the fresh raw oysters and the seafood risotto. Of course the seafood tastes like they got it right out of the ocean. The service was also beyond amazing. Whatever we asked for, it was there with minutes and the table was quickly cleared of empty dishes and my wine was replenished a satisfying amount of times. I'm sad we couldn't experience the beach club but the view helped with the FOMO...btw the hike back up the cliff was intense. I'm grateful I'm in somewhat decent shape. An alternative to the uphill hike is a water taxi from the restaurant which requires advanced booking.
