Keep in mind this is south of Italy so people naturally have an attitude. I was sat down quickly and offered water. I ordered a pasta carbonara and mushroom ravioli. This was probably the best in town. It's authentic and was loaded with lots of flavor. The pasta here sits lightly which is such a great thing being in Italy. The presentation of the food was well thought out and very impressive. I recommend.

    Fritto misto (delicious)

My partner and I were trying to track down some fritto misto in Amalfi (which was surprisingly difficult). We say that this place had it so we stopped in to get some. Turns out they have a one plate per person minimum so we had to order a second dish (octopus with buratta) and also got two beers. Feed was good (as good as some of the fritto misto we've had in Venice, octopus was bland though), but was put off by the two plate per minimum.

Fine dinning experience at a decent price. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious. All of us extremely happy with our meals Have a pic of appetizer and dessert

We've learned to never trust Yelp reviews in Italy anymore because the low rating here is not deserved. After being in this beautiful country for 3 days, this was our favorite meal so far. The server was extremely nice and made sure everything was perfect for us. He even gave us a hook to put our bags on the table. The food was also amazing, the pizza was even better than the pizza we had in Naples. The drinks were also great and relatively large. To top it off, prices were fair, paying only around €60 for pizza, two main dishes, and two drinks. Will definitely be recommending to others in the area!

My wife and I are on vacation in Sorrento and booked a boat excursion to Amalfi and Positano Coast and found this restaurant. We were in a rush because of the limited time frame the skipper gave us to explore Amalfi. The service was quick and kind, they accommodated us with smiles and spoke english well. The food was amazing and we highly recommend this place!! My wife had the seafood pasta and I had the spaghetti with meat sauce. So delicious and large portions. Thank you for your amazing service and food!

Service was attentive, and the food was so-so. The best item we had was the Caprese, so if you simply must dine or have an aperitif here, our group of four enjoyed the freshy fresh mozzarella. I was not familiar with the concept of paying a cover fee to sit outside, so that was a surprise, but apparently common throughout the region. There are scenic eateries on every turn, so if your concern is the view then Locanda Del Marinaio can't be beat. If your priority is food, be prepared for a maximum of 'decent'.

Avoid! Do yourself a favor and go to another place. Pizza was terrible. Burnt and the waiter says it's the Napoli style...are you kidding me? There is no style in the world where they purposefully burn things down and make you eat it. Pasta was bland, I had better pasta at a food stand in the streets of Rome. To add insult to injury, they charged us a €3 cover charge.

My wife and I were searching for a place to eat while in Amalfi. With a dozen options or so, and few yelp reviews, we were in uncharted waters and had to figure out where to eat the old school way: spy on what others are eating, investigate their menus, and hope for the best. She spotted Locanda del Marinaio and after a 30 second due diligence process we decided to sit down. The service was great and we had a great street side table. I ordered the pizza Taramia and she had the arugula salad and grilled chicken. The pizza was pretty good; fresh vegetables, good sauce and sausage. The chicken, on the other hand, was a little bland. Altogether though, we liked the place and recommended it on the spot to others who seemed to follow our diligence process. Based on our "instant yelp" another couple also sat down and the place started to fill up. Long story short, I'd definitely give this place a shot. Their pasta dishes looked authentic and appetizing as well.

    Pizza and Cosmo

The spot is street side and cute with a good menu. We ordered pizza and seafood chowder and both were beautiful and delicious. The service was rather slow but to be expected but the Cosmos were out of the ordinary good!

    Bad Food! Rude Manager!! Avoid!!!

We did manage to throttle back and not eat all of it lol, as we wanted to still enjoy our starter and pizza. The oils provided were the perfect compliment for the bread, the salad (and the crust of the pizza). Salad was fresh and light. Pizza rolled out next and we still believe this to be the best pizza we ever had. Not heavy, but filling. The flavors were so rich and bright. Of course I had to have a local beer which paired well. The seating was outside, which was covered in an ivy like feel. It was lemon trees providing adequate sun coverage and of course looked beautiful. We would highly recommend checking out Donna Stella if you're in Amalfi.

There was a wait but they seemed to remember faces and I did get seated after about 30 minutes, though they did seem pretty busy for a Sunday night. I ordered the lemon ravioli since I had been eating a lot of pizza and read that people enjoyed it. In my opinion, the lemon ravioli didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, it seemed a little bland and didn't really taste like there was much lemon flavor and the quantity was a little small. Cooked well though. I think I would come back again but order the pizza instead. They did have a longer wait if you didn't make a reservation. Their lemon tiramisu (8€) was definitely worth it. Very creamy and not too sweet and had more of that lemon flavor that I was looking for. I wish I had come in a group, so they I could have tried more things, but no worries that can be next time.

We started with an amuse-bouche (compliments of the chef), which was a parmesan cracker with ricotta. We shared two appetizers among the four of us - a tuna carpaccio in citrus fruit and poached eggs with black truffle. The poached egg came in a sauce that was totally delicious and mop-able with bread. The tuna was fantastic and very light. For the main, our table split the pasta stuffed with burrata and black truffle and the risotto with red shrimp in lemon sauce. Absolutely incredible! The risotto was soooo refreshing and light and cooked perfectly. The truffle pasta was full umami flavor and a flavor party. We ended with delicious desserts, my husband got the hazelnut coffee which he loved and I got a lemon assortment. This had a lemon cream brulee sort of preparation which I loved. The wines here were also fantastic and the service prompt and great!

They only had 1 GF dessert so we opted to get the lemon sorbet. They also brought out a few GF candies as well. Overall the service and views were really nice but I wasn't a fan of my entree.
