Amazing pizza - thick chewy crust. Totally lives up to Neapolitan pizza ideals. The Greek salad was delish too. If I went back to Positano I'd eat here again. The server was pretty nice about getting us in and out quickly because our tour guide requested it. Tables are down a flight of stairs behind the restaurant - if you come through the front. The food was extremely overpriced. They charged a ridiculous amounts for coke (7 euros for each small bottle), and gave us bread that they charged us for later too. The service was rather rude too, forcing us to leave a review before we could get our check, and watching over our shoulder the whole time. This place is busy because of its location, not its food. We were sat quickly and seen to by a waiter who came by a little too frequently until we ordered. My baked local fish was supposed to be au gratin, but I didn't see any potatoes; the cod tempura wasn't far off from what I'd get from a Whole Foods freezer, and the caesar salad was made by someone who's read the description and never eaten on - just look at those big chunks of bacon! Cute little outdoor seating by the sea was the only draw about going to Capricci Positano. The service was sub-par with a "could care less" attitude about the customer, which morphed into an admonishing one. Apparently each outdoor section (non-labeled) is designated for different menu items. All my husband and I wanted was a quick afternoon dessert with a cold drink. What we got when ordering was indignation and a "You can't order that at these tables." When I raised my eyebrows, he allowed us to stay put. I know In the US, restaurants can have issues.... The worst meal we had on the Amalfi coast. Uninspired offerings that took forever to get and atrocious, unfriendly service. The salads were bland and the pizzas we split were insipid. Disgusting, dirty restrooms and just an overall ambivalence to their guests. Head higher up into Positano for a better meal and avoid this tourist trap near the marina. read more

Staff is nice and prices are fair. We only got a pizza that was recommended to us by the staff (no meat). It was my second favorite pizza on this trip but my wife's number 1. What made this pizza was the olive oil which made the pizza a bit messy but worth it. read more

Positano is definitely one of those towns I wish I had more time to spend in. We spent an afternoon cruising down the Amalfi Coast making a pit stop in Positano. Our guide gave us about 90 minutes to explore and told us "make sure you get something to eat!" We used our time to walk down to the water, wander in a couple shops and sit down for lunch at Capricci. The gal behind the counter was less than amused by us Americani as we tried to pronounce menu items but we made it though... ordering up a Positano Pie (mozzarella, cherry tomato, ham and zucchini) (€6.50) and an order of meatballs/sauce (€7.50). + a couple drinks - the entire meal was less than 20 euros. Both dishes were fantastic. Thin crust pizza with all those fresh ingredients - how can you go wrong there!? The meatballs were huge, and so flavorful, I think there were 3 in the order. I long to go back to Positano... if it ever happens I'll totally go back to Capricci. Lots of different pizzas and paninos to try. And I've been working on my pronunciations - I think the Capricci staffer would be impressed with my efforts. read more

We just spent a day on the beach and wanted a quick bite to each. Saw a bunch of people sitting on the side of the stairs leading up the hill and saw that they also served smoothies so we sat down and ate here. The pizza was soggy and they used canned Mushrooms and small pieces of proscuitto - the crust wasn't even good. Probably one of the worse places I've had pizza in Italy. They serve smoothies though so it was nice after a day on the beach. read more

Good food, awful service and organization. Came here twice while in the area and the first time the food was delicious and service was ok since it wasn't so busy. The second time was just puzzling and a nuisance. I originally came and it was busy, and I asked the host if there was a list I could put my name on, and if it was just better to wait there or return. The host said that they don't do lists, and that it was up to me on whether I wait or return. I told him I'd return, and when I came back I waited in what was a line in front of the host's station. Not only did the host and numerous waiters acknowledge me standing right in front of the station, but even smiled. After maybe 20 minutes of waiting, the owner came by and I asked what was going on, and he said they were no longer seating people (even though there were various empty tables). The food may be good, but when the owner acknowledges you multiple times while you obviously wait for a table without mentioning that they're no longer seating, that's just ridiculous. If you're in the area and it isn't busy, I'd recommend the place. If it looks even slightly busy, I'd skip it entirely, because they clearly aren't organized enough to deal with a high volume of people. read more

Service was great. Our waiter was very friendly and seemed like a funny character. We selected a fish from their catch of the day platter. It was $48 euro and they grilled it. Potatoes were extra. A seemingly touristy spot that actually has decent food for reasonable prices. We had only tried a sandwich and the octopus salad, but I must say, the octopus salad was definitely on par in taste and portion size with nearly all the octopus dishes I ordered all over the Amalfi coast, even in fine dining restaurants. I feel we were scammed. They have a menu posted on the door next to the hostess/cashier. We were not aware that this was the menu for only upstairs. So we knew what we were going to order because of the prices listed. BUT, when the bill came the price was different. THe pizza on the menu next to the door was $10 and we paid $16 for having it sitting down. Now, that would not be a problem IF they did not also charge us a table fee. We were 3 people and they charged us $9 for table service. THEN, they also upped the menu prices. They said these charges were for sitting in the restuarant. Again, I get it if they did one or the other, but to charge us an upgraded price and a table service because we sat down. I was really upset about this and would never go back. We were on a flying visit to Positano at lunch time so ended up here. The weather was lousy - and eventually started pouring with rain - so it was a good use of our time! We entered by going down some stairs and were seated out on the patio. There were quite a few flies (it was a problem everywhere we went). The patio area is covered and has plastic walls, which were open when we sat. Once the rain picked up I got up and closed the 'wall' as I was getting wet. The food was fine, but not amazing. I wasn't too hungry so I just ordered a couple of apps, which I split with my husband, who also had some pasta. My arancini were really very nice, lots of flavour. Unfortunately my mozzarella in carrozza weren't great - bland, and the accompanying sauce wasn't good either. I rarely leave fried cheese behind but I only had 1 of the 3 pieces. Husband seemed to enjoy his pasta, but wasn't enthusiastic. Service was perfunctory and could have been a bit more efficient. Luckily it all worked out and we got away in time as needed. It wasn't too expensive - if you're just doing pasta, you're looking at €10-€15 per person, including a drink. They do bring bread, and of course this means there's a cover charge (I think it was €2 per person). It wouldn't be my choice to return to but there's no reason to avoid Capricci, either. read more

We have eaten here twice a day during our entire stay. The staff is so friendly and I can say without a shadow of a doubt this is the best pizza I have ever had in my life. This place is quite overpriced, and make sure to double check your bill! They tried to charge us for two pizzas even though we only got one and gave us a service charge for 6 people even though there were only 4 of us. In terms of food and drink, the aperol betty was quite refreshing, and we got a caprese salad for two that had a giant mozzarella ball. It was almost as big as my head! The mozzarella wasn't very fresh, though, and I wish the salad had more tomatoes to balance out the mozzarella. We also got a caprizzi pizza that had a wonderful tomato sauce and lots of seafood on top. That was probably the highlight of the meal. The service was quick, too, unlike most I've experienced in Italy. Capricci is definitely meant for tourists, but it's still an okay spot if you're willing to spend a little more than usual and wary of them trying to scam you. read more

What a complete waste of money... Me and my wife had woken up from a siesta and worked up an appetite from our morning adventures. We decided to order something quick and fast since we had late dinner reservations that night. We happened to stumble across this place while walking around since it was near the beach. We figured we'll just order something to snack on. We both ordered their "pizza rolls" and some calamari. Absolutely TERRIBLE. Both of ours were barely microwave warm. Cheese was still hard. Mine had chips inside which were absolutely stale and cold. It took two bites into our food until we both looked at each other and realized we got screwed. My wife also ordered calamari, which took roughly 20 min after our first food came out. It was very chewy and bland. I understand you're in Positano, and everything is typically more than you would spend else where. But for 20 euros... we got scammed with crappy food. The pizza was really good and based on the food I would have given 5 stars. However, dropped it to 4 stars based on the service. I've been in search of the Bestest Pizza ever for the past week, while traveling Italy. I mean that's what a Pizza Loving Foodie does while in Italy right? Well li, probably gained about 10 LBS in the past week, eating about 2 pizzas a day, plus other local dishes but it's all worth it now. This was the last place I hit up at Positano, I wasn't even intending on eating out last night. I guess Capricci found me, cause this is by far the most tasteful, straight to the Taste Buds Margherita Pizza I've ever had. Next time, I would asked for it uncut, but since it was originally a To-Go order, I understood. They have a downstairs sit down restaurant, I just wanted to see why soo many to go boxes from this place where in all the trash cans all along the beach. Now I know, cause it's Hella Good. That why. Wish i would have come across them a week sooner, I'd probably be 5 LBS heavier and would have to check myself in at the airport luggage section but I'd be that much happier. All in all, i highly recommend this small 2nd story miniature balcony spot, overlooking the water of you're ever anywhere near the Amalfi Coast region. Climb, walk, drive or be driven here. First...these pictures don't do it justice. We were visiting from California for a two week stay in Italy. Stopped here for lunch. The pictures you see are from the top portion of the restaurant. They also have sit down on the balcony and down the stairs (go inside and look to the right for the stairs) on the patio with a view of the ocean. Its a great location with a great view! We shared plates we ordered. The mixed seafood plater was wonderful. I wish we had eaten at this restaurant every day. We shared a fruit platter also. I recommend all of it. It was a relief to have something other than pasta and pizza. They can also fix a western style breakfast with pancakes and eggs! check it out. I also agree with the others. We visited Capri (a waste of time) as it is very crowed. Ravello is nice with few shops all having the same thing (but the Estates there make it worth the trip). Positano is the nicest town we visited on the Amalfi Coast. Best for shopping and eating. read more
