It was literally bitter sweet, with the sweetness coming from the fruits, and the bitterness most likely from the liquor. It was still a good and refreshing drink. For the appetizer, I had to try their unique and popular pork belly s'mores. It looked like a dessert, but a sweet and savory dish. The pork belly was braised nicely and tender, with the marshmallow adding the sweetness. The homemade crackers were very nice, and the jalapeno added a nice kick. The main dish was the bourbon chicken. It was nicely tender and had a hint of sweetness from the bourbon. The rice went well with the chicken, and the broccolini was perfectly grilled. For dessert, the bread pudding with ice cream was a perfect end. Moist and delicious. It was getting full, so I was able to save some and enjoy at home too. The service was attentive with my bartender checking up with me occasionally. They were quite busy, but still friendly. The dining area looked dark and a bit more formal than last time I visited. But still social and relaxing. I didn't get to see the outdoor patio, but it looked nice from the inside. I parked at the UCF/Valencia garage, which was 3 dollars per hour. Sadly, they don't validate parking. I am so happy I ate at the Monroe for my last magical dining. It's been a while since I eaten there, but the food and drinks are still great. I must say the food was definitely high in calories, sugar, and fat, but it was well worth it. It's just that good in a very nice environment. Definitely will come again when I need southern comfort food! Overall: A

Such a fun spot for happy hour! We came in ready to relax and left already planning our next visit…read more The drink specials were generous and the vibe was warm and lively without being too loud to actually talk. Hands down the star of the show was the shrimp dish, perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and honestly some of the best we've had in a while. We ended up ordering a second round just to enjoy it a little longer. Service was friendly and attentive the whole time, which made the experience even better. If you're looking for a great happy hour with a standout menu item, The Whyskey delivers. We'll definitely be back!

We chose seats at the bar and were greeted promptly by Brian and Rowan. Because there were a lot of people and just the two of them, they were running around taking orders from tables as well as servicing the bar so it did take a little bit to get our drink orders in, but we were enjoying looking through the whiskey library anyways. I started off with a Suncreek blonde ale. It is strawberry blonde ale and it's delicious. My husband started with the Yingling. He keeps hoping they will bring the Kentucky bourbon ale back on tap again. For lunch, I got the whiskey dip which is full of chopped beef with cheese and onions. Served with an herb, dipping sauce, and your choice of side. I opted for the sweet potato waffle fries because they are delicious. My husband got a burger with fries cooked perfectly. Once we are done with our food, we did opt for a taster. My husband had to go through several different bottles before he found one they actually had in stock. That is one of the downside is the whiskey library that is online is not always reflective of what they actually have in stock as he was really looking forward to trying the old Fitzgerald birthday, but alas, they did not have it in stock. He ended up going with the jack Daniels 12 year and really enjoyed it. I opted for the widow Jane 14 year very sweet easy to drink. Great service from Bryan and Rowan always enjoy seeing them behind the bar

You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it shows in how he takes care of his tables. We started with the hummus appetizer, which was fresh, smooth, and a great way to kick things off. For our meals, we had the steak flatbread and the steak frites--both were cooked well and full of flavor, with the steak coming out tender and perfectly done. Everything came out timely, and Kenny checked in at just the right moments to make sure we were good. We couldn't skip dessert, and the strawberry bread pudding with strawberry ice cream was the perfect ending--sweet, warm, and really satisfying without being too heavy. What really set the vibe, though, was the music. Kenny's 90s R&B playlist gave the whole place a relaxed, nostalgic feel. We ended up staying for hours just enjoying the food, the music, and the overall ambiance. Definitely one of those experiences where the service takes everything to the next level. We'll absolutely be back.

I really liked that they had happy hour and that it was offered to us throughout our time there. Our server was attentive and made sure that every course we received was a good one. The food was okay overall. I tried to get a little bit of everything with my Magical Dining order. I do wish the tofu had a little bit more salt to it. It was seasoned well, but it was missing that actual salty taste, although that could just be my personal preference. The salmon, though, was seasoned to perfection! I will always remember that salmon because it was really good and flavorful and did not have that fishy, seawater taste, if that makes sense. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu. I really liked the variety of options they had, and I also liked the area itself. I could definitely see this being a place I come back to with the kids as well as for a date night in the future.

I look like I came straight out of the Jersey Shore (it's embarrassing).. was at this bar for the 1st time.. looking for a regular hangout spot.. my bracelet fell off, and I left my phone on the bar when I checked out.. nobody turned anything in.. my boyfriend kept calling my phone.. finally, somebody answered and told him to meet him at some random place and he wanted money for it.. so we did get my phone back.. and my bracelet yeah he had that too.. long story short, the bartender knew who he was because she remembered me looking for my phone and he's a regular. He is now banned (hopefully).. I felt like he was watching me the entire time we were there.. waiting for me to do some tourist stuff (and I did, even tho I'm not). I blame myself for not paying attention. But, I praise this bar for having my back!! They were awesome.. the bar is awesome!! I will definitely be back!! The decor was very classic- I thought it was so beautiful with the semi circle bar in the middle with the open kitchen behind it. We were early enough for happy hour which they have such great deals on drinks- $10 martinis "as you wish". For appetizers, we had the bread service and the beef carpaccio. The bread was great and the butter was so creamy. The carpaccio was so delicious that my daughter ate most of it For meals, we shared a lobster roll, the steakhouse burger, and Mac and cheese. The lobster roll was good but smelled a bit fishy than what I'm used to. The burger and Mac and cheese were both outstanding. My daughter had some sort of lemon lady finger desert with a candle since it was her bday- which was light on the sugar and delicious. We also had the key lime pie which I want to say is prolly one of the best that I've had! The service was incredible- Anna was our server and she was so sweet and had great suggestions. We had such a great dining experience here, I can't wait to bring friends here for HH sometime soon!

For appetizers, we tried the brussel sprouts and the burrata. We all agreed that the brussel sprouts were the best we've ever had. They had a kimchi vinaigrette making them sweet, savory and salty. Each bite really hit all flavor profiles and they were also crispy. For our second appetizer, we ordered the burrata which was served with a tomato and strawberry gazpacho. It was really fresh and it was a nice pallet cleanser after the brussel sprouts. For my entree, I ordered the Alabama chicken. I was excited because my friend ordered this last time and I really liked it. I was underwhelmed this time. The chicken was a little dry and the fried Mac and cheese was really dry. For dessert, we ordered chocolate olive oil cake, which was very moist. We also ordered the hazelnut panna cotta, which was a special. It was good but compared to the cake, it wasn't very memorable. As for service, it was excellent. It's a very small dining room and you do need a reservation.
