We saw the sign on the door saying masks required BUT we didn't have any on us because the mask mandate was lifted a month ago and no where else "requires" a mask. We also observed a gentleman walk out (may may work there) walk out without a mask. When I walked in, I got the coldest look from the woman sitting behind the counter. I asked her if masks were mandatory because of the sign on the door and she said, "it's what the sign says". Because we weren't dining in, I was just going to order it to go anyway. Because of her sour attitude, I took my business elsewhere. I will not be returning here EVER and I wouldn't recommend anyone who expects decent customer service to come here either. We ended up taking our hard earned money and business to Flavors of Jamaica on Osceola Parkway. The vibe and customer service was way better. I hope the older woman sees this and takes heed that you will lose business if you lack customer service.

Craving carribean oxtails and read the reviews on yelp…read more This is located at Kissimmee on Osceola pkwy area in a shopping plaza. Its kind of a challenge getting parking here I guess cause its a weekend and its a busy day to go. Upon entering the music of reggae / carribean music is playing its looked clean. Few tables and bar seating available. There is a section to point and see the array of foods they prepared but this day alot of the foods were covered in lids. I guess its a way to keep foods warm while sitting on the hot steam plate. The oxtail large plate was $25 with 2 sides plus choice of rice. Its a popular dish because when the lady tried to scoop oxtails all she had left in the pan was gravy. She went to the back and got more oxtails. She gave about 8 pcs of mixed sized oxtails. mostly large / medium sizes. She was "Careful" adding gravy and the oxtails as if she was counting how many drips of gravy and how many oxtails she was going to place in the plate - Also she was counting how many sweet plantains she was serving as a side. She gave me about 4-5 pcs of plantains. Seeing this I told her I want the cabbage in a separate container (Since she was careful with giving out the portions) - She then said its going to be $5 for the cabbage since its on a separate container. I was fine with it - even with the cabbage she was careful filling the container to the rim. This is why I decreased a star - Cabbage is cheap and plantains is cheap - Why so careful with these sides? I am paying a $25 plate - It should show that is how much food I am paying for. I am not sure if she was the owner (Light skinned older lady) - If she is then she should not be that cheap with portions especially on a high priced tag plate on her menu. They had array of fresh made juices I am unsure if they make them or they have a vendor - But they offered "Peanut Punch". Arizona cans (Tall) are $1 - I think those are the cheapest drink you can get in there. I saw someone just went in there and bout a few cans of arizona cans only. Jamaican patties are $3 - they offer curry and jerk chicken, mild, spicy. They had sold out of the mild patty - So I opted for the curry chicken patty. I asked about "Peanut porridge" that I read on yelp that was available only on weekends - But the lady asked me if I meant "peanut punch".. I was not sure but she said the Peanut Punch was $5. I asked for the frozen bottle since I had no plans on drinking the drink until a few days later. Let's talk about the food - Oxtails - The meats were fall off the bone and the gravy was thick and savory - however I think the taste - I like Golden crust gravy better as in taste. Golden crust gravy had more umami but this gravy is not bad - It was just kind of thick for my liking. The oxtails were def delicious though. Tender meat and like I said fall off the bone. Rice and Peas - This rice had a subtle coconut milk flavor in the rice itself - little sprinkles of the peas (beans) not much - It was ok rice .. It was dry for my liking - The oxtail gravy helped moistened the rice. Sweet Plantains - These were delicious. Sliced slanted and had the good amount of chew and sweetness. Just like the rice - Plantains are plantains they are either soggy or firm or just the right bite. Cabbage - These were ok - they were slightly bitter and overcooked. Somewhat too soft soggy cabbage. It had hints of sliced carrots - It needed more broth and black pepper taste to them. Curry chicken patty - These were delicious. The patty dough was delicious. The curry chicken was shredded chicken in curry and the hint of spice kicks in towards the bottom of the patty. No wonder they sell alot of the patties - They are delicious. I have not tried the peanut punch as yet - But I will update review once I do taste the drink.

I do love the ambiance of the restaurant, but the "young" lady who was in there was so unpleasant, so unfriendly, so unbothered, and so unconcerned. We waited 15 minutes before she acknowledged we were there. I understand that there are orders coming in from Uber, etc. At least acknowledge us and then continue. We only wanted 4 patties and a drink. The patty's were inconsistent. Some meaty and some barely with meat. But they all tasted the same, tasteless. They were not the Golden Crust patty's that I am use to. At least if the patty's were good, I could overlook the service, but I'm sure I won't be back.

The plantains were missing, the oxtail was horribly seasoned and didn't taste like oxtails. I also ordered jerk chicken, which clearly was not jerked today. I could not eat it. Had to just take the L and eat the festival. The oxtail was tougher than Clarissa Shields and Tesehki Malone combined. I called them to let them know that the meal did not match the description on the UberEats app and that the jerk chicken was stale. The person who answered tried to lie to me about the chicken being jerked today. I told her I could share pictures and her response was "I can share pictures too". Well, here are the pictures... If you want proper jerk chicken in Orlando, cross this place off the list. At least you can get fresh jerk chicken and rice and peas from CARIBBEAN SUNSHINE BAKERY. Avoid Golden Crust at all costs. The restaurants in Miami would be disappointed if they knew that they were up here selling foolishness to people.

She said they're supposed to open at noon. They didn't have much food prepared and only had 3 options available (oxtail, curry chicken, & brown stew chicken). I will say, although none of the employees seemed pressed to move quicker despite the being so behind-- they were all very friendly. We ordered oxtail & curry chicken, but was given brown stew chicken instead of curry. I didn't bother letting the employee know since we had already been waiting for a while & needed to leave. The oxtail & chicken were super tender, which was great, but lacked spice and flavor. The rice was superrrrrrr sweet! I'm used to rice cooked in coconut milk-- but this rice seemed boiled in sweetened coconut cream-- it was like dessert honestly. To end on a good note-- they had no veggie Jamaican patties so we bought the beef and cheese one-- despite not having much filling, it was delicious and the crust was perfect! I'd go back just for the patties.

Located in the Seville plaza, The Jamaican Dumpling Restaurant not only serves Jamaican cuisine but also Trinidadian roti. After greeting a male employee behind the counter, I placed an order for the guava bbq chicken which was served with rice and peas, steamed cabbage, and a side of fried plantain. After my order was ready in about 15 minutes, I sat at an available table to enjoy my meal. The steamed cabbage was tasty with a crunchy texture. The rice and peas was cooked to a soft consistency. The plantain were fried nicely. The star of the show was the chicken--tender pieces of meat covered in a sweet flavored sauce that had me sucking my fingers. My compliments to the cook, for the food was very enjoyable.
