    Pretzel with marinara dipping sause

I have not had a pretzel from the mall in years so my friend and I decided we just had to have one. We ordered the combo which includes a medium sized drink and a pretzel with your choice of sauce. The first thing that was wrong with the order was the girl gave us a small sized drink and after we pointed out to her that it was a medium sized that came with the combo deal she changed it out for the medium. We took our food to a nearby table and I noticed my drink was mostly ice and not much soda. We took our pretzels out of the bag and they were cold and starting to get hard like they had been sitting out for a long time. My friend took hers back up to the girl and complained about it and asked for a fresh pretzel. I will say the girl at the counter was happy to give us a fresh pretzel. But even our fresh pretzel was still a bit over cooked and just not like a fresh pretzel should have been.

Best pretzels I've ever had. It's $3 for the pretzels which is a pretty good price.

Also introduced him to Edelweiss & Von Bismarck (sadly now closed); see both my 5 star Yelp reviews. Got here for Happy Hour and each got our usual Ayinger Marzen. $2 off 0.5L; $6 each. I gave the choice to my buddy if he wanted to eat dinner here or next door at Dream Tacos & Cantina; he chose next door, see other review. Ambiance - Decent size location. Indoor/outdoor seating. Table or bar seating. Cool decor. Plenty of mall parking. Open 6 days a week from noon till 10pm, Sundays from 10am to 7pm, and closed on Mondays. Yelp's hours differ slightly. The kitchen closes 1 hour before closing time. Service - The usual long term 4.5 year guy (so sorry, I forgot his name) was welcoming and friendly. Then Erica came for the closing shift and was even more welcoming and friendly. I really like this place and enjoy taking all my guests here. Price - $26 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2020; I bring all my German friends here, well all my friends that like German beer. That might be all of them, lol.

A unique to me potato salad because it wasn't mayo based. It was delicious. The schnitzel was also good it came with lemon slices, that gave it a fresh element. We found out they are closing at the end of the month which is disappointing, but future endeavors are in the works. Go if you can you only have a few more weeks to enjoy some great German food!

Everyone looked at me like I was lost and there was a group of dudes on the corner that just creeped me out. They looked like they were close to the owner. Even the lady that was cleaning looked at me like I was lost. Anyways, I still ordered some of their stuff and as I was walking out, two of the guys inside started following me out to my car!! Luckily, my husband was in the car. One of the guys saw my husband on the driver side and they slowly turned away. I don't know, I did not like it at all! I can handle myself but, I would be worried for someone else. *** I ordered their compenchana and another sweet bread. They were good but, I still can't brush off what had happened. I really wanted to like this place but, I don't think I can go back.

This place felt like Willy Wonka opened a milkshake bar for the Instagram generation…read more We stopped by Black Rock Dessert while looking for ice cream and instead found milkshakes on steroids. We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

I am a bit torn on Black Rock, but it's a great dessert spot nonetheless…read more Stopped in at Black Rock Dessert on a Thursday evening. Just one lone employee was running the place. In my opinion, it wasn't enough. There was a steady flow of people, and she couldn't keep up with orders and customer service. We opted for two small scoops of ice cream for the kids: chocolate and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We also ordered the sizzling blonde brownie sundae. It was about $20 for three items. The ice cream was very good, especially the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Very unique flavor and great texture. The blondie was a bit of a letdown. First, the blondie was not "sizzling". It wasn't even really warm. Only placed in a waffle iron for a few seconds. Second, it seemed very dry and crumbly, maybe even overbaked. I thought the ideas at Black Rock are fun, and I think trying one of their milkshakes should be my next visit. However, there are a lot of great ice cream spots in Reno. For just ice cream, I think there is some heavy competition.
