I have only gone to Wetzrl's Meadowood Mall kiosk; I happen to try them recently, when I approached the kiosk, there wasnt anyone else in line so I walked right up to the cashier and ordered a cup of the pigs in the blanket and was surprised when the cashier asked which version: original or cheesy; so, I got one cup each. The total cost was about $14 and the cups were pretty full; the contents were enough for a meal for one rather than just a snack. The mini dough-wrapped hotdogs were good and even though the original version was tasty, I ended up preferring the cheesy version. My interaction with the employees was brief but they were nice and courteous enough; so overall, my visit to Werzel's Pretzels was a positive experience. read more

We love Wetzel's Pretzels pretzels! Every time we go to the mall, I make sure I get this for me and my littles. The way it's cooked is just right. Warm and crispy yet still soft to chew. We usually get the pizza bitz with cheese sauce and original bitz for my littles. And I get the original whole pretzel with caramel sauce. So yummy! We add fresh lemonade and sometimes the strawberry lemonade which is so sour but really good.. The ambiance is alright. It is located inside the mall by the food court so it's a bit loud sometimes. So I haven't been to Meadowood Mall in 10+ years but I had to go there for a specific store to get a gift for a friend. The store happens to be across from the food court and I couldn't help but notice Wetzel's Pretzel is in the same exact spot as I remembered when I was a kid. Thinking about that made me nostalgic and I decided to get a pretzel. I went with the classic Wetzel Pretzel brushed with butter and topped with salt (which is optional) and cheddar cheese for dipping sauce. It was warm and crisp, yet still soft. My absolute favorite pretzel....when it's fresh. Unfortunately, despite coming to this particular Wetzel location about a dozen times, there was only one time I've actually had a fresh pretzel here. They're in a mall so understandably, they make a big batch at a time and keep it in the warmer until someone orders it. That way, they can get people in and out. It's still good, just not as good as it can be as it does have an effect on the taste. Customer service is another issue here. I've always found it to be hit and miss. Today was a hit. Every Christmas Eve my sister and I go to the mall for a pretzel and finish up our gift shopping. Today we went in for a pretzel to keep up our tradition and I must say it was one of the best pretzels I had in a long time. The pretzels were nice and warm and soft. (Nothing worse than getting a hard pretzel at a pretzel shop) The only thing that I noticed was different is they used to have what they called the combo where you got a pretzel, choice of sauce to dip in, and a drink. Now you buy the pretzel and each sauce is an additional 1.19 and the drink is also separate. Most pretzel places I have been to usually give the first sauce free with the pretzel. The young boys working the counter were friendly enough without going over board. The shop looked clean so I will defiantly be willing to eat here again in the future. read more

Don't get me wrong the pretzels are great and that is the only reason they are getting two stars. The service is always horrible here. The last three times I have been there have all been bad experiences service wise. The first two times were earlier in the day and there were never pretzels available that we wanted. They said it would be a 5-10 minutes wait and we ended up waiting 30 minutes. The last time, just yesterday, I went at 8:30pm and the lady was so rude. I asked if I can order a pretzel and she told me she was closed. I asked doesn't the mall close at 9? She said I close when I sell out with so much attitude. Fast and quick. Love the cinnamon bites. That's my biggest addiction from them. Sometimes they are over cooked, but come when they are busy and it's perfection! I love sharing the treats with friends. As messy as the pretzels may get. To have some makes my day. I just wash my hands once I'm finished. Dont recommend the bites while shopping. May get sticky when you try things on. Bring water though. Will help with the sweetness! Staff is great! They made the treats in no time and is super affordable!! read more

The food is hard and gross and the service is slow as hell. I waited ten minutes for hard old pretzel bites.

Never tried a hot dog on a hot pretzel before ... I can't say it really adds much to the experience. Also seems to be like the gas station or 7-11 in that if they don't have the particular dog type you want in the little case at the time you show up, then you're SOL until they roast some more. Clerk was on break. Waited ten minutes. She was unpleasant. She grabbed the money out of my hand. I noticed the sign soliciting donations for a childhood hunger campaign so I offered to donate. She rudely stated that the campaign ended almost a month ago. So needless to say I didn't donate. I would think the signage would have been removed in a timely manner. Very disappointed. I love going to the Mall with my Son and getting a Wetzel's Pretzel and he gets the Bitz. His school recently sold coupon books for one of their Fundraisers. I took him and a friend to the Mall the other day and we were all going to get a Pretzel using one of the coupons. It was buy 2 pretzels and get 1 free. I ordered and first off, I had to wait 10 minutes for more pretzels as they were running low. So I decided to get 2 and come back for 1 when they were done. I was paying for them all first and when I gave the employee the coupon he said he couldn't accept it because they were under new ownership. I was disappointed and decided to just get the 2 for my Son and his friend. 2 employees said it wasn't their fault and it was because of the new owner. Maybe the new owner should put up a sign saying that the coupon isn't Accepted. That way his employees aren't the bad guys. Maybe just accept the coupon so as not to upset repeat customers. Fell in love with these pretzels in Roseville but thinking twice of supporting this business in Reno. The young man who helped us came to the counter with an attitude and regardless of me trying to be nice he continued to be miserable the whole time. I asked for the pumpkin carmel pretzels, yes I said it wrong but rather than explaining my options he snapped at me about cinnamon bitz so I asked what my options were. He proceeded to look up at the board like I was an idiot for asking and then reluctantly told me. He made our blitz with no smiles the whole time. I told him thank you when he handed them to me and received an abrupt YUP! I personally manage staff who must provide excellent customer service and would be embarrassed of this was a representation of me or our business. Also want to add that they were hard and should have been tossed for a new batch which in another store would have happened. So sad how one interaction can ruin your whole experience. I love me some pretzels and this is the only place that I know of that sells pretzels in Reno. Its always fresh and they have an assortment of different toppings, or if your a plain Jane like me, you can get nothing on it and have some cheese with it. We bought about 6 pretzels in the evening on a Monday and the pretzels were still doughy! Didn't taste like it was cooked through enough... very disappointing, I believe the gentleman working did not know what he was doing.
