Not sure what took me so long to get to Augie's, but I'm very grateful Yelp stepped in and hosted an event here. I loved the setup right away--counter service and fast turnaround. We went with the Uncle Papi, which can only be described as pizza and a fried chicken sandwich having a beautiful, messy love child. The chicken filet was impressively large, and the Sunday sauce? So good it would absolutely earn a seal of approval from my Italian grandma. The fries were plentiful, and while I regret not testing one of their fun dipping sauces, the house-made blue cheese did not disappoint. We also ordered the Messy Pressy (aka the poutine burger), and it lived up to its name in the best possible way. Delicious, indulgent, and led to a nap on the ride home. Already looking forward to coming back--and possibly making it a personal goal to work my way through every burger and sandwich on the menu. Girl at order desk, unfriendly and couldn't care less to help us, no explanation of procedure that you order at counter and they bring food over. We attempted to figure out if they had sweet and low for the iced tea, the cashier girl told me to check with the bar!? Nope. Blasting music so loud we couldn't hear each other. $50 for two smallish burgers and an order of sweet potato fries with hard cinnamon butter was enough for one visit. Don't waste your time or money. A sunny Saturday lead us out of usual area and out to Augies. While the place was relatively quiet when we walked in to place our order it quickly filled in. For the cost of the food and what you get it was probably one of the most over priced meals we've had in a while. The misses and I were in full agreement , the space rodeo burger and chew bok bok were both really bland even with the bbq sauce on the chicken. The chicken and beef patties were thin, and if I'm comparing, I could go to hoaks and get a chicken sandwich that was 4 times the size , had fries with it and not an extra charge for about the same price. The staff was super friendly. It was packed so it took about 10 minutes for the shake, which is understandable and the staff warned us. We got a Thin Mint milkshake, it was $9. It was not worth it at all for the price and the taste. There was very little Mint, it was mainly just chocolate. It didn't taste bad, it just wasn't what we thought. read more

The burgers are 6oz...So if you are hungry and a bigger guy you better make it a double...I got the Space Rodeo with American instead of provolone...You can add/change the ingredients for their burgers....I'm really not a smash burger guy but these were really excellent....The fries were average....I also got a pbuster vanilla shake and it was really good.....Service was good but no one comes to your table after you order...Might want to remember that for tipping....Comfortable sitting area and it was clean...I didn't pay as a family member did but it seemed really pricey.... read more

If you miss Mr Sizzles, you're in luck, because Augie's is the rebranding! Amazing shakes and smash burgers! The location in Hamburg is spacious and bright. The bar area is open. We arrived to grab some food on Friday night and it was a very busy night with only a few tables available after we ordered. It was a bit of a wait for our food but we were fine with it because they were clearly not prepared for it to be that busy but we were glad to see it and weren't in a hurry. One of the employees even came over to make sure we didn't need anything and to apologize for the wait and explained they weren't anticipating that much of a rush and were a little backed up. The space itself is open, lively, and family friendly. It was mostly families eating while were there. The shakes are the highlight here - I tried the P. Buster banana and it was delish. The coffee flavored one my husband got was also very flavorful. We tried the g dawg hot dog, p. buster burger and fries and everything was tasty. I'll probably try some of the other menu items next time we go but wouldn't hesitate to get those again. read more

This is such a cute spot and fun area for a restaurant for the whole family. They had a lot of burger choices along with chicken sandwiches to choose from. They have a full wrap around bar with high top seating around it if you don't want to sit at a table. Service was fast at the bar and as for ordering food you have to walk up to the kiosk where the servers are to order food. So, there isn't any table side service other than when they bring your food out to your table. The food was good everyone in our party really enjoyed ourselves. The noise level was low so we could talk and hangout no problems. I would go back to try more options on the menu as maybe next time I'll bring my kids so they can try it too! read more

Love the atmosphere! The neon sign designed after his son is so cute and looks so nice over the bar. Service is great, food is great, and I appreciate the wide selection of beverages, including mocktails. Big TVs, so great place to watch games. Drink specials and food specials on different days, depending on when you're there. Shakes and floats also. The burgers are fantastic and it's definitely worth the trip, whether you're just around the corner or coming down from the city. I really appreciate locally owned businesses, especially ones that have a greater purpose in the community. The story behind this restaurant and their mission to help feed families with kids dealing with serious illnesses is really beautiful and important. They absolutely have my business. read more

I stopped in after work one night to grab some late dinner on my way home. I was super excited to try the new location and new name for the former Sizzles, now Augies empire. The location itself is so nice and modernized with a very new feel to it. It felt like it would be the perfect summer night spot with the patio and the vibes here were great. I ordered ahead of time so I got there and waited for my food at a table. There was a little confusion and delay with the milkshake I ordered but no big deal, that cookies and cream milkshake was worth the wait. It was gone before I got home. I also ordered The Mothership burger and fries. I added an extra patty to the burger because a double is always better. The burger was fantastic and hit the spot. The space sauce is a great addition for their burgers here. The fries were good but I just wanted more of them. I guess I'm used to other burger spots dumping fries in the bag with the cup so I was a little bummed when it was just enough fries to fill the cup. All in all, I'm excited for this next chapter for them. I'll be excited to try the food from both locations and can't wait to see what the menu adds and evolves like they did in the past. read more

We finally made it to Augie's for lunch and the food was delicious. It was a snowy Saturday afternoon and the renovations from the previous tenant were nice. We sat at the bar and ordered the space rodeo burger, no bun, sweet potato fries, hen solo and galaxy fries and to drink the wake up call and bloody Mary. The sandwiches were delicious, hot and fresh and the toppings were nice flavor additions to the burger and chicken sandwich. The galaxy fries were tasty and a nice change from the standard French fry. The sweet potato fries were a great and appreciated menu item however they came out cold. The morning wake up call was delicious and used some vanilla ice cream in the drink which was a nice twist on an espresso martini. The food, with the exception of the sweet potato fries was easily 5 stars. The issue we had here was the service. The bartender was a bit snarky when we asked her questions about menu items. She also decided to take a personal phone call when the food came out. I needed silverware and had to wait until she finished her call, at the same time I asked if the kitchen forgot my pickles, I got a snappy response that they were under the burger. Great, no problem, but how would I know if I don't have silverware to check. The sweet potato fries were also cold. For $7, I'd like them hot and fresh. But at this point I was hungry, my burger was getting cold and I didn't feel like catching any more attitude. I will absolutely be back but I hope whoever is there on my next visit is friendlier and more helpful. I've been here a couple times. I appreciate that they have so many vegan offerings! Milkshakes, burgers, fries, most with a vegan counterpart. Milkshakes have always been good, though I would appreciate a list of ingredients. I ordered a strawberry milkshake my last visit and it had large chunks of nuts in it which was very off-putting. The fries are always delicious. The burgers are usually a bit soggy and greasy. I've tried a few different versions and they're all the same. So if you want greasy comfort food, vegan style, then this is your place!! read more

Perfect weather to sit outside - happy we got a table although they were all pretty wobbly LOL You order at the counter, and then the food is brought out to you. The new menu seems to have more options and there's a bunch I will be trying in future visits. Wife went with the Magic Myco and I chose Dr. Venkman. We shared an order of Galaxy fries. I'm not sure how to rate this review. I really want to love Augie's. It's got everything you want in a burger joint. The atmosphere is top notch. Burger and cocktail or burger and shake with the family? Great for either. Large garage window with outdoor seating and a large bar, perfect. This is more my style compared to other places like ABV. However, The burger itself, arguably the most important factor, mediocre. Not bad but nothing amazing. I will always clap for homemade fries, tasty. Shakes are flavorful and drinkable (not like drinking ice cream.) Also $10 a shake is ridiculous. Outdoor tables are tiny and food comes on trays, very hard to have your own space to eat on them. (We had a family of 4) $110 for 4 burgers, 4 fries, and 4 shakes. Expensive for a burger and fry dinner but then again everywhere is expensive nowadays. Huge menu for ordering at the counter, the pressure is on if you didn't look before you arrived. The food is good, coffee shake- so good. If you want boozy shakes or cocktails, you have to order at the bar. Someone will drop your food off at your table, but you clean up after yourself, garbage cans are kind of hidden next to the stairs. read more

Checked out Augie's and I was not disappointed! The Phone Home, which is a classic buffalo chicken sandwich was great. The chicken was tender and juicy. The chips and dip were solid as well. So happy that this place is finally open! Was able to order online right around their official opening and experienced no hiccups. Food it's absolutely fantastic and the interior is fresh and look like a great place to kick back and grab a drink and bite. The food was good, and the location in the center of Hamburg gave it a nice atmosphere. The counter service was fine as well. I don't often give 5 stars unless every expectation is met, but overall, this was a positive experience. My family and I all ordered different items. I had the Space Cowboy burger--it was flavorful, and I really liked that the BBQ sauce wasn't overly sweet. The pickles were a great touch and really made the burger stand out. My wife ordered the Cluck Norris, which was also very good with a nice little kick of spice, though it could have used more blue cheese. The only drawback for me was the price. At $13 for a burger without fries and $9 for a milkshake, it felt extremely expensive. Our total came to over $100 for four burgers, one order of fries, and four shakes. While I'd love to go back for the taste and atmosphere, my wallet might not be able to keep up. read more

First of all, the atmosphere on a warm early Summer day was quite nice. There is a bar that is open to the outside patio, very relaxing. Some of the cocktails that were being made looked very good, but I'm a beer guy. The space is quite large, much bigger and more open than I expected. A good selection of upbeat music playing at a proper volume to be heard, but not distracting. They seem to have a lot of the small things right. I do think that the price point is a little high. The Classic Burger was a decent value, but the prices shot up for the other burgers. I think $5.50 for a bottle of Labatts and $6.00 for a Genesee draft is too much at a burger restaurant. I guess it keeps the riff-raff away. So although the bar is nice, for a casual beer or two, I can't see it as a regular stop. The quality of the burgers we had was quite good. Nicely executed, good flavor. I do wish that "Space Sauce" was described on the menu. Many of the burgers included it. What is Space Sauce? Is it hot sauce? Big Mac sauce? spaghetti sauce? I know, I could have asked, but I'd prefer not to have to ask. Overall, we enjoyed the execution of the space and the overall experience. I wish them success. read more

We stopped by on a cold winter night for some burgers and shakes. We loved the previous burger joint in this location, and heard great things about Augie's, so we were excited to try. I ended up getting one of the fried chicken sandwiches and it was phenomenal. The hubby got one of the burgers and he really liked it. I also got the sweet potato fries and they came with an incredibly delicious cinnamon and brown sugar dip, and I am still thinking about it!!! I don't think I've seen any other restaurant do that, so that was a nice treat! Their homemade sauces to go with burgers/sandwiches are also delicious, but just be prepared to pay a little extra for them, which wasn't a huge deal to me :) One of the main reasons why I wanted to try Augie's is because of their vegan/dairy free options! Not only do they have a bunch of vegan burger options, but they also have vegan milkshakes! I am not vegan, but do like to limit dairy when possible to avoid an upset stomach and I tried their dairy free peanut butter milkshake and it had to be one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. It's so nice to have these options so close to home where they have something for everyone and their dietary needs. And they also have gluten free options, which I know is super important for a lot of people! The service was also great, and everyone was super friendly! For those not familiar (because I wasn't), you actually go up to the counter to order and sit anywhere, which is really nice and convenient for those looking for a quick bite to eat. Our food was brought to us, so you do get some "full" service, which is nice! And I thought the food was very reasonably priced. Living in the village of Hamburg we couldn't wait for our new burger spot to open, especially one with multiple vegan options! After the emotional rollercoaster of Mister Sizzles opening and closing all in a week our hearts were broken that our burger dreams were over. Until Augie's announced their opening and saved our hungry souls. We went 3x in the first week and every time was incredible. We ordered a Pbusters burger, a Messy Pressy and Galaxy fries. All were good and super fresh. I feel like the fries are cut and seasoned in house. Today was the first day of their liquor license so the selection was limited. Seeing all of the sections that were blacked out leads me to believe there will be a good selection of house made beverages. We sat at the service counter and the guy working was on top of everything. The restaurant seems very family friendly but can also host a group out for an adult libation.
