I confirmed with someone who answered the phone that the injector did indeed add units that did that. Again... without asking me if it was ok. For some reason the person who I spoke to on the phone thinks a consultation will help. However, I already know from experience that once they inject it the only thing that works is letting it wear off and I have to have severe eye strain for 3 months. The injector was also very careless and I bruised like never before. She even just felt sloppy and inexperienced. I'll never go back again. My review highlights an unethical practice that's unfortunately widespread in the city. I typically get Botox treatments at Body Factory, and while the nurses are generally skilled and the facilities (I've been to all three locations) are clean and well-maintained, the issue lies with their tipping policy. Medical professionals, including nurse practitioners and registered nurses, are prohibited from soliciting or accepting tips. Their professional code of conduct clearly forbids this. Let me repeat this: MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, INCLUDING NURSES, ARE EXPLICITLY PROHIBITED FROM SOLICITING OR RECEIVING TIPS. THERE IS NO GREY AREA HERE. ACCEPTING TIPS IS UNETHICAL FOR THESE PROFESSIONALS. However, every time I go to pay, I'm put in an uncomfortable position. The staff at the register either directly asks for a tip or presents the credit card machine with a tipping option, treating it as if it's standard practice. This behavior is wrong, unethical, and embarrassing on purpose. Treatments here are already expensive, often costing me close to or over $500. Yet, they still have the audacity to suggest a 20%/30% tip -- that's an additional and unethical $100 or more they take. This practice is wrong and unethical, and again, tips should not be requested, given, suggested, or even accepted if offered. While customers technically have the option to decline, the correct approach would be never to request a tip, never mention it, and not include it as an option in the payment process. Putting clients in an uncomfortable position is NEVER the answer. Please learn and remove the tipping option from your credit card payments.

Sisley Paris

Sisley Paris boutique on Bleecker is not a store, it is an experience. From the decor flown in from…read moreParis, to the original artwork on the walls that inspired the artistry on the perfume bottles, the attention to detail is phenomenal. Drop in for some tea or champagne or an event where you might receive a shoulder massage while learning about self care. In French there is a special word for self care in personal cosmetic application, "soin de beauté"- literally meaning beauty care (sounds better in French right?). The entire concept behind the products and the experience in store is centered around this idea of "self care" - a better translation. First- the products. Every product I have tried and used has proven results. Yes, the products are at a higher price point. However, they are worth every penny. Think about how much you spend at Sephora on the "next best item". Throw them out. One item is all you need all year at Sisley for each part of your beauty regimen. Each product is specially formulated to give specific results to aid your skin in healing itself. Every product is plant based. Every product is the result of years of research. Why such attention to detail? Because Sisley is independent. It is family owned. Almost every other product on the market is owned by about 3 or 4 large cosmetic conglomerates ( even La Mer), who are publicly traded and must answer to shareholders. What does that mean for your skin? Products that are diluted or changed for a larger profit margin to create quick fix "results" that aren't healthy for your skin in order to roll out the next product for the next quarter earnings. Enough about finance - the fact that it is family owned means that each product is the result of craftsmanship - something that resonates throughout the entire experience. Bottom line- these products deliver results. How many eye creams have you purchased in the last year? Think about that. It makes economic sense to invest in one that *works* rather than trying 3-4 that don't. Second- this boutique does not push products. The "vendeuses " (sales people) and the makeup artists carefully assist in curating a skin care (or makeup) regime that works for your skin's needs and your budget. They give out copious samples so you can see results before you buy. They truly want you to be happy with your skin and work with you to give you glowing skin one product at a time in a way that is healthy and makes sense for your skin. They provide facials as well and Danielle, my esthetician has taken care of my skin for years now. I cannot express enough how much care she gives to each facial and how amazing it is to have someone "follow" your skin's needs and help with products or pro-tips on how best to take care of your skin. Do I recommend this boutique? Yes, a million times over; the products are the best in the business, the team is gracious beyond compare and the entire experience at the gorgeous boutique is unparalleled in the city. My skin is GLOWING and I regularly receive compliments. Drop by- you won't be disappointed.

Amazing place!! Yesterday I went to Audrey to get a facial. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed by warm smiles from the all the staff. The space looked impeccably clean. Everything was in its placed and everything was new. The esthetician jola was amazing.!!! She explained all the steps she was doing so nothing was unexpected. She explain what the products she was using where, & what they were for. During the extractions she gave me a "heads up " in the area where she would put more pressure , yet I barely felt pain!! She is incredibly gentile. The music was so soothing, I was able to relax and unwind! I could see the results immediately. I was astonished how cleaned my face was.In particular my "t " zone area was( this area was the most affected cover in blackheads) after it was done there was minimal ; close to none redness! my skin was shinny! After the facial was done jola detailed a simple regimen I should use to get the best results. All with the current cleanser and toner I have . She was so amicable that she answered ALL of my questions, even repeated the answers over and over again when I asked. I was not asked or pressured to buy any of the products they have in their shelves. (unlike my usual spot dermalogica in soho) Before raving about Audrey I wanted to wait a day to see if I would get any scaring/ or any reaction to the products. When I woke up the this morning my face had never felt clean and radiant.! My face feels smooth as a baby bottom, and no need for makeup to cover blackhead..! ___ better UPDATE! (did anyone know that you cannot publish your review from your iphone?? apparently you must logg on from a computer so you can publish) ___________ UPDATE! It's been 3 weeks and I have followed her recommendation of the regimen I should use for my face. And the changes are noticeable! Not only does my skin look better (with much less blackheads, and whiteheads) but the amount of breakouts have diminished significantly.! If your looking for a good cozy spot to relax; unwind and be taken care off as if your their only client . Then Audrey is where you have to go. !!! Thanks jola and staff! read more

I went to see Yola aka the owner of Audrey after googling spas in Williamsburg. I had been here since April 2007 at that point and it was December and was still in need of a nice place to go for facials and waxing. To my surpise, here was this cute and oh so nice spa in the heart of hipster land. I went as a birthday treat and got my brows done and a facial, and a bikini wax. I know, right? Who the hell wants to get waxed down there on their birthday? Yola is great, so nice, and she knows what she is doing. Her brow waxes are virtually painless whether you choose regular wax or sensitive. Her prices are reasonable compared to what I used to spend for the same services in Memphis. My skin was better after one facial and if I was still living in the neighborhood I would be there all of the time. She doesn't try to sell you crap....she'll say eat right, drink water, and be healthy....oh and use oatmeal that you can buy anywhere for a few bucks. She's great at customizing tint for your brows and your eyelashes. My brows look AMAZING after she waxes and tints them. She's meticulous and she doesn't overwax and make you look odd....you look very natural and beautiful. Mia Mia is a skincare shop down the street and when I mentioned I went to her the owner of the store had nothing but solid praise for Yola. She is well respected as she should be. BTW my manicure and pedicure got me compliments the rest of the day while I was shopping. She can always fit you in too.....love it! read more

The atmosphere at this salon is always pleasant and the staff are exceeding polite and attentive. I was quite surprised to see a disappointed costumer walk in and immediately start at heated conversation without reason. I was even more surprised to find that she had written a review on yelp about it. Usually yelp I find has super reviews of businesses and gives costumers a true look at them hence their slogan" real people. real reviews". I was shocked to find that the same woman who had walked in to stir trouble for no apparent reason post a horrid and accusatory review. This woman lashed out at for no apparent reason simply to criticize and demoralize the staff and service going as far as to use unsavory language to prove her point. I felt this was unfair for people who depend on these reviews to see a lie posted so bluntly that when someone that may need a service that this salon offers would not go simply because of it. I've always had the notion that a salon is a place where you go to be pampered and to feel relaxed and at ease. The prices and the service are one of a kind especially for this economy and my experience there has always been grand. I've had the manicure and pedicure done and it was a wonderful time. I feel that as a consumer I wish to always know the truth and it is a true shame when other costumers will lie and be biased simply because they wish to be difficult and stir up trouble. read more

BEST FACIAL ON EITHER COAST. The owner, Yola, is a master and has decades of experience. I have really sensitive, congested skin and she is the only person I will go to now. I have been to all the fancy spas in NY, SF, LA, and SD, but no one has touched my face in years now but her. I no longer live in Brooklyn, but I travel from the West Village for Yola's magic touch. It also might as well be an amazing therapy session. Or if you are not in the mood to talk, she is totally attentive to that. I cannot speak more highly of this woman and her business and the way she runs it. Don't be fooled by the cheap price of the facial (around $80), it will be the best one you ever have, with zero redness and not a pore unturned. Love you Yola! Been meaning to write one of these for her forever. BEST EVER!!! All services I have had here are wonderful... nails, waxing etc. Don't go to these new cheesy places opening in Williamsburg trying to drive out the old vetrans. Audrey Spa rules! read more

I first met Yola (the owner of Audrey) in 1995 when she worked at a spa on Bleecker Street. I went to her once a month for upper leg/bikini wax and became dependent on her reliable and excellent service. Over the years when I had to go to someone else here and there (if Yola was out of town or I was out of town, etc...) it was truly a nightmare. When she opened her own spa a few years ago I followed her there. I live in uptown Manhattan and go all the way to Williamsburg because of Yola - her warmth, her beautiful way of making you feel comfortable in the strangest position :), her great sense of humor, and simply the fact that she is the best in the business. If you are looking for a top quality spa at reasonable rates - for any of the offered services - and a cozy, comfortable, fun vibe Audrey is your place. I would give it 10 stars if there was such a rating! read more

First opinion as i walk in to Audrey: clean, welcoming, and very relaxing atmosphere. I walk in and get helped right away! anyway... last month i treated myself and got a wax... Hey, I am new to yelp but figured I'll start with this spa. Went in last week to get a facial. The esthetician was very polite and gentle. She asked me if I ever had a facial before and told me what to do to get ready. Before puting any products on my face she asked if I was allergic to anything and if it hurt, before proceeding. She explained what she was going to do and what was needed, without pushing me to buy any products. (I thought that was a big plus because normally salons/spas try to rip you off with selling something and making you pay loads of money). When she finished my facial, my skin felt super soft and not as red as I was expecting. I see an improvement so I'll definitely be back. read more

Hands down the best facial and waxing in New York! I have tried every "best in NY" place and none of them hold a candle to Yola. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyebrows, which she shapes perfectly every time despite a scar I have running through one of them. Also, Audrey is a real family business (Yola's daughter works the front desk and I've even seen her husband planting flowers outside!) and Yola totally makes me feel part of the family every time I go. That is why I come all the way from Manhattan -- and so my friends. I've read some of the bad reviews here and wonder "Maybe it is her competition writing them?" I'm not sure if the salon was overbooked or I just got unlucky, but I wasn't at all impressed with the service I received here. After three years of brazillians, this is the first time anyone has actually made me bleed. And yes, the wax was over in 10 minutes but it was by no means finished. When I questioned my waxer about the amount of hair left over (seriously, more hair than the first time I got waxed) she told me I could finish it at home with a set of tweezers. Two stars because the sensitive wax really does make a difference, but I definitely won't be going back. read more

I've been doing a lymphatic drainage with her since last year and the difference is outstanding. She is caring, professional, does an incredible job with her hands, gives you advise about what to eat and drink to maximize results and most importantly has a beautiful and light energy which makes the massage a mix of body sculpt and mental relaxation. 2- Carla is an excellent manager. She cares about everyone and is always doing her best to accommodate your schedule, your budget and your dramas. 3- I've done nails with Andrea and the other girls as well. The differentiating factor is they are all original Brazilians, so not that place that advertise Brazilian wax or Brazilian manicure and put you to deal with professionals that are in a rush to finish or doesn't know the job on its essence. 4- Mike the hair dresser an AMAZING professional. I'm not a blond but I saw the highlights he did on a few ladies on my manicure days and I was shocked. Its Vogue magazine level this guy know so much more than lots of fancy expensive hair dresses who just care about the money. Finally Its a simplistic and effective place. Yes they don't have the big foot spa with bubbles that you can find on Chinese salons because the job is hand made. So if you are looking for quality of service and quality of people with a very decent price than this is the place for you! Definitely not equipped for nails at all, I sat in a chair and the rolled over a bucket to wash my fee in. I then had to turn to bend to the side in order to get my manicure done. I had a noon appointment on Thursday The staff was not very friendly and were having constant conversation in Portuguese the entire time I was there, yelling back and forth. Me and the two other patrons in the salon felt uncomfortable. There were exposed wires, loose extension cords, construction lights hanging from the wall, and cleaning supplies exposed and piled up in corners. It was a dirty, uncomfortable environment and I left feeling sketched out.

The nail salon is located inside another salon and doesn't have their logo outside for display for you to even locate them. Poor selection of color well they barely have any colors. My gel manicure lasted me 5 days which is fine because I hated the way it looked. I am very expressive about my feelings and I did walk out with a disappointed look. Shafgupta was the manicurist that did my nails. She's good to have a conversation with but highly untalented when it comes to nails. She kept commenting on how my nails are weak. I always do 3 layers of gel color but they never looked thick and cakey. The sides of my nails looked awful as there's pieces of skin covered in polish or spots without polish. Despite my nails being weak that should have nothing to do with how awfully the polish was applied. My cousin even asked me if I did my nails at home because they didn't look professionally done at all. There's a $5 charge for nail polish removal which I did pay for as I had polish from before. This was my experience and I'd surely wont be back again!!

So when I arrived for my appointment at the address given for the spa, the beauty salon outside has a different name ok. I go in, it's a hair beauty salon with one chair for pedicure. I was hoping this wasn't the place because it looked like it wasn't ready, ok now they take me to the back on the lower level. I get there and there was one person and the place downstairs looked a little nicer from the front I didn't get to see the back. But then the young lady makes a call and I'm guessing her boss to let her know that I have arrived. She tells her to send me to the other salon. Mmm ok I guess these salons are associated with each other. Great it gets better, I go around the block and when I arrive there was a few people getting their hair done and one nail technician working on a customer's nails. So they told me it would be a few more minutes. I made my appointment at 4 PM, it's now going on to 4:30 PM. He finally wraps up with her and it's my turn. He walks me over to the pedicure area, and the place is honestly filthy. The massages chairs did not work, it looked really old, the arm chair didn't go back down. So all this before we even get started. Ok cool. I chose my nail color and I told the nail tech I wanted French pedicure, his response was that it would be $5 extra dollars I said ok. But then I said I wanted it for both hands and feet he said ok $10 extra. I've NEVER heard $10 extra just to put a line on both of my feet and nails. So I decided to just stick with my hands for the French. We wrap up the pedicure and we go to the table for my manicure. All is great as mentioned, but then there's multiple flies buzzing around and landing on my purse my arm etc. Flies are disgusting and are obviously around for a reason in this establishment. It didn't seem to bother anyone but me. So here's the best thing (hear the sarcasm) to top off this manicure after the tech works on my nails and puts my fingers in the bowl of water there's a fucking baby roach in the bowl. And I didn't realize it until after I took my hands out. Ughhhh disgusting, but ok I don't flip. I just refuse to put my hands back in there. I just want him to finish my manicure so I can get out of this place. The tech kept insisting for me to put my hand back in there I said no look in the bowl. He's like oh wow laughed and changed the water. Mmm no thank you. The tech knows what he's doing, and takes pride in his work I can see that so I will give him the star. The establishment no thank you. Won't be trying this place again.
