Service is always always slow. I've been going here for 6 years, been there when there were only two tables seated and when they are full. With a party of 4 or less always been there an hour and a half to two hours. Servers take forever to wait on you and kitchen is slow (even before COVID). I go back for the food. We went for an early dinner on a Friday night. We waited about a half an hour for our burgers to come out. They got my wife's order completely wrong and it took another half an hour for them to fix it. By the time my wife and I both had our food mine was cold. They took a measly $1.50 off of our bill to make up for it. The sweet potato fires were covered in chili powder which made them taste lousy (who does that?). I have been to the Draft House twice in the past few weeks. I tried the Sawmill Burger and then the Classic Burger on my second visit. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fries are awesome...couldn't stop myself from eating all of them. So the food is enough to make me want to go back but here's a huge reason to go back....the beer is really cold, I mean REALLY COLD! Most establishments don't understand how important that is. They have a great selection of draft beer. My husband and I both ordered burgers. He ordered the SOS burger and enjoyed it. Fries were great. I ordered the original burger and mine tasted like soap. It was almost inedible and I could only finish about half. They were short staffed, but service was ok. They had three servers running front of house total, and it got pretty chaotic. Servers were running nonstop, and it looked as if they may have recruited a cook to help bus and wait tables. More tables kept coming in and they were putting them on wait times with open tables due to lack of staffing. They definitely could have used some sort of uniform- matching t shirts and jeans at least would have been better than the workout pants. The restroom was disgusting and definitely needed a good clean. I can only hope the kitchen was not as dirty. We probably won't ever visit again, plenty of places serve draft beer. read more

Ate here for the first time on a Friday evening. Amazing service from bartender Beth. The owner is friendly and personable. He is open to constructive criticism and suggestions. They are still adding to the menu so new items are being added all the time. The burgers were amazing (we tried the Aloha, Inferno, and Chorizo). The ghost pepper cheese on the Inferno was hot but did not detract from the overall taste. The sweet potato fries were good and their sauce was incredible. The onion rings are battered in Blue Moon batter and delicious. They have 44 beers on tap and the bartenders are knowledgeable about all of them. Beth made suggestions based on what we normally like and was spot on. Shots also are $2 cheaper than other local establishments (*cough* skybar *cough*). We ate too voraciously to take pics. The food here is awesome even though it's only a limited menu right now due to it being a new restaurant. The beer selection is so great. There is a huge variety, and they are constantly getting new ones. The chorizo burger is delicious, and the sweet potato fries are amazing. This place is ridiculous and lucky they got one start. We called ahead and the wait was 30/45 mins. We showed up 10 mins later and the wait was 2 hours, 15 mins later I went and check the time and the wait was 1 hour. After we showed up during the 15 min wait we cleaned two tables off and sat down at one. Nobody ever asked us anything and no to mention there were 5 empty tables with in the restaurant. Nearly an hour went by and I went to check on the table again, she said oh we text you and you didn't respond within 5 mins so we gave it away. Did I mention within this hour of wait time the 5 tables that were empty they never sat anyone till the exact moment I went to ask about our table. I asked for the manager and he was like oh well sorry you will have to wait your turn you shouldn't have sat down at a table. This place is awful in regards to service during game day. I never wish anyone would lose there job but the general manager should be fired as he should learn how to talk to customers. Did I mention how busy they were yet the GM had plenty of time to take his 3 smoke breaks. When I left and walked out he also came back outside to smoke his cigs. We dined in last evening and were delighted with the drink options. Being a Friday night we were seated quickly and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The regular draft house burger was a hit for me and cooked perfectly medium the way I ordered. We also had the philly cheesesteak which was very good, however the cheese was chewy and bland, would recommend ordering without it or on the side as it seemed more like queso. I came here for brunch one Sunday and got the shrimp & grits. Holy cow. They were so yummy and I now compare all the shrimp & grits I get to the dish at The Draft House. I sat at the bar and the guy taking out orders was very nice and made sure we had our drinks full. One of my friends got the breakfast burrito and she absolutely loved it. I ordered the weekly special stout flight to try with my food, and it was very affordable for $6 and was a lot of beer per glass! My wife and I ate here for lunch on a Sunday. We very much like to try different beers and thought we'd finally give this place a try. Sadly, it disappointed in pretty much every respect. When we walked in through the back door, we were concerned that it might not even be open. There was no music and we couldn't see anyone in the restaurant until we turned the corner. As nice as the decor, the restaurant just doesn't have any energy. Among the few people present, no one looked happy to be there, including the staff. It's a very odd and chilling feeling to be in a restaurant that is so small and has such good sunlight, yet seems less lively than a funeral parlor. Our server came over and provided us with the beer list. Considering its focus is on their beers (hence the name draught house), you'd think they'd have an impressive selection that would distinguish it from other establishments. Short of the two farmhouse ales we ordered, everything else on the menu is found on tap at every other bar in town. If you're going to market yourself to craft beer enthusiasts, you have to actually put in the effort to get distinct beers. If not on tap, then available in cans and bottles. And if your not going to distinguish yourself based on beers, then at least do it with the food. Sadly, this restaurant is failing there as well. My wife originally planned to order a Greek salad. The waitress asked her what dressing she would like. Seemed odd to me that that question needed to be asked. My wife inquired about the options, none of which were Greek salad dressing. How do you have a Greek salad on your menu and not offer Greek salad dressing? She ended up ordering the grilled chicken Caesar instead. It was decent although not exceptional. As for my food, I ordered the meatball sub. Which, really, was just a decision based on that being one of the few options other than burgers. One thing I didn't mention earlier, was how long it took our food to get out to the table. It was 25-30 minutes. I imagine that was due to the sub, given that my wife's salad really only needed to be dressed before being served. So you'd think, given the time it took to compose, it would be a masterpiece. When my sub came out, I was not impressed. The bun was toasted, but the provolone cheese on top looked sad, translucent, and as though it only spent about a minute under the broiler. As for the meatballs and marinara sauce, all I can say is that they were bland. That description is more colorful and exciting than the meatballs and sauce themselves. I would not be surprised if they bought in frozen meatballs and canned marinara. The best part, the sandwich could barely pass at being called Luke warm. I had to call the server over and send it back. When she told me she would have them prepare me another, the thought of having to wait another 30 minutes for such a terrible sandwich filled me with dread. I politely refused the replacement sandwich and asked for our check. We really wanted this place to be good. And I think it can be. But to do so, they have to put in a lot more effort. There are so many better options in the immediate vicinity to choose from. This restaurant needs to 1) find out what distinguishes it from the other, much better restaurants in the area, 2) retool the menu, focusing on producing their own high quality food rather than buying in substandard product, 3) if you want to call yourself the draught house, you can't just slap 35 random taps on the wall. You have to get a large variety of distinct beers and, a crucial necessity, you have to train your staff to be informed about the beers and how to help customers identify what beers they would like, and 4) get your staff excited. They are just going through the motions at this point. And if they're not upbeat and positive, your customers won't be either. In sum, the place isn't terrible, it's just not good. Or exciting. Or interesting. In any way. By the way, your website explicitly lists the kitchen is open Monday-Saturday for varying hours. It does not list Sunday, leading people to assume that perhaps you don't serve food on Sundays. I'd correct that. Maybe you'd get more business from the church goers looking for brunch after service. read more

If I could give this restaurant no stars, I would. The hostess was not friendly and sat us at a table without silverware. We sat for about 15 minutes before anyone came over to greet us. Once we were greeted we ordered their loaded cheese fries but they never came out. Our waitress brought out a cup of soda and said, "you can refill your cups with this" and walked away. At this point we'd been there 45 minutes and spoke to the manager, a younger guy with glasses. He never apologized for anything and gave us the answer, "I don't know what happened." We left EXTREMELY unsatisfied and will not be returning. We ended up going to Baumhower's Victory Grille and had AMAZING service from a young man named Gus and his trainee Rebecca. We went about 11:30AM, and there was only one other table seated in the entire place. Despite that, the service was extremely slow. We ordered an appetizer, which was basically room temperature. We both had different burgers, but both were pretty underwhelming. The main issue was how dry the meat was in the burger, but the toppings were all good. We also had a hard time getting our checks and paying, even though there was still only one other table of people in the entire restaurant. My friend eventually just had to pick up the check and walk it over to the kitchen to call on someone to check us out. They had a fly infestation so we were constantly swatting flies away from our drinks. My mom has celiac disease so she can't eat gluten. When she automatically got the beer-battered fries with her meal and asked if they were gluten free, it took the waitress 2 trips to the manager to answer the question (which was yes, there is gluten on them), then they offered to replace it with a fruit cup.....for a $3.50 upcharge. If I could leave less than one star, I would and that's being generous. Words do not do justice to how absolutely unimpressed I was with this place. I am completely aware that college game days are crazy, but as a business, you should prepare for what you know is coming. Let me walk you through my encounter. I called to check the wait. It was 30-45 minutes, I arrived 5 minutes later and was told the wait was 2 hours- which no big deal. Good company and it probably wouldn't take that long. So here we are, 1.5 hours later, we checked on our table to find out that they had text us 30 min ago and never called our name. The text never went out and the MANAGER told us too bad. He replied they were too busy, but he went outside for 3 smoke breaks and tables sat unbussed for an hour or more that I counted. I worked in the service industry for 10 years. I give grace often to restaurants but this goes beyond grace, the staff was very unprofessional. They were unfair in the way they treated each party. They called out some names and not others. The staff even admitted texts don't work on game days- so why would you use texting as your primary source for getting your table? This baffles me. Point of my story, if you treat individuals this way- you will not stay in business long. And I can guarantee I will never return- although I do not believe their will be a place to return too.
