Terrific service food outstanding. My wife had the wings to start I had the gumbo. Perfection. My wife had the chicken with brocolini which was a tad cold if not piping hot. Although it was delicious my wife decided to box the rest. The server Valerie was terrific and offered a dessert on the house which was appreciated. I had the French Dip which was absolutely outstanding. Crunchy bread with fries. We will be back and the place is very nice inside with a bar in its final completion.

Grace and her Sauvignon Blanc- thanks for introducing me to Aubrey!

It was bustling on a Friday night so reservation is recommended. I tried a mocktail which was pleasant while Grace had a glass of sauvignon blanc. We shared the crab cakes to start. This was nice. For the mains, I chose the short ribs and she tried the Summer Squash Bucatini. Both options were fantastic. I tried her pasta and I would love to order this next time. My short ribs was flawless- it came with my favorite veggies. The pillowy mash, leeks, mushrooms- all glazed with their savory reduction. But the Bucatini was perfect for spring. Peach cobbler for dessert! I wish there were two scoops of their good vanilla ice cream. I paired this with their coffee, an excellent one btw, like a caffe crema. And you can't beat Aubrey's ambiance. Charming and classy at the same. John, took good care of us.

We had the pleasure of fine dining ala Aubrey's Corner by way of Mr. Jes Taylor owner and expert staff for a post Valentine Day supper - a real treat! Mixologist Yanni presented his newest creation: The Supersonic with a sophisticated lychee foam. Also a fresh strawberry mojito, Deviled Eggs with fine Parmesan shreds and topped with Parmesan cheese crisps. Halibut Stew, Aubrey's Wings: dry rub, buffalo and ranch for dipping. Thank you forever

Finished espresso!

One and done. Not worth getting into details as from start to finish, food to service, it was all terrible.

Review: Café Faubourg - Montclair…read more Café Faubourg is one of Montclair's true gems--an authentic French bistro that feels as if it were lifted straight from a quiet Parisian street and placed right in the heart of town. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance sets the tone: warm lighting, intimate tables, and that unmistakable bistro charm that makes every meal feel like a small escape. The food is consistently excellent, starting with their hummus, which is surprisingly standout for a French spot. Smooth, flavorful, and beautifully plated, it's the perfect way to begin the meal and pairs wonderfully with their fresh bread. The steak frites is a must-order and easily one of the best in the area. The steak is tender and cooked exactly to preference, richly seasoned without being heavy, and served alongside crisp, golden fries that are everything you want in a classic bistro dish. It's simple, authentic, and prepared with the kind of care that elevates a traditional favorite into something memorable. Service at Café Faubourg is warm and attentive without being intrusive, contributing to the relaxed elegance of the experience. Whether you're dropping in for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion, the staff makes you feel welcome and unrushed. For anyone looking for an authentic French bistro experience in Montclair--excellent food, inviting ambiance, and truly charming service--Café Faubourg delivers every time.

I've reviewed Faubourg in the past and my experiences here have been exceptional. With the bar…read moreraised that high, I think it's good for the establishment to know about certain details that impact customer satisfaction. During this visit, the plating of some of the dishes was odd, as whomever did it felt the need to position the food right at the edge of the plates. That made it difficult to eat the dishes without some of the food spilling off the side. Had to push everything to center to avoid this. Again, this was very odd, as it happened on two entrees and one dessert dish and was the first time we've seen this at Faubourg. The lamb duo had a fantastic grilled flavor, but part of it (I believe it may have been shank meat) was loaded with so much salt that it overwhelmed the flavors and was a bit difficult to continue eating. The last comment is admittedly nitpicky, but worth mentioning, as they automatically added a 20% gratuity despite the menu stating that 20% is added for parties of 6 or more. We were a party of two and I was a bit annoyed that they did this. The check also had a place for "additional tip", which was a bit presumptuous after adding the 20%. Overall, the experience was positive with a few hiccups that prevent me from giving 5 stars. Still highly recommended.

Everything was fantastic - from the early stages of planning to the day of the party, our event coordinator Isabel helped make the entire experience seamless and stress-free. On the day of the event, everything went smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests commented how friendly and attentive the service was. We have no complaints and are very grateful to the entire team for making our event so special. We look forward to returning again soon!

It was light and fresh. For my main, I had the avocado toast. This was a unique preparation with hummus and almonds. The bread was quite soft. It was tasty and filling. The accompanying crispy breakfast potatoes were excellent. Perfect texture with a nice crisp bite. The portion sizes of all of the dishes were very generous. Our table also ordered the tres leches french toast, chicken waffle, and pappardelle, and everyone was satisfied. A couple of people ordered sides of eggs and bacon and they were able to accommodate that as well. To drink, I had a couple of the non-alcoholic cocktails. They were both quite good. For dessert, I loved the creme brûlée, which was smooth and creamy, with a crunchy caramelized top layer. Our waiter was patient and prompt with requests. We really enjoyed the meal!

Now this is my kind of library!…read more Wines galore - everything you can imagine. And organized! This place is two stories. The main area is wall-to-wall aisles organized by wine varietals. The upstairs area houses a lot of specialty wines, including Kosher, and a bougie wine cellar with rare and expensive bottles kept at temperature. They also have a market section where you can purchase meats, cheeses, pastas, and other little goodies. This place is truly a one-stop-shop. You can find an inexpensive bottle to enjoy, or you can find a big, special occasion bottle. Jim G helped us locate several of the wines we were on a mission to find. He spent nearly 30 minutes with us and ensured we found everything we wanted. He also offered some great recommendations based upon our favorites. We so appreciated his passion and expertise! Maybe it's better we don't live close to this place because we'd spent way too much money way too often!

I was expecting to be blown away by the experience as this is the famous influencer Gary V's…read morefamily's store, where he got his start marketing. This business is what made him a multimillionaire, so I expected it to me magical. It was pretty ho hum. I lean towards the finer wines and liquors, so right off the bat it was disappointing. They didn't even have Tignanello in stock ... they said they could probably find a bottle online. The employees don't walk the floor ... there are lots of young-ish employees sitting at desks who have all the personality of robots. Seriously, after interacting with a few of them, I wondered if the store was closing because they seemed so put out to talk with me. The cashier was the same way. The upper level is where all the liquor is ... a very good selection. Not quite Total Wine ... They had very few rum brands and very few bottles of good gin. They did have a few bottom-level allocated items ... but no Forteleza, Pappy, Weller, etc. The markup was also incredibly high ... $150 for a bottle of Old Fitz 7 Year old bourbon. That's $70 at Total Wine. I left with a few cheap bottles at a very good price ... but they didn't have a lot of high end wines for purchase. Mostly $12 - $25 on the shelves. They had some 'special wines' they were pushing hard, showcasing a 96 point scored wine they claimed was $100 but marked down to $30. The 96 rating came from James Suckling (the biggest scammer in wine ratings) ... after a little googling, I saw that the average score was 92 and no other stores seemed to carry this. It was just okay. I was very disappointed they didn't have much Bordeaux and what they did have was a mish mash of average vintage years. Overall, I think I will skip coming back. It wasn't really anything special in terms of prices or selection. The little high end international grocery store and cheese shop was pretty cool though. There's a place called Gary's Wine about 20 minutes away, which I like a lot better.
