The car drove in normally no issues while reversing or driving at all. They brought the car out to her at pick up so she could drive off without the NEED to reverse. Upon reaching home she parked it her parking spot. The next day as she's reversing to leave her parking spot the car starts SHAKING VIOLENTLY. This had never ever happened before. She drove it back there immediately and they told her they didn't "have time" to look at it. I brought it back up there the next day because when I got in the car to understand what she was describing, I realized it wasn't anything subtle! I've driven her car many times this has never EVER happened. They took the car at my insisting and called me back 4 hours later claiming it was because my mom drove over something on the road. My mother is 71 years old and drives like ms daisy. She didn't go anywhere but home which is only 5 minutes away from this car shop. Did not run over ANYTHING. They charged her $675 to change her breaks, oil and air filter which in itself was outrageous. But the worst of it is tht they incompetently did something tht now has her car shaking (when put in reverse). What could someone run over tht could make their car shake violently ONLY when placed in reverse ? This has never happened before bringing it into this shop. When I came to the shop, her car hood was up for some reason. Then he lifted the car and tried explaining it in a way tht makes no sense showing me an OLD scratch underneath her car claiming it was the cause. I told them this scratch is old and has been there for YEARS, it is rusted and clearly nothing that was done recently. He disregarded all my points and suggestions to ensure the breaks were applied properly as if he knows I have no real choice but to accept whatever he said. As I'm walking away they start mumbling in Vietnamese and it's such a shame tht my mom brought her car here for her breaks to be changed. I would have preferred she took it to a chain mechanic shop tht are not depending on taking advantage of their customers just to make ends meet. It's really difficult finding trustworthy mechanics. If u are a lady, especially and older lady please think twice before bringing ur business here. You will regret it.

My mom brought her car in because it was hesitating to accelerate past 50 mph. After paying $189 for a diagnostic service, the mechanic first said the engine had failed and even gave her a quote for a full engine replacement. Later, the story changed -- first to a catalytic converter issue and then again to something else. When she picked up the car, it was in worse condition than before. It wouldn't go over 10 mph, and they admitted they already knew it was running that way but still let her drive it into traffic without warning her. The only reason they looked at the car again was because it came back in such bad shape. They were combative when we asked questions, and the engine cover wasn't even secured afterward. This used to be a shop we trusted, but the lack of accountability, inconsistent diagnostics, and disregard for safety were unacceptable. If you're looking for honest mechanics and reliable diagnostics, I would strongly suggest taking your vehicle elsewhere.

I decided to go to Lam's Auto Repair per a friend's recommendation and I'm really glad I did. Mr. Lam was able to inspect my car after I walked in on a Saturday morning. After 15 minutes he told me what was wrong and what needed to be done. I unfortunately also bought the wrong headlights but he was able to find some to replace them with in the shop. I decided to walk over to the lovely restaurants nearby while I waited and I was luckily able to get my car fixed within hours. His prices are very reasonable and he was very kind. This all started with me getting a code for an open thermostat. It wasn't major as I was able to…read moredrive to New Orleans and back without any problems but when I returned, I decided to change the thermostat myself. I obtained the thermostat and set up to do it one morning and I was able to take it off pretty easily but once I put it back on, it started leaking and wouldn't stop. I tried removing it again and re-tighten it, but didn't make it any better so I decided to have it towed to the shop after getting a recommendation of this place from a close friend of mine. Mike was the person I spoke with and once I had it towed there within an hour or so he called me and told me what the problem was. Apparently the thermostat housing being plastic I ended up cracking it because I tightened it too tight and they took care of the problem pretty quickly and within an hour or so they called me and told me my truck was ready. Once I arrived, Mike wasn't there, but the two techs that helped me were very thorough and explaining to what happened, they even showed me the piece that was broken. Lots of shops don't do this so immediately they became a place that I could trust in the future. I'll probably use them again instead of doing self repairs myself.

Mechanic even admitted to me he did not write in the system which cylinders he had worked on in the car so he didn't know. To summarize, her car is still misfiring on cylinders they worked on and they did not bother checking because "I didn't check the back 3 cylinders because they're harder to get to"- what the mechanic told her.
