We ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches that should take no more than 10 minutes at 9:30, and we walked out after 10. The little old man behind the counter who rings people up doesn't call out orders when they come up, he puts them in the warmer. That's where we watched our order go 15 minutes before we realized, and when we said something, he tried to say "it just came out". Oh and not to mention the lazy bald guy in the purple shirt who isn't helping anyone do anything because he's too busy drinking his coffee. We loved Jay's prior to the new owners, but we will absolutely never be back to give whoever bought it business. Our food looks like shit too, by the way.

This time around I ordered the salami and blue cheese and the roast beef special. The cheese and bread are all super fresh, but that didn't stop the roast beef sandwich from being a bit bland. The salami and blue cheese sandwich is a favorite of mine, and again was super fresh, but the sandwich was small and doesn't come with any veggies. I think the reason I am giving this two stars, and not three of four, is because of the ambiance and service. This time we waited around 20 minutes just to order our sandwiches, as there was only one person in the front, and they spent 15 minutes letting some people ahead of us sample cheese. The shop was packed, but the line was barely moving. We also saw the employees stick his nose in some mortadella and sniff it... not sure if that was a quality check but it was a bit of a turn-off. The shop itself is cute, but it has no bathroom or indoor seating, which is a must after a long car ride or hike (the area is famous for hiking). There are two outdoor tables, but they are extremely cramped. We sat down with our baby and there just wasn't enough room for us and the three ladies next to us, so my husband ate standing up. The cheese itself is quite nice and the staff is quite knowledgeable about what they products they offer. However, I like to stop here for lunch, and the lunch menu is limited to sandwiches. There are only a few sandwiches offered (maybe 5 and two specials) and they don't rotate through menu items very often, so I feel like I've tried each sandwich they offer multiple times over at this point. The sandwiches are usually quite bare and don't come with many veggies or variety. So that being said, I've been returning less because I'm a bit bored by the offerings.

At was 12:05 PM when I was informed at the register that they're serving breakfast, and not lunch. Surprising enough, I tried to find an item closest to a lunch meal. They had a bacon egg cheeseburger and I went for it. Kindly asked the personnel to leave the egg out and add extra cheese. After waiting 25 minutes I was handed my bag and drove off. When I opened the bag, to my surprise, the burger had the egg minus the extra cheese. The meat was lean and overcooked (grey all the way, not even a drop of pink in the middle), the bacon was chared and the burger literally had nothing else.... exactly what I was hoping for...

I had pretty high hopes for this place but they really dropped the ball in a bunch of ways…read more Let's start with the positives. It's a cute and charming little place. They had live music which was nice and decorated adorably for fall. I was especially hopeful since they seemed to be vegan friendly. We were greeted right away and sat and ordered within 5 minutes which was another plus. I was excited to try their vegan Mac and cheese balls and their black bean burger and despite advertising beef tallow fries, they have a designated vegan fryer. Now... where it all went downhill. Those Mac and cheese balls tasted horrible. They had almost no initial taste and the aftertaste was like soap and the texture was complete mush. And no, there was no cilantro that registered like soap. This straight up tasted like a mushy soap bomb. We waited a really long time for our food. Our waitress disappeared without saying anything and another person asked us if we wanted our check when we still hadn't gotten our main entrees. After a while, we got our food. My black bean burger was just ok. But they didn't prepare it like I requested. I ordered the blackened blue burger with a black bean patty. I believe it was $14 and was supposed to come blackened with Cajun seasoning and a vegan blue cheese and I skipped the bacon. I was asked if I wanted to vegan bun and said sure. When the bill came, my $14 burger was $21.50. I was charged for a custom burger and every single thing was an upgrade on top of it. Nothing about that burger was worth $21.50. It was barely worth $14. I was so upset that none of this was communicated to me. I've had worse food, which is why it's 2 starts instead of 1. But if I'm ever in this area again, I'll never come back.
