I had Attic Experts come out about 6 months ago and they've been great. We were dealing with old attic smell and possibly other rodent issues under the house. Damir at the time, at least, did consultations in the evening after the big jobs are done, and he was very accommodating of my schedule to examine the property, hear my concerns, and answer my questions. Quick to get me on his schedule, they cleaned out the attic through our garage, not tracking all of their work into the house, which was great for the low mess and noise since I work from home. They recovered expired rodents in the insulation, cleaned all of the old stuff out, and put in new, high efficiency, borax treated insulation that's helping us with our energy bill and with keeping our house rodent free. Additionally, he baited and set traps in our crawl space under the house and corrected some issues with entry down there. We immediately caught some rodents in the crawl space and set new traps to see if there were any lingering issues. Enough time passed that when I caught a new rodent in the crawl space, I knew there was an entry issue. Damir came back personally and investigated, found where some of the metal screens he placed had been pushed out, and fixed the issue no charge. We've been odor and rodent free from the end of winter through all of spring so far, and I owe it to Attic Experts who took a really holistic approach to our problem. If you're looking for a company to redo your insulation, look no further. I wanted to remove my old insulation, remove my whole house fan, foam up everything, upgrade the ducts and blow in new cellulose insulation. I've had many quotes and Damir was by far the most professional and helpful in answering all my questions. He spent 15 min walking around my attic performing an inspections. Other attic companies came to my house and some didn't speak English very well. They didn't even spend 5 minutes in the attic and complained how bad my attic was with a lot of rodent droppings and asbestos on my boots on my ducting. I've been up in my attic many times and never seen rodent droppings and I know what asbestos is and didn't have that. My wife worked with Damir, who was great. He arrived (a bit late, but called with an updated ETA) to do an assessment of our attic insulation, and his findings were consistent with others. In fact, he was more thorough than others, who only poked their heads in to do a quick lookaround; Damir actually went up and walked all around the attic for a few minutes. He provided a thorough assessment of the current state of the attic insulation and then provided me with a breakdown of all the options we had, as well as provided his recommendation of what to do. My wife felt that he was honest, forthcoming, and not a pushy salesperson, and his bid was competitive, though on par with some others that we checked out (based on square footage and materials). On the day of the insulation, Damir himself was part of the 2-person team that arrived to do the work, and they were both very clean and respectful. Damir found that our air vents in the eaves would blow the insulation around too much, so he attached cardboard to keep insulation in place. Additionally, he used batting to insulate the attic door itself, so we wouldn't lose heat there. Also! They left our house cleaner than they had found it. They found the least intrusive way to move their equipment into our home; additionally, they took off their shoes whenever they were inside the home (and wore booties once they were in the attic) and even isolated the parts where they needed to work with plastic sheets so dust wouldn't get anywhere. Our house is now much better insulated, and the heater doesn't run all the time. I had the pleasure of having Damir and his team work on the insulation in the attic. Before choosing Damir, I called 3 other places and none of them were as competitive as Damir. Also, unlike some of the other guys, Damir is very forthcoming, very organized, thorough, and did not recommend any unnecessary work. He also took the time to explain every concern I had about the choices that was available. When it came time to do the work, he and his crew arrived on time. They were well prepared and had all the tools, accessories, and machinery needed for the job. You can tell these guys are professionals. The crew worked hard despite the heat in the attic. They were very thorough and did a very nice job. The guys were all very respectful and did not cause any damage and cleaned up after they were done. No one wants to spend money on insulation because its an intangible home improvement item. However, I think it was worth every penny after I saw how much labor that was put in to doing the job. We just had Damir come out to inspect our attic today for a strange smell coming from the bedroom with attic access. He came out, was on time and inspected the attic. Damir told me our attic looked great with no evidence of animals or other problems. He helped rule out the attic as the source of the smell, gave me some alternate source for the smell, and best of all did not charge us for the inspection. We recently bought a house in Concord with very little almost non-existent insulation in the attic. The house was freezing during the winter and 90+ degrees during the summer. We were going to have central air and heat installed and needed to get some new insulation. Damir was the third person we received a quote from prior to installation. He was very straight forward about the process and his recommendations. Also his price was better than the previous quotes. He cleaned out the attic prior to the ductwork installation. Even the contractors working in the attic were talking about what an amazing and thorough job he did. It was spotless. The day after the ductwork was in Damir came to install the blow in insulation. The house is so cozy now and I can't wait to feel the difference in the summer. There is no difference in temperature between rooms and we have saved about $100 on this months PG&E bill. Damir was flexible about scheduling the project around a roof replacement, when I was only given a 2 week notice on when the roof would be done. The crew came on the day after the old shake roof was removed, so they were able to access to attic space from the outside. No mess to the inside of the house. "They did a good job." as said by my husband. Five words have never meant so much. My husband is VERY particular about contractors. He's meticulous about home renovations and will often do something himself because most contractors don't meet his standards of quality. He's the type of person who would repaint the ceiling of the closet if you accidentally got a tiny stroke of white paint on the white ceiling while painting the walls. And even if it was covered by a box, he would repaint it because it would be a different shade of white. And even though no one would notice it, he'd do it because he "would know it's there." So when he says that someone did a "good job," it means it was an EXCELLENT AMAZING 6-star job. My husband inspected the attic after Attic Experts removed the old insulation, and after they put in the new insulation. They were very thorough and meticulous with their work. The communication to set up the appointment was also excellent. Damir calls you back and keeps you informed. The price was very reasonable too. I am so impressed by this company. Amazing work at a very good value. They easily beat a bid we got from another company. This is our third house and we have done tons of work with different companies and contractors over the years. Sometimes you end a project feeling ripped off or unhappy with the result. Not this time. We have a 100-year old house with a large attic that probably had not been cleaned since house was built. These guys cleaned it so it looked brand new. Kudos to Attic Experts for an excellent job on my single level house. I shopped around asking 3 bidders. First bidder I asked him if he can come over to visually evaluate and cost estimate. He said, this phone conversation is already my free estimate as I already know the problem. He gave me pricing. 2nd, he came over and asked me if I have a ladder so he can take a look. Told him no, so he went back to his truck and grab his ladder. Did a quick peek into the attic not even going in the attic. Done he gave me pricing. 3rd is Damir. We exchanged text messages which is really good for communication. He arrived on time. Went up into the attic and crawl all the way in the middle. Even picked up a dead rat. On December 19th he called me around 9.30 am and around 6 pm the job was complete. They removed old insulation, made the attic rodent proof and put new insulation. He gave me a competitive quote over the phone (rare, usually they want to come out to your place before they give you an estimate) and then actually charged me less. He did blow in insulation for my 900 sq ft attic, and was in-and-out within 2.5 hours, cleaning up behind them; he also arrived exactly on time. Chose this company based on testimony of the other reviews. We had rats in our attic and the previous pest control folks were ineffective . We then called Damir and two other companies for quotes. Damir had a very competitive quote but what I liked best was the time he spent in the attic and around the house looking at the scope of the problem. The other two firms pretty much popped their heads into the attic and then proceeded into the sales pitch. Damir did a thorough job at removing the old insulation and then blowing in new insulation. He also plugged holes that the previous pest control team failed to find because those folks didn't bother to walk through the attic to find the holes. After the job was done, we still heard scratching sounds. Damir came back out and found that a mouse had been hiding in the gap between our chimney and attic. It was apparently hiding in the crawl space while Damir was cleaning out the attic and then it scaled our chimney back into the attic once the job was done. Damir set traps, sealed up the gaps in our chimney, and walked the perimeter of our house to make sure everything was covered. This company is exemplary. Damir is a hard worker and knows the value of doing things right. I had a big rat problem, and Attic Experts removed the old attic insulation and any rats that were there, cleaned and sanitized my attic, replaced the insulation and rat proofed. Damir has returned a couple of times when I realized the rats were getting in to the crawlspace and has not charged me extra for investigating and rat proofing those areas, even though I expected to be charged for it.
