We were in MV for a girls trip and I'm so glad we celebrated our last night at 19 Raw. I…read morerecommended this restaurant to my friends based on the reviews and it did not disappoint - the food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. To start, a couple of us ordered oysters as an appetizer and they were delicious, fresh and tasty. For our main courses, we ordered filet mignon, chicken, lobster tagliatelle and tuna from the diverse menu. Each one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Everything was cooked exactly as ordered and seasoned perfectly. We also ordered a few sides, such as the roasted carrots with cashew butter, brussel sprouts with pork landons and my favorite - the scallion goat cheese mash, which were mashed potatoes packed with yumminess! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent service, while the ambience was quite comfortable and inviting. I remembered reading reviews about the carrot cake and although we were all full, we knew we had to try it so we got one slice for the five of us and it may have been the best carrot cake I've ever eaten. If you like carrot cake this is a must and well worth it. If you're in Edgartown, I would definitely include 19 Raw in your restaurant list.

We started with the lobster and caviar Hawaiian roll, which was flavorful and delicious. The grilled octopus served over pork and white beans was another standout--the flavor profile here was top tier. Honestly, the appetizers had me expecting the rest of the meal to be on the same level. Unfortunately, the entrées were a different story. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly temperature-wise, but the lack of seasoning was unbelievable. The execution was there, but it desperately needed flavor. We also ordered the halibut, which was extremely dry--to the point that I couldn't finish it. The sides brought things back around. The jalapeño corn and Brussels sprouts were both and packed with flavor. And then there was the Filthy Dirty Rich Martini with caviar-stuffed olives --AMAZING. Easily one of the highlights of the night and something I would absolutely order again. Overall, 19 Raw nails the ambiance, cocktails, appetizers, and service. The appetizers in particular showed just how good the kitchen can be, which made the disappointing entrées even more surprising. I'd come back, but next time I might stick to cocktails, appetizers, and small plates.

Went for dinner last night. Very friendly service and greeting. We were seated upstairs, which was…read morea surprise. I've probably been here 5 times and never realized there was an upstairs! We were given menus and water, and after about 15 minutes the server came to tell us the special. We asked if we could order drinks, and we did. They came fairly quickly and were very good. Then we waited about 25 minutes and finally had to get the servers attention to order our dinner. That was a bit surprising, to wait that long without anyone coming to check on us. In any case, once we ordered the food arrived in a timely fashion. My Little Gem salad was delicious, with roasted squash and cornbread crumbles. The menu said crab, but I'm not sure it was on there. One issue with the upstairs, while it is cozy it is dark so it made it difficult to see the food. My husband loved his tuna tartare (as did I ) and our guest enjoyed her Little Gem salad. She had informed the waitress that she has Alpha Gal, so they left off the cornbread crumbles, and brought a little side ramekin of the crispy chicken skin crumbles that they use on their chicken dish. Very considerate! My main course of black cod was outstanding! The menu stated that it came on a saffron infused lobster fregola, which turned out to be small balls of pasta (sort of like Israeli couscous) and it was amazing. Big chunks of lobster were included, which was totally unexpected. The fish was perfectly cooked, with the skin crispy. My husband's pork chop was amazing. The flavor was spectacular! It came with a wild mushroom risotto, which he loved. He doesn't "like" mushrooms and he said if he had read that detail on the menu (again, sort of dark) he might not have ordered it. But now he said he would again! Our guest was so happy with her Alpha Gal friendly pan seared halibut. We were all so happy with the meal, despite the delay initially with the service. A very lovely evening, and surprisingly for us, no leftovers!

It was still quite chilly outside but we were sandwiched between two heaters which made it very manageable. Our waitress was wonderful and service was incredibly prompt which I appreciate because I have noticed that service on the island is generally more relaxed (i.e. slow). For appetizers we shared the baby gem salad and the pork bolognese. Both good but the pork bolognese was a small but mighty star. Pasta was perfectly al dente and we really enjoyed the goat cheese with the pork. For our mains we ordered the pork chop, halibut and mushroom lasagna. The portions were large and we were all satisfied with our orders (though the pork chop was quite salty). Enjoyed this enough that I would for sure come back.

Everything was very "americanized" - which in this case meant tons of cream and sugar in every single dish. We got the chicken tenders for my toddler and those were actually good. The garlic naan had raw garlic on top, which made for a pretty unpleasant taste. The palak paneer and the malai kofta honestly tasted like nothing - just cream and sugar. NOT the experience or taste I was looking for, sadly. The paneer tikka was the one dish I enjoyed. They put hot mustard oil on top - it can be a strong flavor, but it worked in my opinion. They did bring a coloring page and crayons for my toddler, which I appreciated. While I am a little flabbergasted by the excellent reviews, I can see how folks that didn't grow up to indian food would enjoy their offerings. Overall, 2.5 - 3 stars for me.

Our server was Luka who was extremely polite, helpful and attentive. He watched his assigned tables carefully, and all we needed to do was look in his direction and he came over to ask what we needed. We were told he was a new employee and that impressed us even more. I had a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, both of which were perfectly done and tasty. My wife had a small steak with a mixed greens salad. The kitchen initially sent out cooked vegetables but when we questioned it, Luka immediately apologized and got it corrected. He was also helpful when I ordered hot tea, coming back to show me their selection of teas and making sure I was happy with what I ordered. In all, we agreed Luka's service made it a very enjoyable dinner.

During my last visit, I tried the PEI mussels which were hot and flavorful with nicely grilled bread to soak up the juices. I also tried the short rib poutine which was too salty for my taste. A neighboring dinner guest also complained about a salty dish so I think they have an issue. Otherwise, I would give them 5 stars but the kitchen needs to reduce the use of that salt shaker.

While I can appreciate the choose your own adventure / tasting concept and benefits of moving at your own pace, wine tasting is something where I'd prefer to have more of a personal touch. The storytelling and personal connection was missing, and made the experience feel a bit hollow. The space was a nice open hang and there's snacks and games, and there is staff there, but the experience made me realize I prefer a guided human tour for some things, wine tasting being one of them. Prices also snuck up on us a bit, it's easy to lose count of how many you've had with the card reader. I was also a bit bummed to find that if you liked a wine you cannot purchase a bottle on site. But I'm glad I tried it and had fun.

The restaurant is so cozy, the service is always quick and friendly, they have an outstanding tequila selection and the food is tremendous. We had the taleggio agnolotti, rabbit pappardelle, sunchokes, foccacia, halibut, scallops, pork schnitzel and duck leg cassoulet. Truly all of the food was outstanding but my favorites were the cassoulet, rabbit pasta and the halibut. The pork was good but do note that it is a positively enormous amount of food! We were so full that we almost skipped dessert but we had to try just a couple of things so we ordered the Dubai chocolate ice cream and the sticky toffee pudding which were both great but the ice cream was the favorite. For our mains we had the gnocchi and scallops! The gnocchi came piping hot. Chunks of octopus spread throughout. Seasoned well, great texture. Gnocchi cooked just right. The real star was the scallops dish! Beautiful dish. Each scallop cooked in buttery goodness. Sitting on delicious sauce. The maitake mushrooms were cooked to perfection. Good crust and flavors. For dessert we shared the grapenut ice cream. Light essence of smoked maple flavor. Lots of crunch with the cereal. More crunch than ice cream.
