Atomic Wings opened in the former Wings Over Albany space in Guilderland. This Atomic Wings is part of a small chain based in New York City. Like before, the space inside is pretty cramped with a few booths, 2 flatscreen TVs hanging off the walls and takeout counter in the back. Most customers can place their order online and pickup at the store or use DoorDash delivery. Atomic Wings offers wings, boneless wings, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, wraps, burgers, chicken & waffles, waffle fries, sweet potato fries, can sodas (Pepsi products) and deep fried Oreos. Similar to other wing places, they offer 15 kinds of sauces with varying degrees of hotness from Sweet & Tangy (mild) to Nuclear (extremely hot). Combo deals (most $8.99) served with waffle fries are also offered. I stopped in at Atomic Wings recently for takeout. The place seemed busy with about 5 people already waiting in front of the counter for their orders. No one was at the counter for a while and then 2 workers come out from the back and hand out bagged orders a few a time to the waiting customers, most who already ordered online. If paying by credit card, you can also order and pay on the small touchscreen pad at the counter. If paying cash, you have to wait for someone to take your order. I was paying cash, so it took about 8 minutes after arriving before someone took my order. I decided to order the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich ($7.99) and made it a Combo with Waffle Fries ($8.99 plus tax). After that, it took about 21 minutes for my food to be ready. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was a good size which had tender breaded boneless chicken cover in a spicy buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and American cheese as requested on a big soft bun. The waffle fries were deep fried golden and thick, soft/firm texture. The food was pretty decent. The service was delayed (it was busy here), but otherwise I received everything as I ordered it. read more

Dishonest establishment, will not go back! Went to order online, order would not process, received a "could not connect to restaurant" error message. Much later I found out they charged my card anyway - I called and spoke to a manager who refused to refund me because they made my food. I explained that I had no idea my food was even being cooked, the order said it would not process on my end. Additionally, I never received an order confirmation via email or text (which I always receive at other times). Was told by the manager that it does not matter, it is their policy to never offer refunds once the food starts cooking, even if their online site is malfunctioning. I am now out over $50. My husband had a craving for Buffalo chicken wings. This was a big deal, since we're still in the middle of a pandemic and my husband has been a bit wary about getting take out. I picked up an order of hot wings and a Buffalo Chicken sandwich at Atomic Wings late this afternoon. The owner was super nice. I heated it the meal up in the microwave and he "inhaled" it at 5pm for dinner. My husband was SO happy. He gave it 5-out-of-5 and said it was delicious. This was his idea of comfort food. I have ordered in person and waited over 45 mins while I have seen other people walk in after me, order, and received their orders before me. -- once I go back up to remind them of my order they said 15/20 mins. I have ordered online twice, waited until the time to pick up which was already 30 mins and when I walked in to pick up they said 25/20 mins. That is absolutely ridiculous. My friend didn't notice until nearly an hour later (phone was on silent) that there was a missed call from them, and no voicemail, no text, no email. Friend tried calling back multiple times, couldn't get through. Finally got through after a while, and was told that they could not deliver to our location as it was too far away (5 miles....). I was not the one on the phone though. and then, we were supposed to get a refund, but now it's nearly a month later and I just realized that they never refunded my credit card. Walked in and ordered 5 wings to try this place after they took over for wings over. My friend ordered 10 wings and an order of fries as well. We placed our orders at 530 with no one else in the place and sat down to wait. I finally got my wings at 605 and ate them in ten minutes waiting for my friend to receive his order. Had time to spare as his came out at 620. The jerk bbq flavor I ordered tasted nothing more than a spicy bbq and my friends order of lemon pepper was nothing but wings slathered in butter with black pepper, he said there was no lemon taste whatsoever. I ordered wings which were missing (celery and bluecheese add on was included), they gave me a buffalo blue cheese burger instead of the swiss shroom I ordered, their mac and cheese had a literal inch of grease floating above it, and the mozzarella had leaked completely out of the mozzarella sticks. Order came half an hour late, and was delivered by a different delivery service than I ordered from. Called to complain- the girl who answered stated she packed the food herself (not something to brag about!) so the wings couldnt be missing, and that I ordered the buffalo burger. That got me thinking, but NOPE! Checked the receipt, I ordered correctly. Angrily told me I would get a refund and hung up. Minutes later she called back and acted like a middleman between us and the manager (I could hear him but he refused to get on the phone). An offer to remake the entire order was made (this is 2 hours after ordering, and after I was told I would get a refund) Then I waz told I could only get a refund for the wings. After arguing, I was told the burger would be, too. When I said that most of the order was honestly unacceptable, I was told to cancel payment in that case and hung up on. Tonight was my first time here. Before leaving the house, I read the previous reviews and noticed some negative comments. Let me say that the restaurant seems to have improved in every case. We didn't experience any of the problems mentioned in previous reviews. We received our food about 10-15 min after ordering. Everything tasted fresh and good. The service was outstanding. The whole operation seemed well run. The staff was friendly. The wings were great it was crunchy on the exterior but soft tender chicken on the inside. We ordered the teriyaki but there are many other choices. I am excited about trying the nuclear wings next time. read more
