What a gem located near me on Upper Union Street in Schenectady. First time to visit! Ordered: Chicken Chapli with Pita instead of fries (choice) Chicken and Lamb platter with Pita Swarma Wrap Received generous portions of flavorful Mediterranean food. The Chicken and Lamb were moist and tender. I am not a lamb lover, but this lamb could change my mind. The rice was spiced mildly and tasted great with the meats. The pita was cut into small pieces, but I would have preferred a whole or half pita. I will ask next time. The owner supplied me with three different sauces on the side to try ranging from mild to spicy (green one). The Chicken Chapli was a cut up well seasoned chicken patty. A few meat combinations are available. (See pic of Menu) The Swarma Wrap was moist and a little messy to eat since I sliced it into two portions. It had a medium spiced sauce and small salad pieces such as cucumber. Not my favorite. The owner was friendly and thanked me for my business. He said they cater for as few as ten people if interested. I commented on the long hours they are open (10 am to 1:15 am), and he responded with a smile, "We're from the City." There are several tables to dine in if wanted. Lots of natural light from the large front windows makes the place inviting. The pick up counter with kitchen behind it is beyond the tables. The walls are decorated nicely, and the place screamed CLEAN. Parking is in front, and the restaurant is easy to access. There are no steps to enter. GO HERE. The owner is so so nice and the food is great. I got falafel platter and it was gigantic, and the falafel was lightly crispy but soft inside. Meat platters are huge too, and the wraps are hefty for only around $7. Every flavor of Jarritos to drink too which is great. SAUCE IS UNLIMITED! Some places are stingy about giving extra sauce but he did not mind at all. Food is well spiced and flavorful, hot sauce is great. We're probably coming back again this week (and they have cake which is amazing!) read more

The food tastes fresh and the little sauces they use are homemade which is a nice touch. I can see they stick to a tight menu (unlike diners with too many foods) so that usually means food rotates and I believe is the reason it's fresh. Everything is new but I want to say they had business in NYC before here because they know how to do their cooking. My thing is I've never seen a cleaner establishment, thanks for doing that, my sensitive stomach appreciates it. read more

Great food! I took the kids to try this new place and I was not disappointed. We ordered a few different items for myself and some kid friendly ones. I got the lamb wrap and the lamb was tender and well seasoned. We also got an older of falafels and I think they are the best falafels I've ever had. I would go back just for an order of these. For the kids I got mozzarella sticks and French fries. The former are standard but the fries had spices on them that the kids couldn't handle; they were not spicy for me in the least. Chaplin and Platters was extremely clean and the service was very friendly. They are a welcomed addition to Schenectady. read more

Walking in, the first thing I noticed is how immaculately clean everything is. Service was warm, helpful and friendly. I got a platter with rice, salad and fries. Food came out quickly and everything was fresh, hot and super delicious. I loved the sauces. Prices are very reasonable too. Falafel is the only vegetarian option - if there was a non-fried option I could eat here more regularly. Great addition to the neighborhood! read more

Omg. Didn't know what wanted so just got normal philly cheese steak and fries. Chef asked didn't want any sauce which all looked awesome I said chef choice.
