If they can confirm they have fixed it, I will gladly take the review down. But I wanted to warn everyone. The movie screen had 3 big stains on it, like someone had thrown drinks at the screen and they never cleaned it off. Plus, there were two thin black lines that ran vertically down the screen - and in the middle of those lines, a giant splotch - the biggest of the 3 stains - about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. And in the left top corner, a frayed black box eating up that part of the screen. I really wanted to walk out and ask for a refund, but the movie had already started and I didn't want to hunt down another theater and another showtime. I also considered that I should let the staff know, but it was so obvious (6 defects in total) that I didn't bother because there is no way I was the first to bring it to their attention. We live in Emerald Isle, this is the only theater on the isle, we are big movie fans and we LIVE to support local business - so this is extremely unfortunate as it's a dealbreaker for a movie theater - a clean screen. Please get this fixed....I'm posting this on here and Google so you can easily get in touch with me if you need to.

Caught Divergent on it's opening day at 9:45pm and it wasn't too packed. We showed up by 9:15, but there wasn't really a line for seats. It's also nice that you can pre-order tickets for this theater on Fandango. Concessions are expensive, like any other movie theater. $4 for a box of Reese's Pieces. It's not a stadium seating theater--those are tough to come by in small towns--but still not too rinky dink. The floor was sticky where I sat, probably since there were in a rush to clean up after the previous movie to get all the next people in. Not a huge problem, just moved seats because it wasn't a packed house. Lots of previews, which I loved. Also a few behind-the -scenes clips to watch before the previews even begin so you're not just sitting there in a dim theater. Will probably come back here next time I'm catching a movie in town.

Charged us for adult tickets instead of Senior, even though I asked the cashier if she charged us for the Senior rate and she said "yes". We went into the theater the next day and talked to the manager. He said that "he can't do anything because you already watched the movie". We explained that we didn't want a refund for the movie, just the difference of the price of the tickets. He still said that there's nothing he could do!! He also kept saying "it's only a couple of dollars". I said it was the principal! Are the employees pocketing the difference??? How many other people have they done it to?? I've also called the GM's (Andre) cell and left 2 VMs and has never returned my calls. We will not be returning to that theater until they make it right! I will say I did notice that the bathroom and floors were a little dirty for it being so early in the morning but hey, no big deal. The screen flickered a few times during the movie. The individual who checked us in and pointed us to our theater was very friendly and seemed enthusiastic. We bought our tickets online and the process was easy. For two "discounted price" adult tickets, the total came out to $26 due to a service fee being added on.

The prices for the hot food is actually affordable! The movie started about 10 mins after showtime, which is quick ! Left to go to the restroom as I'm used to 30 min previews. My friend told me the movie started as soon as I left. I love the promptness! I wish this type of movie theater was in the city where I live! The seats were clean and they reclined. They have little trays with cup holders for your food, which was awesome! When I was booking the tickets, I saw they even have love seat type seating on the bottom row for couples. That is so awesome and cool. When I'm in town visiting again, I would most definitely stop by here if there's a movie playing I want to see! The only thing that was a bit off putting was the atmosphere upon entering the theater. It was obvious that they had the Fogmaster 5000 cranked up for a while before opening. It was too much for my wife and I agree that the Fog was rich that evening. The New Bern Civic Theater is a jem for a local cultural experience. If you make a tax deductible contribution of $500 and greater you are entitled two season tickets valued at $200. What a deal!

Restrooms were on both sides of the building, and apparently I was the only one who figured out that to escape the rush after your movie you can just go to the other side.
