A few random points: - You can buy tickets in advance via their website but there is a surcharge - F&B offerings are expectedly slim but pricing is on the reasonable side - If you are towards the back of the theatre make sure you close the door as the noise from the lobby will bleed in and you won't hear the movie - You will definitely pick up some noise from the adjacent theatre Go with the flow and apply some context as to where you are. No, there are not going to be tons of "comfort upgrades" at a strip mall movie theatre considering the size of the surrounding area that it's in. Just be glad this exists at all. I mean sure you might have to overlook the leaking ceiling in the lobby or the need to wait a few minutes while the concession area registers each get rebooted a few times or the line in the parking lot to get in since they basically start all four screens at the same time but the staff we encountered were friendly and we appreciated the option to do something at night since the overall choices in the AB area are slim. Caught Divergent on it's opening day at 9:45pm and it wasn't too packed. We showed up by 9:15, but there wasn't really a line for seats. It's also nice that you can pre-order tickets for this theater on Fandango. Concessions are expensive, like any other movie theater. $4 for a box of Reese's Pieces. It's not a stadium seating theater--those are tough to come by in small towns--but still not too rinky dink. The floor was sticky where I sat, probably since there were in a rush to clean up after the previous movie to get all the next people in. Not a huge problem, just moved seats because it wasn't a packed house. Lots of previews, which I loved. Also a few behind-the -scenes clips to watch before the previews even begin so you're not just sitting there in a dim theater. Will probably come back here next time I'm catching a movie in town.

Charged us for adult tickets instead of Senior, even though I asked the cashier if she charged us for the Senior rate and she said "yes". We went into the theater the next day and talked to the manager. He said that "he can't do anything because you already watched the movie". We explained that we didn't want a refund for the movie, just the difference of the price of the tickets. He still said that there's nothing he could do!! He also kept saying "it's only a couple of dollars". I said it was the principal! Are the employees pocketing the difference??? How many other people have they done it to?? The concession stand had popped corn, and a fine selection of wine, and few selections of beer, oh and White Claw for those that like water with alcohol. The production was Rock of Ages and with an intermission in the middle the act let out at 10pm. I enjoyed the show and the theater was packed although I could not speak for the balcony seats. The only thing that was a bit off putting was the atmosphere upon entering the theater. It was obvious that they had the Fogmaster 5000 cranked up for a while before opening. It was too much for my wife and I agree that the Fog was rich that evening. The New Bern Civic Theater is a jem for a local cultural experience. If you make a tax deductible contribution of $500 and greater you are entitled two season tickets valued at $200. What a deal!
