Giant Splotch / Lines on the Screen It pains me to write this, since this appears to be a locally-owned small business - so forgive me for what I am going to say. If they can confirm they have fixed it, I will gladly take the review down. But I wanted to warn everyone. The movie screen had 3 big stains on it, like someone had thrown drinks at the screen and they never cleaned it off. Plus, there were two thin black lines that ran vertically down the screen - and in the middle of those lines, a giant splotch - the biggest of the 3 stains - about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. And in the left top corner, a frayed black box eating up that part of the screen. I really wanted to walk out and ask for a refund, but the movie had already started and I didn't want to hunt down another theater and another showtime. I also considered that I should let the staff know, but it was so obvious (6 defects in total) that I didn't bother because there is no way I was the first to bring it to their attention. We live in Emerald Isle, this is the only theater on the isle, we are big movie fans and we LIVE to support local business - so this is extremely unfortunate as it's a dealbreaker for a movie theater - a clean screen. Great little theater to catch s movie with out all the crowds . They have all the new releases on release day . The place is a bit dated and could really use an overhaul . The snacks are mid tier and the popcorn is decent . It's not a place to hang out , but if you want to catch a good flick for a decent price away from the crowds it'll get you through . Don't let the decors throw you . It really is a good movie watching experience. read more

Don't trust online movie times. We waited around for hours for a movie to start. Went in to buy tickets and were told the movie started 50mins prior to the advertised time. Ticket counter was unapologetic just shrugged and said "obviously you didn't look at OUR website". read more

This theater needs a renovation. We saw Rock of Ages today without surround sound. Zero previews. It made the movie stale and boring. Please add some cup holders to the chairs during the renovation. There were three orders of popcorn for three people. One was burnt, one was too salty and one tasted like old oil. Popcorn refills cost 3.50 and in an up to date theater, refills are typically free with a large order. The floor is just as sticky as it was when I came here for project graduation in 1996. Don't bother with this theater. Rent from red box and watch your movie at your beach house. read more

This is the best "OLD SCHOOL" type theater staff is very nice and the sound and picture is very good for an old movie theater.

Good movie theater. When I watched Pirates 4 there, I had a great time at that movie theater. Even though I came there in 2008 first, it has still been a moderately good theater. read more

My husband and I come here for movies instead of going into Jacksonville because even with a military discount, paying 14 bucks EACH for a movie ticket seems kind of crazy. The ticket prices are reasonable, and they have most of the latest movies. It's a small island theater, it's clearly intended for people coming off the beach in the evening. Despite other reviews dragging the theater for being dingy and old, it's a nice place to watch a movie theater. Once the lights go down, it's not like you see anything anyway lol. I'll take cheaper tickets and normal chairs over outrages ticket prices with a recliner. The snacks are yummy, the teens working there are friendly, and it has a nice small town feel to it. It's not a big city theater and it's not pretending to be. It's pleasant. read more

Good place to take a break from the beach and heat and catch a flick. Saw Wonder Woman with a group of 8 on a Thursday evening. Theater was busy but not overcrowded. Digital projection and sound were fine for such a small theater. Decor old and tired, but once the lights were out and the movie was on all was good, except for the semi-uncomfortable seating. read more

If you absolutely positively have no other options and want 1990's era projection systems quality on reels instead of HD, IMAX, or 3D.

I've been coming here for over a decade and I really like this theater. I don't even mind the increased prices after the renovations. But please stop showing 10 minutes of commercials after the movie start time or I'll start going down to Atlantic read more

This place was small, and a little run down. The actual theatre seating area was stuffy and too warm for my taste. The theater seems like it might just need a really good deep clean and some temperature adjustment, and it would be just fine. The price of a matinee at $6.50 is really awesome, and I'm completely satisfied with that. Being that it's the only theatre in the local area, I will continue to go see movies there. The alternative is going to Jacksonville and paying almost double to see a movie in a crowded theatre. read more

Pretty standard small town movie theater - no frills or special amenities. Seating was somewhat small and uncomfortable. I realize that it's located on the isle, so I wasn't expecting too much but if they're charging the same same price as larger theaters, they should consider some upgrades. If you're a big movie buff and really want to enjoy the full theater experience (seating, sound quality, concessions, etc) you'll probably want to make the drive to a better theater. read more

The young man running the ticket sales and concessions was pleasant and everything was going well until about 15 minutes into the movie. My legs started itching and I looked around the seats. To my horror, I discovered that the seats were infested with fleas!!!! As I was leaving , the only employee I saw was the teenager at the concessions . At this point , I just wanted to get out of there and immediately go home and shower. Never going back there again under any circumstances. I'll go to AB or Jacksonville from now on. read more

This is a nice little theater. The movie quality was good. The electric went out while we were there and they gave us rain checks to come back. We went back and watched the movie on a different day. The staff was very kind and friendly. It is a tiny theater but was not crowded. The sound was a little loud and you could sometimes hear loud noises from the other movies that were playing. read more

Make the trip to Jacksonville to see a movie instead of this place. The chairs were uncomfortable, the room was smelly and HOT. Only Pepsi products (yuck0) and the diet Pepsi wasn't working, I wouldn't have touched the popcorn with a ten foot pole. I it was so hot I went to get a water. We went to the late showing at 9:10 and when I went to the concession stand to get a water at about 10:00, it was already closed. When I questioned this, I was told "We assumed everyone had gotten their concessions."(Why would you assume that??) I was told I could get a bottled water "only if I had exact change." Ridiculous. Staff snarky and unprofessional, facility run down and dirty. Go to Jacksonville or Atlantic Beach. read more
