Place charges double on every wine bottle from the prices we looked up. Then you pay a $6 corking fee. To top it off, for the wines they were "sampling", they might as well have just shown us the bottle and not opened them. We were told to bring our own glasses but wine got poured in tiny white plastic cups. And when I say pour I mean two literal drops of wine. My only, and mean ONLY qualm with this studio is the lack of communication. It is difficult when you are not in the "in crowd" with the other parents (who are typically aren't very helpful) but if they were to update their website and increase their communication they might have less issues last minute with their dance productions. It didn't affect me as much, but I saw other parents struggle with it.

Brad's Drink was created as a digestive aid containing pepsin and kola nuts. It was renamed Pepsi-Cola in 1898. Today, the Pepsi Store is a soda fountain, a museum and a gift shop. Caleb Bradham's original pharmacy was a wooden building that burned down before he died in the 1930s. A new brick building was constructed after the fire. The museum is in both the soda fountain side of the store and the gift shop section, too. You can read about the history and see the original fountain tools, Pepsi bottles, advertising, and antique collectibles. The walls and pillars have a lot of detailed signage. I didn't try anything at the Soda Fountain as I don't like Pepsi, but I kind of regret not getting a float. I think it would have been fun to sit at the fountain. But I was too busy reading about the history. Apparel was a big item in the gift shop; they had had socks, t-shirts, sweatshirts and even baby bibs. Tumblers, books, puzzles, stuffed toys, key chains, magnets, decals, signs and stationery (greeting cards and postcards). Restrooms were also available inside, which is a great convenience for those walking around downtown. I got to see Bradham's house on the New Bern Trolley tour, the Slover-Bradham House. It was built in 1848 and is a beautiful Greek Revival mansion. Whether you are a fan of the drink or just a fan of North Carolina history, this is a must-stop in New Bern. You can go back in time and see where Pepsi began.

BEWARE OF BEARTOWN CINEMA Beartown Cinema overcharged us on…read moremovie tickets the other night. Charged us for adult tickets instead of Senior, even though I asked the cashier if she charged us for the Senior rate and she said "yes". We went into the theater the next day and talked to the manager. He said that "he can't do anything because you already watched the movie". We explained that we didn't want a refund for the movie, just the difference of the price of the tickets. He still said that there's nothing he could do!! He also kept saying "it's only a couple of dollars". I said it was the principal! Are the employees pocketing the difference??? How many other people have they done it to?? I've also called the GM's (Andre) cell and left 2 VMs and has never returned my calls. We will not be returning to that theater until they make it right! If you go to that theater, make sure you look at your receipt!
