Fair prices for seniors and matinees. Way over priced on everything else. I ordered a soda which was $8.50! Seats are worn down, some have uncomfortable bars or hard spots and I find myself shifting around a lot during movies trying to get comfortable. Many theaters elsewhere have reclining seats, its a shame they have no upgraded. Many theater operators seem to have confused loud with with good. Sometimes when at this theater the speakers are cranked up so high the speakers are distorting and painful. I bring ear plugs now and use them to lower the volume. read more

Some of the theaters smell like mildew, kinda gross. The best theater is the new Dolby Theater with the updated seats and sound. If you can get tickets for that one, definitely do it. Sometimes the popcorn is a little stale, but they have a decent food selection. Just expensive. read more

Daughter got us tickets to this theater. Appeared to be clean. Food ridiculously priced. We got cheese popcorn that was rather good. I was surprised. The theater was okay, seating fine, though my daughter though they had recliners.....lol (in Jville, Na) During the movie we could hear the other movie (SO LOUD) it had to be an action movie. It was hard for us to hear our Romcom. At the end of the movie my daughter went to tell management. Perhaps moving action movies to a different room so it would not interfere with another movie would be helpful. When we told her about how hard it disrupted our movie the cashier just said, oh, I will tell my manager. No apology or let me get the manager. Just Okay.... We will never know if management was told or if they even care. Just an apology would have been nice to come out of the staffs mouth. They need better training on how to handle complaints. I was fortunate enough to call and be able to speak with the general manager, who took the time to sit with me and really give me the attention that it took to solve my problem. Dear AMC theaters... this theater location needs some love. If you are after a retro 1990s movie theater vibe, then you are 100% on target. I've seen how great your theaters can be and this one is in need of your assistance. While the Coke Freestyle machines are heading in the right direction, reserved and upgraded seating would be highly requested. Not to mention some updated lighting and decor in the main entrance area. There was a constant humming noise throughout the movie.... was it the air conditioner? old movie equipment? some sort of air quality machine put in for keeping the theater cleaner? Who knows, but it affected the quality of the movie. The theater did not smell clean. It looked clean from the dark perspective we had but the smell of freshness was not there. If you are going to keep cloth seats, then at least attempt to help them smell clean. AMC.... you can do better than this. Instead of offering tempting annual popcorn bucket deals or ticket deals, try showing us that you want us to be back at the movies by upgrading this theater to at least match your competitors! Regal is definitely winning the movie game in this neck of the NC woods. They will get my future business because they let me choose my seats and I can watch in comfort. read more

Walking in I have noticed that this theater was very clean! The guy that help us at the counter was very helpful and he did anything he could for us to save money and explained things to use if we didnt understand. Once we got our tickets and went in we sat in theater 1. The biggest theater, the big D. There was so many seats and the screen was huge. Audio was great and the qua6of the film was great. The seat leaned back alot and were very comfortable and they offered alot of space in each seat. Overall an excellent place to go and see a movie! read more

Nice concession area and staff always nice. Theater area smells a little funky though. One thing that bothered me was that once the movie was over, they wanted everyone to use the side exit instead of the main entrance. An employee said it was to keep the crowd low while exiting. There was hardly any crowd upfront and the area for exiting was clearly marked. My educated guess is that they don't want people to fill their drinks or their popcorn on the way out. The management also needs to realize there are people with handicaps that don't need to walk all the way around the building when they can use the main doors. read more

Movies nowadays are becoming very mid. However the movie theater here is pretty good, for an AMC. I watched the new Insidious: The Red Door movie. Turns out everyone had the same idea so the theatre was fully booked. Despite the full theatre everything was handled well by the staff in my opinion. The facilities were clean and everything was in order. Very nice! My only problem was when ordering our tickets the cashier just walked away mid checkout and started doing other things. I had to call him over to get my receipts and tickets and even then he continued to do other things. Slightly irritating, why not just finish the business we started then go and continue the other work you had to do? Also it's not like he was the only employee there, and there was nobody there besides a few other couples since we bought the tickets an hour in advance. Just puzzles me. Wasn't very professional on that employees part. The AMC as a whole though, I'm very pleased with. I do recommend this location. read more

I want to start off by saying I'd probably give 0 stars but the employees were very helpful and friendly so They deserved some recognition. With that being said-I'm sorry but this movie theater STINKS! The carpet was filthy and the entire room smelled like a bathroom located in someone's damp basement. Not to mention they had a humidifier of some kind humming near the screen. This theater is ghetto, period. Also, I always purchase my tickets online to avoid waiting in line but at this theater that doesn't seem to matter because regardless you have to stand in line at the concession stand to check in your ticket. Then if you order a drink you have to go stand in a different line to get it. There is a whole lot of waiting and standing in line at this theater so make sure you come early otherwise you could miss parts of the movie. I'll go to one of the nice theaters in Wilmington for any of the blockbusters because this place is probably a NIGHTMARE during popular movies. read more

First off this theatre just opened so things are to be expected to go wrong and be worked out. They have a "big d"movie theatre which is the 3D screen with a three story screen. This is supported by its 6.1 surround sound and comfy seating. Tickets aren't cheap at 13.99 for an adult before the evening prices. No military discounts and the movie prices for food and stuff are expensive as expected. Just saw the hobbit here at the Big D. This is how a movie should be seen! They close off the entire movie theater the second you get into your movie at 7pm to include the lobby and the bathroom right outside your screen the second you get in there. Laziest employees/ managers I've ever encountered. $70 for two tickets, a bucket of popcorn, and bad attitude from the employees. read more

Be warned it is very expensive. For our family of 3 with 1 popcorn and 1 drink cost is over $50. However the theater was clean and the staff was slow but nice. If we return it will have to be for something we really have to see in theaters otherwise we will wait for Redbox or On demand. read more

I was watching the lion king with my daughter and there were several people throughtout the movie with their cells out. Now I understand the theater cant control that and it shouldnt be a direct reflection but its hard to be generous when you spent 50.00 dollars to watch a movie that was ruined because of others. I much rather go to the older one near the mall not as spacious or as renovated but it has a homey ferl with house rules....you bring out your pphone during a movie and someone will put you in your place. read more

Went here to see a movie with my friend, and wow -- were we impressed! Everything was very new, very clean, and very nice. The movie we were seeing was in the "Big D" theater, which has a three story screen and leather rocking seats. Short of going to see an IMAX movie, it's the best viewing experience you can hope for. The employees here were SO much friendlier than at the other movie theater in town, too. As for prices -- I didn't personally find it expensive at all. It seems on par for a movie theater. I paid $18.00 for my ticket, a large drink, and some candy. That's a pretty good price, in my opinion. And considering how nice the theater is, it was well worth the money. I won't be going to the other movie theater here in town again. It will only be this one, from now on. read more

Great concessions and I like the ticket buying experience. You buy your tix at the concession stand so there's no standing outside in the elements. There's even a separate line for the Fandango crowd. First time I've actually seen one of these. Purchasing tickets is a bit odd, as their are two basically indiscernible lines and also you purchase tickets from the same counter as you order food. Just something I wasn't used to. When I do go to the movies here in Jacksonville I always go to the Big D Screen at Patriot 12. The chairs are pretty comfortable and the screen is not as big as an IMAX but way bigger than a normal screen. The kids that work at the theater are nice enough and get the job done but are usually playing around with each other. I do enjoy this theater and you will to. read more

Kind of curious to what is going on at this theater. It looks very nice from the outside and should be nice however, it is disgustingly dirty ! What the heck !! Why are the seats damp, floors sticky and it is downright smelly. I could not get comfortable and had to leave my movie early...it was just too gross for me. I'm in Jacksonville...no idea why it says San Fran lol Also the wine ...it was bad bad bad...this has to be said. They charge $10 for a tiny cup of red wine. Haven't been to the movies in a long time. I know the theaters have had issues filling seats over the years so rather than catering to customers, they've modified the business model to suit themselves. Everyone is forced to the concession stand just to get in. Even if you have pre-purchased tickets you must stand in line behind every indecisive customer ordering popcorn, sodas and candy. If you order a soda, they give you a cup and then have to go fill your own drink in another annoying line behind indecisive customers playin with the million drink option soda fountain, further delaying your experience. Honestly wouldn't recommend this movie theater. No mater how nice the screens are or comfortable the seats are, getting in just isn't worth iT. Call me impatient, my time is valuable, I'm sure yours is too. read more

Just watched Wonder Woman in the big D. Awesome the seats shake when a lot action is happening. Very clean theatre and restrooms. Invest in the Stubbs program and popcorn bucket if you go to movies a lot. Looking forward to more Superheroes movies this year. read more
