Iv tried to call for show times or ask a question about a promo. They never answer the phones. Goes straight to amc pre recored message. The popcorn is terrible. the popcorn is pre popped and stored in very large garbage bags and dumped in to the machines to be warmed up under the heat lamp and if you ask for butter its only on the top. Because its where the soda machines are. They dont make much of any "new fresh" popcorn if any. Theater seats are ok. If theres any cool promos for buckets or cups they are always sold out. In the winter bring a parka. Its not heated very well. read more

The theatre and help no complaints, my only one is cost, now they charge almost $3.00 (3%) if you use a debit card. It's not their fault, it's the credit card companies, but in the long run could effect their customers and since Covid it's hard getting customers back out to begin with. read more

This is the closest AMC near New Bern and it's solid. I will say that it's a pretty basic theater with decent seating. It doesn't have recliners but the seating they offer does get the job done. The concession area and customer service is good as well. Our visits here normally come due to us not wanting to drive to Greenville or Jacksonville to see a movie at an AMC theater. Overall the pricing here definitely makes it's a worthwhile trip. read more

Small theater, nice staff, inexpensive for a ticket. The problems start to arise when you want to buy a drink a popcorn. A small popcorn and small soda is $15???. The Coke flavors were not even working. It felt like NYC pricing. Each theater is pretty small and no bells and whistles here. They really take advantage of being the only thing to do in town. Prices for admission are more than any of the theaters in the surrounding towns. To add insult to injury this theater is in a military town and does not over any military discount. You better eat before you come to the theater. The snack prices are outrageous. You are going to spend way more than your tickets. There is not effort to keep this place clean either. The whole place smells and is very dirty. The seats in the theater are so ticket and close together. Not to mention they did not stagger the seats so you pray no one will sit in front of you. The worst thing about going to this theater is the rude gentleman taking your ticket stubs. He may be the owner or manager by the way he carries himself. He has zero customer service skills. He is rude and acts like he is a drill instructor running this place. He walks up and down the aisles at least twice during the movies to rudely interrupt paying customer who are trying to enjoy their movie by telling them to get their feet of the seats on front of them. Yes... people shouldn't be putting their feet on the seats, however, the customer is ways right. He interrupts the person with their feet on the seat and the other paying customers sitting nearby. Very very rude individual. He is the main reason my family hates going to this theater. Do not go here. Go to the Bruin Theater or Bear Town Theater in New Bern, NC. Dumb movie theatre you can literally hear the other movies playing ... The whole theater smells like mold. I refuse to go because of it. Very expensive concessions. Their are no matinees during the week.

3 stars relative to what other theaters are available in the area (little to none). Staff is very friendly from the ticket booth, to the concessions, to the clean-up crew. Caught Divergent on it's opening day at 9:45pm and it wasn't too packed. We showed up by 9:15, but there wasn't really a line for seats. It's also nice that you can pre-order tickets for this theater on Fandango. Concessions are expensive, like any other movie theater. $4 for a box of Reese's Pieces. It's not a stadium seating theater--those are tough to come by in small towns--but still not too rinky dink. The floor was sticky where I sat, probably since there were in a rush to clean up after the previous movie to get all the next people in. Not a huge problem, just moved seats because it wasn't a packed house. Lots of previews, which I loved. Also a few behind-the -scenes clips to watch before the previews even begin so you're not just sitting there in a dim theater. Will probably come back here next time I'm catching a movie in town. read more

Very disappointed in this local theater...No AC, no ICE in drink machines, only one drink machine was even working....could hear the movie next doors soundtrack while the movie we were trying to watch was on. Drinks were barely cold by time the movie started.. movie time was 6:45.. actually didn't start till 7:15. This theater has gone up way too high on their prices they don't offer a decent matinee price anymore by the time you pay for two tickets and popcorn and drinks you can wait for the DVD for a lot cheaper and own the movie. Giving this theater a "One Star" is me being nice. The best thing for the owner to do is stop mooching off the military to keep paying top dollar for the only theater within 25 miles. Have some self respect, tear this place down, and put in a Dave & Busters. Location - It is in a shopping center on the edge of town. Not too bad of a neighborhood. Price- $8 a ticket with no discounts! This is way over priced given the condition of the theater. Quality - The worst theater I have ever been too. It is not maintained well, I watched an entire movie with the sound messed up, when I walked out and asked for a refund (half way through the movie) they refused and said "it will work in a second"- it never did, floor seating so good luck seeing over those big heads. The Down n Dirty - Save your money and go play putt-putt golf or something. If taking a girl to a movie on the first date isn't already bad this will for sure secure your spot in the singles bracket for the next time. Greenville has a really nice theater and it is worth the hour drive. The country road there is a good, relaxing drive too. I hope this helped! read more

Disguisting place!!!! As soon as you walk into the theater, the whole place had a horrible odor. It smelled like smoke or BO. The ticket price was ridiculously high for a piece of junk theater. They had the latest movies showing, but just the atmosphere turned me away and never return. read more

This little theater is nice. After the remodel from Hurricane Irene in Aug 2011 the place is nice, new and clean. The staff is always friendly and there usually isn't a long ticket line. I like that we can pre-order our tickets on Fandango too. They have several movie deals during the week and even offer a summer series just for kids. read more

Poor selection of movies. There is always a slew of horrible movies playing and nothing of substance, which seems to be the norm in this area. The theater is not arranged well, seats are not staggered, and there is not enough differentiation in the slope of the floor to make a difference. Watched Lone Survivor last night. First time in this theater since remodel. Comfortable seats but they are not staggered so the person's head in front of you is in your view. I guess we can always sit listing to left or right. Or I could just sit up tall in the seat and block the view of at least two rows behind me. Decided before movie started I needed a diet coke. A buddy of mine says get me a Sprite. I ordered two small drinks and was shocked at the price an unbelievable $10.10!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely terrible experience. I will never be going back. The guy selling tickets who I believe was he owner was incredibly rude and disrespectful. My boyfriend asked him a question about the showtimes and he just pointed to the sign and said "read that it's right there" instead of just answering the question. The prices are also outrageous. Soundproofing horrid - Can easily hear movies in other theaters. Projection system did not work properly when we were there: movie just shut off. No staggered seating or rise in the floor. If you want to experience what going to the movies was like in the 1940's, then you may find this place quaint. Otherwise, even the promised renovations cannot remake this old hag. read more

I have to say, the theater itself is fine. They just refurbished it due to damage from a hurricane. But they refuse to play movies that are people want to see when they are first released. We have had to drive over an hour just to see movies such as "Magic Mike" and "Pitch Perfect". I find it completely ridiculous that we have to do this. Went to see X-Men Friday night. Place was packed. 940 movie start time. Sat through nearly all of the advertisements and previews of coming features (normal). Near end of previews sign comes up telling everyone to put on their 3D glasses (this is a 2D showing). People start yelling, theater stops previews - after about a minute it starts up again - FROM THE BEGINNING! It is now 1020 and we are STILL watching previews! Theater is hot as HELL! we finally got out of theater after 1240 am. Unfortunately, this is the only dump of a theater in the area, so we have to suffer through it all - BUT I DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT!!!!!! read more

So, admittedly the theater is a P.O.S, but after living here for four years, and the only ones close by are anything but close, it's the only place to go to see movies and movie premieres. I can live with the smell, and the nasty tile, and the renovation done after Irene improved the place slightly, but I'm here to review the nasty service I received today. All of the people who work behind the ticket booth and snack bar, etc., have always treated customers with at least a bit of respect, as much as one could fathom during a busy movie premiere. I called the theatre to ask a question about the Hunger Games premiere showing this weekend. I very politely asked the man I was speaking to about what time it was showing. My ticket clearly stated "12:01 AM Thursday." Alright, here's a bit of a lesson. Anything after 12:00:01 becomes the next day. So by arriving at the theater on Wednesday at, say, 11:50, I would be there at 12:01 on Thursday morning. I very kindly tried to explain this to the "gentlemen" on the other line. I'm a patient woman and I understand people get confused. Many of my friends misunderstood the situation, because everywhere else said the movie started showing on Friday. So, in essence, the ticket should have read "12:01 AM Friday morning." Well anyways, I spoke with a man who very brutally degraded me and treated me like a child. He kept repeating "It's a Thursday premiere" which makes no sense, because that implies Thursday in the morning, according to the cinema website, fandango, and now, my ticket. The only site that said "Thursday night, Friday morning" was Fandango, which isn't necessarily affiliated with the theater. The rude person I spoke to tried to explain to me that the movie starts on Friday morning. Which doesn't make sense, again, according to my ticket. He continued to treat me as if I were a child by first, speaking verrrry slowly, which is unnecessary, and then he attempted to, again, explain that by saying it's a Thursday premiere, it starts on Thursday night. But Thursday would mean any time starting from 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM, he denied this as if that was physically impossible. He didn't show any understanding or apology for the mistake/misunderstanding and sounded like he had something stuck up his you-know-what for far-too-long. To finalize the fact that I was treated with more disrespect than I have ever received from any staff at the theater, the man hung up, without asking if I had any further questions, which I did, or asking if he had helped me, which he did, technically, but in a very unprofessional manner. I understand that we live in a small town, and I have no other theater to go to, especially with gas prices as high as they are, but if I receive service like this again, I absolutely refuse to go back. I request immediate action and plan on speaking with the manager tomorrow night before the premiere which is, at 12:01 on Friday morning. EDIT: I spoke to the "District Manager" via e-mail, and he says he has everything totally under control and spoke with some other managers that work at the theatre, and the incident will not happen again. However, to be honest, I'm tempted to call again and ask the same question to the man I originally spoke to to see if he's changed any since last Thursday. Oh well. read more

I took my family to this movie theater and we were immediately greeted with an attitude and rude employees. The prices are ridiculous. The seats were comfortable and the theater was clean. The quality of the movie was good too. I can't deal with rudeness though. read more
