I am only giving one star because that is the lowest I can give if I was able to give a negative rating I would do so. Biggest scam company ever. They gave me a quote of $415 with four hours of move time. After the first initial pick up the drivers disappeared for hour and a half and would not answer any of my calls or text messages. After getting to the second location to load the van with my home goods they did so. Among arriving to the destination I was informed I had to pay them $2000 cash or they will hold all my personal belongings. I complained and they dropped it to $1200. Keep in mind that is still three times as much as what they quoted me. I was forced to call family members on a Saturday afternoon to withdraw money from numerous accounts to pay them to release my home goods. Very unprofessional and horrible work ethics even when speaking to you on the phone to try to resolve an issue. read more

Atlantic Moving Service - Movers Near Me - Hallandale Beach, Florida

Quoted $587 for 5 hours of moving costs. Once the truck was filled, they demanded additional $800 for services I did not approve. First of all, after 3 confirmation phone calls that the job started at 8 am, the movers did not show until 11:30 a.m. Secondly, they demanded the $587 quoted price be paid to them in CASH before they'd even begin working. While I ran to the ATM to get the money, they re-taped all of my boxes and wrapped my couch and beds and proceeded to charge me for it. Even though they had not sought out authorization to do so. They tacked on an additional $275 because my couch was considered by them to be a "bulky item." The couch is a regular sized couch which is probably smaller than most couches. They were also aware that I had a couch when they quoted me my estimate. So, that "bulky" item fee should have been tacked on up front, if it's a regular thing to consider a normal couch "bulky." When he had me sign the contract, he covered part of it by folding it in half. I proceeded to give them the additional $800 they were now charging me for tape and bubble wrap, (which I had not approved). They insisted I pay that in CASH or they would leave the premises with all of my belongings in their truck! I paid them the money because I was afraid of them driving off. Complete and total threats and extortion. Once we left, they went the wrong way. The truck then took off with my money and my things. If I hadn't caught up to it and followed it, I'm not sure they would have ever delivered. The man I dealt with was called Eddie. Although, I am not sure that is his real name, to be honest. He threw a temper tantrum in my house, in front of my 6 year old and elderly parents, because we merely asked him why the additional charges weren't discussed and disclosed PRIOR to them taking it upon themselves to use all of the extra packing material. This day was one of the worst days of my life. And this company not only bait and switched on me by estimating $587, but charging me $1387 in the end; but they threatened me and got the money by pure extortion. This company needs to be investigated and shut down. I am seeking that this company refund me for use of packing material that was put on my boxes and furniture PRIOR to any approval (the tape and the mattress covers) AND a refund for the bulky item fee, since they were aware of the couch when they quoted me the estimate. I also want a refund for the steps charge (for every seven steps they charged $75), since THAT should have been part of the estimate, considering they were made fully aware that the move was to be delivered to a second floor. I am, in total, requesting $800 back. They STOLE this money from me under complete duress and extortion. I, like some of the others here would have given this company a negative rating if it were possible. Where do I start? I won't go too deep into it, but just know that their policy to cancel within 72 hours is a total scam. I spoke to a salesman and his manager, and throughout our conversation I was assured that I have the option to cancel as long as it's within 72 hours from the time I paid the deposit ($789). I had an emergency and tried to cancel - not even 24 hours had gone by since I paid the deposit - but they told me that it was void because my booking happened with fourteen days of when I needed the job done (keep in mind, I never gave them an actual moving date). In other words, they have a technicality built into the contract, in which after you sign, they can keep the deposit even if you try to cancel. Its a total scam and they're very sloppy about how they handle it. This company made me feel like I was in a third world country. I couldn't get over how a company like that is allowed to operate. Their business model should be the textbook example of what unethical looks like. Horrible company!! Please do not give these people any busines. read more

Atlantic Moving Service is THE WORST, most currupt moving company in business. I have no idea why the state of Florida has not removed their liscense after the enormous amount of times they have robbed their customers. I hired them after reading the several reviews I later found out they had written themselves. They quoted me $1,400 on a five mile move. After over packing and taping all of my belongs which took 12 hours, they showed up at our new residence requesting $8.200 IN CASH on top of the original $1,400 quote they gave us. We also had to give them $1,100 in cash on top of the ludicrous amount of money they were requesting. If we did not pay them cash in full, they told us they would auction off all our belongings. This was 9:00pm on a Sunday. Not one ATM would ever let someone withdrawl that amount of money. Only when the cops came did they decide to take credit cards. We were forced to pay this outrageous amount, or we would have lost all of our belongings. These people are complete thieves. They are total scammers of the worst kind. They pray on older people who they believe have money. These people want both your stuff and your money. DO NOT HIRE ATLANTIC MOVING SERVICE. they came out of Miami to Sarasota and claimed to be local. If you've experienced this scam by Atlantic Moving Service, PLEASE report to District Attorney's office. They must be stopped. They are a harmful business and need their moving license revoked immediately. Only customers have the power to remove these people from business. read more

Worst moving experience ever. Don't use these guys. They sandbag the job. Charged me $75 per hour. Movers made every excuse to try to get more money. I had to reassemble my king size bed bed. They said they needed $75 more to reassemble the the bed. I also had to cut all the tape from the material they used to wrap my TV (4),all the tape from the sofa,loveseat, bed,end tables. Glad I got rid of this crew. Don't be fooled by their smiles and $75 hour, 3 hour minimum. I moved from an apartment on the 1st floor to an apartment on the first floor. Only my wife and I two rooms of furniture and dining table, less than 2 miles away. I paid in cash. Just, don't be deceived. read more

DBA as both Atlantic Moving and PrimertimemoversLLC, I sadly contracted with them to move my belongings 150 miles. THIS IS NOT A FAKE REVIEW - DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE. I was quoted one price and went over everything over and over again and I was promised that it would not be more. I was told 200 at the pick point and the balance at the drop-off. Upon pickup (on a day they were even supposed to come) they demanded the price in full. It was paid. Then I got a call at the receiving end that they would call me with a final price. I told them they were paid in full. He told me no, 'HE HAS CONTRACT." I never signed a contract, I accepted their estimate as a contract where I was lied to after telling them over and over that I didn't want hidden fees. That fell on death ears and their driver Edward called me back with a figure for the move at more than 4 times what they quoted and promised. They never delivered my good and made me sweat it out to where they extorted a reduced price but still more than double what was quote. I agree with another poster here, they give you a quote that gets them in the door and then they hold your things hostage. I had the police at my home when they delivered, and they left one item off the truck. That one item had things in the drawers which I want back. They told me they were bringing it that night or the next day. The next day never came. I have had the police involved and the representative claims he doesn't work for the company anymore and for me to take it up with the company. Edward the Represenative who took the money at both ends is a flat out LIAR. In August he fraudulently changed a 75 dollar check that had a stop payment on and he changed the month from a 5 to an 8 and tried to cash in on $675.00 putting a six (6) in front of everything. The company doesn't answer the phone, return phone calls or emails so basically they have STOLEN my property. STAY FAR AWAY! THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. I paid deposit of hundred dollars to atlantic moving service for movers. for march 1st at 8 am. they did not show . I call Paul the moving Coordinator at 10 am. Paul said they had a flat tire that the truck was towed. I never received a call that they were going to be late,or that anything had happened to truck.. Paul says truck would be here between 12 pm to 2 pm..no truck at 2 pm. I call Paul.He says that they couldn't find tires to fit truck. He says will send new truck in 2 hours..that would have been 5 pm..5 pm no truck. I call Paul again,he says he will find out where truck is and call me back.HE DID NOT CALL BACK.Never was I called at any time and told truck was broken or going to be late.Never did Paul call me and tell me where truck was ,or what was going on. I had to call him back each time. His response at 6 pm was he could not get ahold of truck drivers,but he was sure they were in the area. 6 pm I call paul several times .I get his voice mail.no truck..I left several messages for him,and Michael Wright..At 8 pm Paul calls me blames problem on truck drivers that he doesn't know what they are doing.Says they will be there at 9 pm. He says if I don't let them move me then,that I will have to wait till saturday..I sent him message,that 9.00 at night was not going to work as it would disturb new tenants when I moved in at 10 pm.also I did not believe him..I was never moved by this company. My sons took off work to help me,then movers did not show up.I had food out of fridge packed that is spoilt now. I was to be out of my cottage march 1st .I will have to pay the extra day I stayed here. Not to mention the stress. .What a rip off and to put me through this crap.
