Got a call back within 10 minutes of contacting the answering service, and they sent Dan over within an hour. Dan conscientiously cleared out the area and laid down a dropcloth to help contain the mess, opened up the wall, quickly replaced the piece of pipe and soldered it in place. He also kindly answered some questions I'd had around which valves do what around our hot water heater and boiler. Everything was done in about half an hour and he swept up and even put our door mat back in place before finishing up. They take check or cash, no credit card. I would've liked a bit more of a breakdown to understand how much extra it was for the weekend call, but the charge generally seemed like it could've been a lot worse.
