This review is for their online home inspector course. Much of the material is chapter excerpts from the book Principles of Home Inspection: Systems and Standards. Athough the course ovreral seems to be good, I wish they had had someone doing double-checking before things went live.
Course materials appear to have been last updated in 2016, and, although most is still relevant, parts such as online marketing techniques are outdated. The main office seems to be a small suite in Ponte Vedra, Florida with contracted people in various other states. When overwhelmed, support is slow, but Stephani is very friendly. First time I had an issue with uploading course work, it took three attempts before getting a response, then when there was another issue with the website, it took two attempts to get through because they were overwhelmed. They don't seem to use their ticket support system effectively and chat does not seem to be monitored. I have had to leave a message any time I call, since they don't answer their phones.
My biggest frustration is with the quiz and practice test questions. There are a significant number of poorly written questions, spelling mistakes, and test writing errors. Obvious mistakes with how some questions are written ended up requiring more time to pass exams. My state has now ended virtual inspection walk-throughs, required for licensing, so now there is a queue with no estimated date for when I will actually get to finish the required hours even though that is supposed to be included in the course fees. read more
