This school has no core values. I had 3 semesters to go to finish. During Pharmacology I was told by instructor West she "didn't have time to review my exam with me one on one". I dropped Pharmacology and was never reimbursed. I'm still disputing this with AES. I since took a full time job at HCA as phlebotomist. I see my classmates still struggling and failing. Now I hear Fortis tried to make them sign a "non-disclosure" about the school. What a joke. Fortis lost the contract HCA Orange Park and now forcing students to travel ridiculous lengths for clinicals. I speak to nursing students daily that attend other colleges. Fortis teaches the curriculum out of order. Example: scheduling Health Assessment before Fundamentals. Why are we learning how to hear lung sounds in Health Assessment before learning how to use a stethoscope in Fundamentals. Why are you teaching what drugs do in Pharmacology before learning the disease process in Med Surg? These classes should be taught in sync. The HESI entrance exam designed so everyone gets accepted. But has no science questions which is why Fortis includes frequent HESI exams as part of the curriculum. Fortis has to show every student passed the HESI before graduation. Meh. Hindsight is 20/20. If I could I would choose a different school for LPN I would. I believe since the program is new there are a lot of kinks with it. It's a small school so it's a struggle to get time to practice as an LPN. They have more RN students. I'll write more once I graduate- if I graduate. The school hasn't graduated any LPNs yet since the program is so new. read more

Went on a tour here when hubby was considering becoming a surgical tech. We had an appointment and the person we met with was right on time. We didn't have to wait at all. She was quite nice and wasn't pushy at all. She was able to answer most of our questions, but for some, she had to bring another person into her office. The classrooms are ok, but I have to say Concorde's are nicer and much more up-to-date. The fees here are also a lot higher when compared with Concorde. Ultimately, hubby decided to go back to UNF and finish his Bachelor's Degree and being his Master's Degree. However, if he would have went down the surgical tech path, he would have chosen Concorde over Fortis. read more

It was a hard year and a half for sure but I'm happy to say that I'm now an RN working at a major hospital in Jacksonville. I can say that everything I learned prepared me for a tough but rewarding job. I will never forget Professor Dossous. she was amazing. Mr Jativa was the best helping me and my class prepare for the NCLEX. I passed on my first time testing. Some students complain when they fail courses and end up dropping or repeating them and start blaming the Dean and everyone for their failure. in reality they didn't put enough time to study miss clinicals and provide bs doctor's note. I've seen that. the Dean is tough yes but she helped when I was struggling with a course and supported me till the end. Go to Fortis and you'll be happy you did. I am a recent graduate of Fortis Orange Park and had a wonderful experience. The faculty from the Dean of Nursing to each of the Professors teaching classes are truly invested in your success. Even after graduating their career services helped me tweak my resume and provided insight and leads for jobs. This is a very fast paced program and not for the faint of heart. You are condensing 16 weeks of education into 12 weeks so it is not to be taken lightly, however if you are motivated and willing to do your part you can and will be successful. They are there to help you every step of the way. I am beyond grateful for the education, care, and support that this wonderful team at Fortis OP provided and I hope you consider them for a quality education. Throw the whole school away. Cost way to much, the Dean tells you from the start. I finished school, this is in you. Will gas light you when you tell them you have to take off because of work or deal with your actual life. She doesn't care. You need a 78% to pass. I actually started a new school and I've passed basics and pharmacology no problem. Was it hard yeah but I did it. Fortis just sucks. Oh if your into cliques and bullies this is the school for you. People got bullied everyday and the when told to the dean she dis nothing. The only people that care are Dr. Aj and Mrs. Eve. My advisor got fired, no one told me, so I'm looking for her and she was gone. So guess who I had to go talk to....yep the Dean. She is your financial aide advisor, your academic advisor, the tutor, and not to mention the dean!!! So what are the other people here for again? Oh let's not forget the classrooms are hot as hell and they fix that by providing a small fan for the front of the room pointed up to the ceiling or opening the door. Why am I paying 38,000 dollars to be uncomfortable? Riddle me this! Yeah it's a no for me, it's a no for the shared parking lot, its a no for the short breaks, it's a no for me.
