I made it through my class, Nick was my teacher and I learned so much! Much more than my days of throwing pottery years ago. About halfway through my class I opted to join as a member of the studio. As a member, I have access to the studio to throw on one of their many wheels or use their tables for either handbuilding or for glazing. Membership also includes use of their tools and they have a huge assortment of glazes available for members to use. They fire all pieces in house too! I have made 60 pieces of pottery to date! With over 40 pieces completely finished. The staff here is amazing and they have so much knowledge between all of them, plus the other members offer invaluable lessons too, not to mention inspiration! Zoe has been especially helpful and answers any of my random questions, and I have plenty! I adore all of the staff I have interacted with and look forward to more exploring in the new year! While I am a jump in with both feet kinda woman- they offer sip and spin workshops, date night workshops, one on one lessons and various extensive classes. If you want a fun night out with friends or your special someone, or you are looking to have your son or daughter learn a wonderful hobby, or you want to dive in like me- they have something for you. This is considered a community studio and it really does enhance our community! Get your art on and go play! Get MUDDY!

Meghan was our instructor. We began at the wedge table to show us how clay is prepared for the wheel. The classes were small and intimate. Of course bring your wine. Would I do it again, no. All in all It was a good time to feel like I was in the movies with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze during potter wheel scene. It is not hard and a good night out for a group or a couple. Thank you Jax Pottery for making us feel comfortable. We can not wait for the finish product.

We did their Sip and Spin class on a Friday night (April 21) and had so much fun! I think it was about $75/person and you bring your own beer/wine, if desired. They have amazing, experienced, patient teachers taking you step-by-step and walking around to provide assistance/guidance. I am NOT a creative or artsy person and second guess everything; I was really struggling and kept messing mine up, requiring new clay several times. One of the girls stayed with me for most of the class and was sooo kind and patient!! I was feeling like such an idiot compared to everyone else in the class, but she really helped me feel better about it and have fun with it instead of being embarrassed! Towards the end of the class you choose what color you want your final product to be, leave it with them to glaze, fire, etc (not 100% sure the whole process) and wait for them to contact you for pick up. We got a text less than three weeks later on May 10 letting us know our finished projects were ready! We don't live near Murray Hill or spend a lot of time out there and kept forgetting to make our way out there. I called to make sure they were still there, she said they hold them up front for 2 or 3 months (can't remember exactly) after the class; we finally picked them up June 14, easy peasy! We had such a great time! Definitely plan on going back with family or friends! If we lived closer, we'd have been back already and probably even done one of their weekly classes! Small Update: I was just moving one of the pieces to a different location in our home and happened to look at the bottom - I saw where they carve in your name and the date which, I think, is a really nice touch!

Went to a spin and sip night for my birthday! It was loads of fun. We want to sign up for one of their 4 week classes. I've been waiting for a place like this to open in Jacksonville so I'm super excited this place is here! What a fun experience and the teacher was great. Did small bits of steps at a time, he helped to make sure you were doing okay and helped to get you caught up if you needed it. Overall great experience.

My friends and i recently attended the Sip + Pottery class they offer and loved it. i was nervous because i had no prior experience before attending but the teacher in my saturday class was so helpful. Tools, clay and aprons are provided in the class, all you have to do is BYOB. during the class you're provided 3 pieces of clay just in case you mess or want to create more pieces. Afterwards, they trim, glaze and fire your items for you. 10/10 recommend (: perfect for date nights or as a intro into pottery.

For my 25th bday, I had a sip n' spin at Jacksonville Pottery Studio (byob) - JAMS, LIBATIONS, & NEW SKILLLS

Where do I begin to write this review for Burnt Glassworks? Would it be the variety of items you…read morecan make? Or would it be the phenomenal customer support from Zach and Andy? Or would it be the multiple collections of colors you can select from? Or finally would it be for the items you can buy in their mini showroom? This is the first time I had ever done something like this at the suggestion of my cousin who had also never done it before after reading reviews. She said this is what we're doing. I have to say this was probably one of the funnest events I have done in years! Being able to create something of beauty and not having talent doesn't matter because of the instructions received from Andy. Speaking of Andy, I have to say he is a phenomenal teacher! He explains things in great detail yet in such a way that he is not talking over you or above you but rather with you. He explains by example and by words. He was very patient through the process understanding had never done something like this, and allowed me to express creativity along the way. When it came to the end, describing what the opening of the boss would look like he gave me various options. I cannot commend Andy enough for his outstanding skill at working with others! Now let's talk about Zach who worked the desk and also assisted Andy. He greeted us with a smile, was very friendly and explained to us what the process was going to be. With a fantastic sense of humor and a willingness to be customer centered Zach truly made a difference today as he was the first one we worked with and the last one. From beginning to end my cousin and I had the most fantastic service! If you're looking for something fun to do, supporting a local artist, and building something with your hands, I cannot suggest coming to burnt glassworks enough !!!

I went to make a glass blow snowman. My friend chose it as has birthday activity. I've never done…read moreglass blowing before and I'm not good at any type of visual art. However, the staff here is amazing and they were so pleasant and helpful! Each person goes one at a time, for safety, and they talk you through each step of the peace as and are hand one with you through each step. It was so fun and my snowman looks amazing . You were able to pick any 2 colors from a great variety of colors and patterns - one for the body of the snowman and one for the hat. They even had already made examples so you could see some that were traditional (white snow body and red hat) and some that used different color pairs. The 4 of us were done within 45 minutes or so - each taking just over 10 minutes to make. They also have a showroom of already made items in display. I will definitely be back.

The studio set everything up for our chosen projects (soooo many choices!) prior to our arrival and we set up everything for the birthday girl's celebration! There was plenty of space for each of us to spread out and still be comfortable while creating our masterpieces. The staff was so patient & extremely helpful to those of us who aren't very 'crafty!' They ensured all of our creations turned out perfect (or perfectly imperfect/one of a kind!) I would highly recommend Board & Brush for any group activity, team building activity, or even couples date night! It would definitely make for a fun time and an original creation!

She was very knowledgeable and patient with us while we were all overwhelmed with the endless options. I love how customizable everything is, wow. And it's nice because if you start picking weird things/colors then your table assistant will let you know. We all had a blast and even my dad learned some new techniques to bring home to his wood working. We all love our projects and I'm definitely ready to go back! 10/10 would recommend!
