They have no follow up and you are just left in the dark. I understand they have a small staff but they are aware of that when they except the students and the money. My entire class ( that finished 2 months ago) is still waiting to hear something and we are all getting a different story. At this point I feel they are scamming people as well as the non profit organization that help these people to further their skills

There was one person taking a break in the lobby when I arrived and everyone else was busy taking tests. I sort of expected to have to wait with 10-15 people and go in at the same time but that was by far not the case which was nice. I was able to start my test about an hour early. When you go here, there's basically one room with about 30 people taking different tests around you. You're sitting in a little cubicle directly next to other people but separately by a little short fabric wall behind and to the sides of your computer. You can bring unwrapped cough drops in a plastic bag to help you if you start coughing and also a clear plastic bottle of water with no wrapper. They give you everything else for your test like a calculator, pen, and scratch paper. The chairs that you sit on are like rolling office chairs with decent fabric cushion which was comfortable. They have headphones there- the ones you might wear to a racetrack to block out noise. I tried those for the first ten minutes and couldn't get comfortable in them but you can also bring foam ear plugs which could help. It wasn't too loud to focus other than people coughing occasionally. They have lockers with numbered keychain locks for you to use during your test for free and I was able to fit my purse with snacks in it. When you take a break you cannot look at study material or a phone but can grab a snack and use the bathroom. They have two bathrooms right around the corner when you step out of the computer room. They were relatively clean. I was really nervous and anxious but getting there early and being checked in by very good employees made me feel less stressed.

This review is for their online home inspector course. Much of the material is chapter excerpts…read morefrom the book Principles of Home Inspection: Systems and Standards. Athough the course ovreral seems to be good, I wish they had had someone doing double-checking before things went live. Course materials appear to have been last updated in 2016, and, although most is still relevant, parts such as online marketing techniques are outdated. The main office seems to be a small suite in Ponte Vedra, Florida with contracted people in various other states. When overwhelmed, support is slow, but Stephani is very friendly. First time I had an issue with uploading course work, it took three attempts before getting a response, then when there was another issue with the website, it took two attempts to get through because they were overwhelmed. They don't seem to use their ticket support system effectively and chat does not seem to be monitored. I have had to leave a message any time I call, since they don't answer their phones. My biggest frustration is with the quiz and practice test questions. There are a significant number of poorly written questions, spelling mistakes, and test writing errors. Obvious mistakes with how some questions are written ended up requiring more time to pass exams. My state has now ended virtual inspection walk-throughs, required for licensing, so now there is a queue with no estimated date for when I will actually get to finish the required hours even though that is supposed to be included in the course fees.

My professor, Sarah Stuart, offered extra credit for sharing the school's work and thoughts about AI in our class, and with my great experience here, I thought Yelp may sway some people to take a second look at this school (and get me some bonus points). For her class, I watched a full episode of the college's podcast, "AI Goes to College," featuring author and educator Flower Darby. The schools focus on growth, the future, and conversations about AI, shows FSCJ is focused on the future, and helping students like myself prepare for its' challenges. She and Professor Stuart talked about in this video how online learning can quietly isolate students and how AI can either help, or hurt that. I think the biggest point, the "human advantage," is that technology should clear the mundane, busywork so teachers have more time for real connection with students- something that I especially felt connected to with my time at FSCJ; the teachers really care. For people considering colleges and their higher education, I think it's rare for a college to 1) produce content 2) think about its students and the effect new technology will shape the future of learning. This is an oddball review not of the school, but of the Early Voting available at this campus! I…read morewent yesterday- day 1 of early voting. Kudos to Duval for having live waiting times! We usually go to the Library- but the wait there was about an hour- so we opted for FSCJ- which was actually closer to home! 15 minutes from getting in line to getting back in the car! Socially distanced is the 2020 theme, everyone masked, we waited and moved up our spot in line every minute or so. Once inside- they swipe your ID and you are given a number. You move onto the next desk- pick up that number ballot and go find any available station. They are sanitizing in between voters- I watched a young man hustle from station to station as they were vacated. Onto the voting desk- I checked my ballot 3x to make sure every oval was fully filled in and every section voted on- making sure my vote counts! Once finished you head over to the machines that scan you ballot in, grab your sticker and head out. Easy! You may not be able to see the smiles behind the masks- but the poll workers were all cheerful and nice! Thanks to FSCJ for opening your doors to be a voting location!
