Great selection of athletic wear for women. I went here with my wife and did not see any men's clothing. Great colors and plenty of styles to choose from but, these clothes are on the pricier side. Came here for the Athleta Trade Up event, a collaboration with Treadup. The Oakbrook location was the only place in the Chicagoland area for this event. You bring in a pair of leggings and you receive one pair of elation leggings for free. Showed up at 8:15, doors opened at 9. The line was fairly long. They opened the doors a few minutes early and the line moved pretty quick. We were in around 9:15. There were at least 50 people ahead of us, probably more. The employees were outside, enthusiastic and answered everyone's questions. They handed out wristbands outside. Once inside you go directly to the legging distribution setup. They take your wristband and trade in, they ask for your size and then hand you your leggings in a bag. Very efficient! Their promos for the day were extra 40% of clearance/sale, 25% off leggings and 20% off everything (might just be for the event?). My daughter bought 2 shirts, a pair of leggings and a jacket and the total was $160 with tax! Amazing deals. Service was great and the store had lots of employees to help!! read more

If I could only shop at one store in Oak Brook Mall, Athleta would be a consideration (and happily) amongst 6 others, but that's it. For a person that loves OBM over any other mall in IL, that's a feather in the cap of Atlhelta. Their style is simple, yet high quality. Fit is excellent and style is fashionable without being too trendy. Take sweaters for instance. Unfortunately, there's no way to completely avoid a miserably cold & snowy Chicago winter without high-tailing out of the State going far southward or far, far westward. If that's not an option, and a cozy sweater is on your I need list, Athleta has some super warm ones that will not eye roll a frugal or a fashionistas budget. What's best, is that Athleta is concerned about fabric. When did cheap to produce acrylic and polyester become the de rigueur for sweater manufacturers? I think we all can cringe with an answer, but that doesn't mean we have to contend with the absence of wool, angora and cashmere because it's too costly. At Athleta, a $168 Lucca sweater made of a luxurious, toasty warm and soft wool cashmere blend - relaxed fit, billowy sleeves and sized right, is 1/2 off and comes in a multitude of colors. Leggings fit right and look new wash after wash. Fit, fashion, flair, fab and most importantly, quality. It doesn't hurt that sales people are helpful and friendly and will call for anything that's not in your size at the store. Love Athleta! read more

Man alive. This store was just beautiful, the product plentiful and displayed wonderfully, but my goodness the service was SO AWFUL! I had done some research online for Athleta and was looking for a simple black yoga pant. There were a LOT of options online and I figured why not pop into a store and try on the different styles? Enter: Oak Brook Athleta. I arrived around 10:02 knowing they opened at 10. The door was locked. I stood outside looking through the window. I saw two people working - 1 putting clothing back on shelves/racks and 1 walking around. Neither of them looked at me despite me pulling on the doors a couple times. They opened the doors around 10:05. The woman who helped me: 1 - walked away from me mid-sentence to approach someone else who was not a customer, 2 - informed me that the store offered free hemming, yet didn't mention they offer petites, 3 - was nowhere to be found when I was in the fitting room and had fit questions, and 4 - had trouble working the mobile device to place my order. I ended up using one of their iMacs to place the order myself, and there was a promotion going on for free 2-day shipping which I was able to take advantage of. The associate wasn't around so I placed my order without any assistance. All in all, it was fine, but man I should've just shopped at home! read more

My new Athleta compression pants are fantASStic. I feel like you could bounce a quarter off my booty and get a dollar back. If you'd told me even a year ago that I'd spend over $50 on a pair of workout pants, I'd have laughed in your face, but these babies are like BUTTa and I have no intention of going back to C9 clothing. The proof is in the pudding; there's no Jell-o Jigglers here! My TRX instructor started buying these pants late last year and wouldn't shut up about them. I can't blame her either. They are supposedly made with this magical fitness fabric that does a number of things including compress, fight stench, and simply be thick enough that nobody will know what color underwear I am or am not wearing no matter how low I go in a stretch. I had plans to check this place out eventually, but I was so tired on Monday that I forgot to pack a pair of pants for my workout and decided it was fate. I came in looking for the Icy Haze Be Free Knicker but it's a popular style and they were all out. However, they had plenty of other patterns to choose from. I ended up trying on the Maze Be Free Knicker in Shocking Pink, I think Splatter Be Free Knicker, and the Chain Be Free Knicker in Purple. I loved all of them and ended up buying the Shocking Pink and Splatter. The best part was that I got to size down in these pants, so I walked away wearing Large instead of Lardo. There were no guarantees that what I wanted would work, so I had also asked the salesperson to recommend a pair of pants for me that would be form fitting, would fit my round rear, wouldn't give me plumber's crack, and that wouldn't be translucent. She suggested a couple pairs of pants and was the one who recommended that I try sizing down. I loved all of the pants that she picked out but not all of them worked on me. However, the ones that did were phenomenal and I wanted to take twice as many items of clothing home than what I left with. I won't tell you exactly how much I spent, but I got a pair of the Be Free Knicker on sale, a pair of Be Free Knicker at regular price, a Gel Chaturanga Capri, and a full length running Tight on sale. And I was so worried that Wells Fargo would send my fiancé an unusual spending activity text that I called him as I left the store to tell him that he may or may not be able to buy the new TV he wants, because all's fair in love and shopping. The pants got their first test run that Monday evening. I wore them at Boot Camp and can say they are THE BEST workout pants I've ever owned. Worth every penny! I feel like a dime in them! read more

I thought the bad customer service was just me. After reading the reviews here, I was happy to see it wasn't personally directed at me. However, after spending $600 at this store and being made to feel like I'm a nuisance rather than a paying customer, I felt the urge to leave a review as well. I went in to this particular store before and had similar experiences. However, this past week was it for me. I walked into the store where there were two salespeople. Neither looked up to greet me. Neither even acknowledged me. I continued to walk about the store and proceeded to pick up SEVERAL items...none that were cheap. I wasn't asked to start a changing room. I wasn't asked if I needed help. I eventually had to walk up to an associate and ask if I could get a changing room. She looked at me like I had three heads and brushed her arm in the direction toward the changing rooms and said I could pick any one I wanted...like I was stupid for even asking. I wish I would have walked out then and there, but I LOVE the clothes at Athleta. I was weak. Once I put them on...I had to have them. I just hated the fact that I had to feel so darn bad when I left the store. I was mad for the way I was treated. I was mad for spending $600. I literally just paid to feel like s***. This retail store probably has the worse customer service ever! I refuse to visit this location at Oak Brook mall. I've given this location several chances, but the employees here are probably the worse I've ever experienced in retail. I think they need to be retrained on how to treat customers. Or they need to hire more friendly females! It's really not that difficult to be nice. It's like they purposely have rude ladies working there. Bought a pair of leggings about 1 year ago that quickly became my favorite, and noticed a hole recently after many wears. Brought them in and was able to exchange for a new pair (the same pair)! I love your new catalog so much, it made me want to consider trying the brand again. I called the store to inquire about updating or utilizing my fit pro status. I shop for "work clothes" at two other retailers for the last 10 years and have tried Athleta twice of which both times I did not like the fit of feel of the products I purchased. Since purchasing clothes for work require a custom fit and dress for success must, I like to make purchases from a brand that has great customer service, knows their product line 100% and can alter the clothing when it needs adjustment. When the guest expertise is less than stellar and the technical fit does not work, I can't make the investment with Athleta. Unfortunately, when I called today I couldn't get past the rude, uninformed person on the other end of the phone. I'm sorry if inquiring about how to purchase in a store or online would create such a upheaval, but I felt like she need to rush me off the phone to catch a train or something. If the store was busy with live customers and she needed to place me on hold I would of been happy to wait, but she made me feel as though I was ignorant for calling. Really hard to even place that order online now and walking into a store to be greeted by the worst customer service sales clerk is NOT going to happen. I don't often review, which is terrible, as I use reviews for decision making constantly. But the service I received at this Athleta location warrants a special acknowledgement. My understanding is that this location is under new management which may explain the difference in the reviews. I also had a unique experience which could also explain it. Regardless...my experience was amazing. Jessie is a new manager that they brought it from another very high end retail chain and her experience shows. My husband reached out to several Athletas in the area to propose a birthday experience for me, a large dollar amount gift card and private shopping hour. Jessie was the only one willing to engage in this very romantic and thoughtful gift. She communicated frequently with my husband, increased the time to 2 hours, offered to bring in personalized coffee and breakfast, suggested I bring a friend, and was available to offer personalized hands-on assistance as my friend and I raided the store. She even helped to plan a date that allowed access to a brand new season line. Although the circumstances of my experience were unique, I also watched the way she interacted with her staff and other customers once the store opened formally and her sense of the customer experience did not alter. I urge you to give this store another try if you had a less than stellar experience and may change my preferred shopping location (convenienced based) to Oakbrook for good. I try to avoid shopping at this location because of the way I am made to feel when walking in the store every time. One of the workers (who is the same person I encounter each time), possibly a manager, doesn't say hello, makes you feel uncomfortable when shopping and has the worst customer service when paying for your items. I have no idea why I even bought something from this location, but I will not be going there in the near future. read more

I was in town visiting family and stopped by this store to try on some skorts I was looking at online. The service was horrible!! I was NOT greeted when I walked in the store, nor was I asked if I needed any helped looking for anything. Went to the dressing room, again no assistance. The store was not crowded and there were plenty of associates who were evidently more interested in chatting among themselves instead of helping anyone. I considered purchasing a skort after trying on 3, but put it back and walked out. Nothing like the folks who work at the store back home. I have been a loyal customer of Athleta for several years. I love their clothing. Unfortunately, their competitors will now receive my business. Waiting 3 weeks for an in stock item to be shipped is inexcusable. When I contacted customer service, no reply and finally was told it would be shipped to me in another week. I checked stock in my items ordered and they remain in stock so I don't know what the issue is!! They certainly wasted know time billing me and collecting payment for good not delivered. One would think the customer service would try and help expedite the order for their customers. But no!!! Poor, poor business relations. Very sad but I'll take my money to Lululemon, Lucy and Nordstrom where they know how to treat their loyal customers. read more
