This children's store in Hinsdale has a lot of stuff. They have clothing for children up to at…read moreleast age five or six. They carry everyday wear, pajamas, and special occasion clothing. They had some cute children's bunting as we get closer to the winter months. They were having an "indoor sidewalk sale", with some of their items being up to 75% off--this included clothes, toys, books, and other items and knickknacks. They had some books and stuffed animals that complement the books, like the Little Blue Truck and Corduroy. I bought a cute little dress for the holidays for my daughter, as well as a lovely sweater for the upcoming season. Their children's stuff isn't cheap, but it's not unreasonable for an independent children's store. I was really thankful that I found a place that sells clothing for children--in this case, holiday wear in particular--that is machine washable, because oftentimes children's clothing is marked as dry clean only (whyyyy). There is street parking in this area which can be limited, but I think there's also a Metra stop half a block away from the store.

You'll find lots of clothes, blankets, and books, as well as a couple wagons, strollers, and car seats. The owner is a midwife as well so you might avail yourself of services, too. I bought a couple of onesies that are magnetized. I keep hearing "no snaps!!" (but like EVERY PIECE of baby clothing has snaps...), so these were intriguing. They have a magnets along the flap as the closure mechanism so I bought a couple in the 6-9 month and above size to try them out. I have high hopes!

I stumbled on the cutest children's boutique in Oak Park. Upstairs features smaller sizes (I saw…read moresizes up to 8, but mostly toddler sizes). Downstairs is "the vault", which features sizes up to 14/16 with sales up to 40% (maybe more depending on the time of the year). The vault is sectioned by sizes. At the bottom of the stairs is a clearance size with the discount percentage for the entire room. I visited in early October 2024 and there were many discounted spring/summer styles, with a few sweaters and sweatpants options. There's a couch in the middle of the floor to take a break or for your children so you can shop uninterrupted. The fitting room is upstairs toward the back of the store. Enjoy cute trinkets near the check-out register, plus the cutest wrapping paper that can be purchased. Sarah, the buyer and manager I believe, was so sweet and helped me hide some gifts from my daughter after she identified things she wanted. It's woman-owned, minority-owned and has a woman's boutique right next door, 16 suitcases.

Toddler sizes... almost nothing. Not worth my time to look at one table of toddler size clothing. The nail in the coffin was my stop this afternoon. I thought I would stop here first, head to Kohl's and/or Carter's if I can't find anything here (since these stores are in the same strip mall). I was looking for some toddler pants BTW. I found a couple, good quality pants for my daughter. However, the signs baiting me in the store said 50-60% off winter clearance. Not one thing I saw in the store had these prices. I saw signs for 25% off only. Ok, there might be something if you reeeeeally look for it, but especially nothing in the toddler sizes. Disappointing. I wish that was the worst. But unfortunately this store needs to train their employees better. I was incredibly disheartened to hear a male worker and a female worker speak quite badly about a woman customer they had earlier that day. The woman apparently bought some baby clothes here for her daughter's baby doll. The employees ripped her apart for spending $ on real kids clothes for a doll. I guess I get where they were coming from, but 1) the lady gave your store some business 2) you were talking unnecessarily horribly about her IN FRONT OF ME AND OTHER CUSTOMERS. I walked out without purchasing anything and I won't be back. Treat your customers better and shame on your employees. So sorry to make this my 200th review on Yelp.
