Hansson's A/C & Heating installed a ductless split system in our apartment within a day! Jimmy and…read morehis son did a great job. They are experienced professionals who take care of everything from start to finish. After installing the system, they even cleaned the apartment. Jimmy also went above and beyond to take care of our permits and I am grateful for all his help. In the beginning, when I was shopping for a contractor, I decided to choose them because they gave us an excellent price and explained everything very clearly. The other contractors charge extra for everything (installation, permits and warranty), so you need to make sure to ask them. With Jimmy and his crew, all the charges were included in the price. I would definitely reach out to them if I need their services and would recommend them to anyone who needs an A/C & Heating contractor.

I wish I could give 0 stars…read more I wanted a whole home humidifier installed in my apartment. Jim's son came next day and installed it back in October 2018. It never performed the way it should have, and Jim would not come take a look at it, only trouble shoot over the phone, and tell me Im doing it wrong. After calling the manufacturer, I was told the problem was that it was hooked up to the cold water line, when it needs to be on the hot water line. Took 3 months of back and forth and ignoring my calls for Jim to finally come and switch the line over at the end of January 2019. Almost immediately after entering my home to make the repair, Jim insulted me, saying I don't know anything about these units, and this is the first one in the thousands that he's installed that didn't work properly. He then over tightened the self piercing saddle valve (which I have since learned are against code in the state of New Jersey), causing it to leak. He became confrontational and blamed me for this leak. He then put some tape and puddy on the leak and got it to stop long enough for him to tell me I was all set and left. Sure enough 2 days later, I came home to puddles of water leaking from my HVAC closet. Jim wouldn't return my phone calls and I had to call in an emergency plumber to fix the situation. They told me that self piercing saddle valves are against code in NJ and are a cheap short cut from doing it right and prone to leaking. I paid over $700 to fix this and install the proper shut off valve, and remove the dead saddle valve on the cold water line. Also after installing this humidifier, my furnace now "short cycles", because its not getting enough air to the furnace as air is being borrowed for the humidifier. Ive called a real company to handle this problem. Overall Jim does not know which humidifier to install based on my HVAC needs. He cuts corner with parts that are against code and has created more problems that he solves. My advice call someone else, or at the very least dont let him put a self piercing saddle valve in your house.

L Richards Plumbing was a great company to work with. They were the second out of three companies…read morewe consulted for the job. Our decision was made based on Gale who provided me with great customer service by answering my questions and concerns with such professionalism and patience. She had someone at our house within the hour to assess the situation at hand. That, someone, was Kenny. He assessed the situation and advised us that someone will contact us with a price. I honestly thought the leaks we had from our bathroom through the kitchen ceiling (already made holes in our ceiling) were going to cost us both our arms and legs. Gale called us back with a very reasonable and fair price for the work to be done. Which was to find the leaks, repair them and replace both our toilet and vanity. We agreed on the set price and scheduled for work to start the next day. Kenny showed up bright and early and on time with a mask on. He wore it at all times. He did all the purchases of materials needed, breakdown, repairs, and installations. What I was most worried about was the mess that I would have to deal with afterward. There was nothing much for us to do but to sweep a second time, wipe down, and mop because he cleaned up after himself, took out all the garbage, and took everything with him. That's including the old toilet and vanity plus the boxes the new ones came in. We were so impressed by that because the other companies told us we would be responsible for all of that. After the work was done, he advised us to call in immediately if we saw or heard any leaks. The only call I had to make was a "Thank you" one. I don't know about anyone else but from beginning to the end it was an amazing experience and a job very well done! We highly recommend their services to all and anyone we know! Thank you very much Gale and Kenny at L Richards Plumbing & Heating! If we ever need you again we will definitely give you a call.

Allan at Safeguard Mechanical was able to come the following morning (at 8:30am!) and diagnosed the issue within five minutes. He has a decade of experience in this space and you can tell - as soon as he looks at the appliance, he can diagnose the issue and give other suggestions. He walked us through what the issue was and charged us $200 total (for the service and the part that needed to be replaced). It is SO difficult to find good repairman, so I jumped on here to write this review asap so others know that Allan is someone I would recommend! I initially called the company and left a message with an operator who took down my information, and Allan reached out to me directly within an hour or so. It was easy to communicate with the company and Allan.

A few weeks earlier, I had had another crew come out and say that if my compressor went out, I'd need to upgrade the entire home system. "I'll get the parts tomorrow and be back the next morning, 7:30am," was Alan's reply. They were in and out in 3 hours, and everything's working great. Alan also inspected the whole house system and inspected my furnace, just as a throw-in at the end. Look no further. They'll get the job done fast and shoot straight with you.

Dean is awesome! Let me tell you my experience…read more My tenant lives in the top unit of my two unit apt. This morning he texted me that the heater wasn't working correctly. It is very cold these couple of days so immediately I was investigating the issue. Apparently I realized I had a thermostat installed improperly a couple weeks ago in my tenants up unit. Every time the tenant turned on the thermostat to heat, the furnace and the AC condenser would turn on. At first I thought he was using the thermostat improperly but today I realized the previous technician wired the new thermostat incorrectly. As I learned what the issue was, I try to reach the previous technician but he was nowhere to be found! So as a landlord I can't have my tenants out in the cold with the AC on... I immediately searched for ac/heater technician in my area. But today is a Saturday and also Veterans Day so I wasn't too optimistic I can have someone come out to my place so quickly. I did a quick yelp search for a technician and Green Apple came up around my area. I gave them a call and Dean picked up. He was currently on a job but he said he can service me right afterwards. To my surprise Dean showed up at my doorsteps at 8:15pm on Saturday Veterans Day. This just shows he is very responsive and hold true to his word that he will show. He quickly opened up my thermostat, did a quick diagnostic test and immediately knew what the problem was. He rewired it correctly and finished the job in 10minutes. He told me that the previous technician had no idea what he was doing. Most of these guys that calls themselves an AC guy is not even knowledgeable in this field. Having my condenser running below 50 degrees outside can have it blow any minute. I was extremely upset of how the previous tech handled the job and I am so grateful to have Dean checked out my thermostat. This guy is super awesome, reliable, straight forward and good pricing given that it was a weekend holiday! I would definitely be using dean for all my ac/furnace needs. Great guy. Very knowledgeable!
