I contacted John from ProFlow Plumbing for the following services:
- Change/install a powered anode rod in my water heater
- Change/install the original drain valve that came with my water heater
- Drain and flush my water heater
- Change/install a new laundry tub faucet
John removed the original anode rod from my water heater, which was very challenging but thankfully John stuck with it and overcame that challenge. The original drain valve that came with my A.O. Smith water heater was made of plastic and the exterior port opening was smaller than the interior port opening, this impedes/restricts the flow of water when draining the water heater as a smaller exterior port can cause a bottleneck effect that would not allow for the water heater to be drained at full force capacity. Also, I had read reviews stating that over time the plastic drain valve that comes with A.O. Smith water heaters are prone to develop a crack that could eventually lead to a leak, or rupture, of the drain valve. The plastic drain valve also has a small cheap plastic screw that is supposed to be turned to open the valve to drain the water heater. The drain valve that John installed is made of brass (preventing cracks in the valve), is full port (meaning the interior opening is the same as the exterior opening). This allows for the water heater tank to be drained at full force capacity. The brass drain valve that John installed also has an open/close lever instead of a cheap plastic screw.
The laundry tub faucet that was installed by John replaced an old laundry tub faucet that developed a "water hammer/hydraulic shock" sound when the cold water side of the faucet was opened and that annoying sound is now completely gone. I can't say enough how pleased I am that not only is the annoying sound gone, but I can avoid scalding myself because only the hot water side of the faucet was working.
This is the second time that I have contacted John for his services and he did not disappoint. John is punctual, knowledgeable and professional in his approach and work, and is reasonable with what he charges for his services. He also answers questions you may have, shares information, and gives some good advice/recommendations/suggestions with respect to any plumbing needs you might have. If you're looking for a knowledgeable/skilled/dependable/reasonable plumber, I highly recommend that you give John a call. I have attached pictures of the work that John did for me. read more
